  3. For USARF I like to run a 5 man link of snipers with marksman X backed up by a marauder harris with HRL and LT and 1-2 rifle heavy flame throwers. The snipers are a defensive link feeding specialist orders, when you shoot at them the target goes B2 while everyone else goes +6 to hit. Marauders sweep and clear in a second order pool. I think the worst link I've gone up against is Morat yogats as I like to run a lot of camo and ODD. Other great links for fun: Haqq. Lasiqs mix of rilfe and 2 sniper, Loup garou Viral/glue shennanigans, and A.S.S. with Ajax and Machaon leading groups of myrmadons with spitfire, chain rifle and hacker.

  6. I've had all units be game winners. As noted above tank hunter autocannons, minelayer or ADHL chassuer, and Uxia the list goes on. Unusual game winners? Dozer with glue missile, IIF grunts and french line troops and even volunteers. Others unsaid so far, Mirage 5, link team of loup-garou, bigadier Jaques. In other factions, scouts with odjotnik (I've come around to these guys), USARF marauder with HFL,a Haris link with 2 HFL and a HRL, Devil dogs, Link grunt snipers (all 5), desparados with SMG, any Heavy'ish model with HMG or AP HMG. I'm going to stop here before I try to name just about every model in Ariadna, I've even had a hardcase with shotgun win me a game.
  7. This pretty much how I started JSA. Exceptions: I usually ran a regular domoru LT. and a Kiesotsu ML. Shinobu sometimes as well, but that's after I learned the game better. I personally haven't had good luck with Oniwaban. Shinobu yeah, Oniwaban no. you'll probably find better luck with the Shotgun Nowadays rather than CC, key thing to remember practice using it the same way over and over till you figure it out, if after say 5-10 games doesn't EVER work then well try something else. Ninja sniper can also be difficult to get to grips with. Being an infiltrator you'll want to advance halfway up the board, meaning poor range bands and dead ninja. Works better inside or just outside DZ. I've never had bad luck with the Kiesotsu paramedic but with a few small point changes a Tokusetsu doctor may be a better option in later games.
  8. Winning in Infinity is definitely about practice and experience. I learned from Section 9 and another player named Kroot (I don't think he's on the forum anymore) and I lost a lot. One of the best learning practices I started later was building a full list of some one thing (think CC, or AD troops). Then you run though the games with these kind of lists till you see what the strengths and weaknesses are, which really helps learn which rolls they perform well in. Literally you just do everything you can think of in these lists over and over. That's how We learned CC and hacking in the new (3rd) ed. Killer hackers are beautiful. Now, honestly, I rarely loose unless I do some wierd list or something completely different from what one might consider my Normal list builds. When learning basic troops is valuable, after experience sets in, you can cut them from lists or just use them to fill orders or points. I've done more with most basic kiesotsu when learning, than any elite unit. Finally, and this seems pretty key. when learning an army one of the best things you can do is play the same basic list over and over. Big changes to a list can change how the entire list and even individual models play, it's best to just make 1 or 2 model changes till you get it. The worst player in our group continually changes his whole list every game. Every time he does anything he learned about how to play it goes straight out the window. Just because you loose by a lot doesn't mean the list is bad, it could be luck or just playing it wrong.
  9. I did a conversion of Serpentor, somewhere on the conversions page. In the high 70's I think. Great job on cobra commander, he came out better than mine.I didn't even think to green stuff a cord from his shoulder.
  10. I prefer the Fiday with mines and shotgun, Way better coming out of Suprise Shot and themines give the model a secondary use.

  12. My play group may never forgive you for this. May Thardinger never see this. LOL. Actually one of our gaming mates favorite Mk2 play styles was and avatar with Heavy GL bombarding the whole table. This would be as close as you could get with ISS. My thoughts on JSA Useful: Kiesotsu, all of them, after that it starts to blend into what you prefer to play. HI: Domoru box and Haramaki box with ML blister. TO camo: Any/all ninjas and shinobu and Saito. Bikes: well all the bike units. yo jimbo is excellent with crazy koalas, but once they are spent, very Lackluster. Finally to support all this you'll want the JSA support pack, if it exists or just grab the individual blisters of Doctor/Engineer.
  13. I use cyber mask on my killer hackers whenever I remember to do it. Also, most of the time I'm running killer hackers it's ninjas, so... meh. I don't always run killer hacker ninjas, but when I do, I run Barid's
  14. Sub optimal, very likely. But you throw this down spend 2 command tokens for regular orders then 2 more first turn to put most of the army into suppression fire. it'd be interesting. I've done something similar to this in Regular Ariadna but started with Bruant on the table as the LT.   15. If you are going to convert a 112 to be more scottish I would take a 45'r and put van zant's arms on it. I'm thinking the boarding shotgun pose.
