  1. Hey... do you really think I am so dumm I cannot scroll down a list of skills?? Are you saying I am so stupid I did not see that the list can be scrolled down?? Well you´re right... I did not see the list can be scrolled... It hurts... Sorry guys, just forget these last couple of posts...
  2. Hi, I was reading this great guide as I am starting to play Onyx since a few weeks (collecting... actually I only played two battles...). I could not select any option for "Chain of command" for our spec-ops in the Infinity army. Have the rules been changed or do I miss something? Do we have then any other option for a chain of command in our sectorial?
  3. My list is also limited by the fact I do not have enough miniatures (not enough drones and only one Umbra for instance, no big worm..)... You're right there's a saturation zone in the middle and a sniper rifle is not the best option... I'm going to exchange it with a HMG. I also didnot think about anti-materiel weapons... we need to destroy the antennas, that's also a good point. The Fraacta was intended to jump close to any enemy sniper, especially the one with MSV, and terminate him, in case my adversary is able to get a very good position and dominate the battlefield. I shall think twice about it and maybe change this choice. I could think about a sensor and a sniffer... I am thinking that I am maybe risking a bit to let my Lt advancing in the middle of the field, among enemies... We do not have any "chain of command" units, isn't it? I tried to insert a spec ops in my list, but he chain of command option was not available for him... If I remember it correctly, the free Unidrons and the Umbra Samaritan should be all in the same group.
  4. Hi, I am trying to set up a list for the first battle of Tagline, against Neoterra or PanO. I thought about the following one, as an initial draft, in order to make some consideration. It can be optimized, of course: Onyx Contact Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 16 NEXUS Lieutenant Hacker (EI Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Nullifier / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) UNIDRON (Forward Observer) Plasma Carbine / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 15) UNIDRON K1 Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot A (Deflector L1) / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 17) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) MALIGNOS (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 36) GROUP 27 NOCTIFER Missile Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 32) ÍMETRON . (0 | 4) MAAKREP TRACKER MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 33) FRAACTA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 29) E-DRONE Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 28) Q-DRONE HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 26) SURYAT Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + TinBot A (Deflector L1) / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 38) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army According to Tagline, the following units need to be added for free to the first group: 1 Samaritan and 3 Unidrons with K1 rifle. 2 Unidrons shall be added to a link team with the already listed Nexus and Unidrons; one shall be played as a single unit... What do you think about it???
  5. This is maybe a very simple (stupid) question, as I am unesperienced with this tool... When I try to draft lists from Onyx sectorial, I do not have the chance of selecting any spec ops (treitak) unit. Why?? Is there any special rule to insert these units in a list? Thanks
  6. Great, thanks!! Mines and template wielders... that's a really good hint, let them invest in movements and threats elimination, I got it. I am seriously worried about my passive turn: I think it could be very dangerous to put any unit in overwatch for ARO, if also a TO camo on the very board limit with a sniper rifle. NCA units have high BS and visors and long range weapons... If I do not find a solution, I need to count only on those mines and templates (on a dense table) to limit my adversary. And then invest in my active phase, trying to build up some offensive scheme and to grab as much objectives as I can. Close combat and short range... I got to invest some time in planning some tactic: I got a free Samaritan in the first battle, he is a CC monster, but I needs to get in close (and multi-sniper can be a serious threat for him). I can field two double-flamer units, also very mobile, and some antipersonnel mines, of course... What else can be short range and/or CC in Onyx? I need to study.
  7. I know my adversary a bit... I expect a Swiss guard (possibly an hacker, in order to grab objectives and ensure survaivability) and an Aquila hmg (its a classical for midfield dominance and camo hunting). An hacker to pump up a couple of bots with supportware for first turn suicidal strike... And a couple of snipers on some elevated ground. Then a fuciliers link team, with some specialist and, if there are any spare pts, 1-2 camos in the midfield. Being a Tagline campaign, he will get a free TAG in the first battle... I do not expect any other TAGs joining his squad. A Noctifer ML could be a good idea in order to ambush his link team by my point of view, if also the link team is going to move only at the end of the game most probably. In order to deploy him well I should go second and risk to suffer the initiative of the adversary. A TO-camo hacker in order to try to intercept the rambo bots?? I really do not know. I would prefer to deploy an hidden FO Malignos instead... I am going to deploy a couple of Ikadrons in order to get flame thorwers and a makreep (a sniper maybe)... hoping to be able to counter the camos and the swiss guard somehow. I will have three Unidrons with K1 rifles and a Samaritan free (due to first mission scenario). The Unidron shall form a link team with a fourth FO and a Nexus operative (hacker): this should bea good HI (Aquila) and TAG hunting team in my active turn, but I got to be carefull if I lose initiative (I am not too experienced with sectorials and link teams). I read that I should try, in the first turn, to achive some kind of long range dominance, in order to win some freedom of movement for my specialists. How to get it? Which units could I use for long range shooting, without risking enemy (HMG and sniper) ARO? Should I try some hacking dominance on the battlefield? Maybe an E-Drone plus a second hacker?
  8. Hi guys, I am back with some other support request from more experienced players. As I said in a previous topic, I am preparing a campaign for my new army (Onyx) against a Neoterra player (he could also bring a vanilla list, but I expect Neoterra sectorial). I know very few about this opponent... I know I have to expect cheap link teams, a lot of MSV2+, a couple of very expensive HIs with a very high BS, at least a Swiss GUard hacker for objectives. I do not know much more. I need advises and some theory: what to be afraid of, how to best prepare for a Tagline campaign against this faction? What should I keep in mind? Thanks a lot.
  9. I would like to get the one with "red fury". As I said before, I would like to buy also the following miniatures: 1x unidron (ML or spitfire) 2x Ikadron+imetron (2 blisters) 1x treitak spec ops Could you please just give me a price and a possible shipment date? Thank you very much
  10. Interesting points indeed... I`m taking a lot of notes...:) By the way, I think it makes sense to make Onyx lists with a TAG, the pts cost is enough low not to jeopardize any 12+ order list. I only need to understand a number of roles for it and to build lists, which can complement them well.
  11. Hi Chokonnit, I would like to buy a single Xeodron (CA TAG). they are normally sold in pair (box). Could you handle that? In addition I would add some other units as for instance: 1x unidron (ML or spitfire), 2x Ikadron+imetron, 1x treitak spec ops...
  12. I got a very stupid question: why is albedo tinbot so nice? albedo means that for the first turn (both mein and adversary first turn) the Ovrdron cannot be targeted by MSV units, isn´t it? Being the Overdron not a camo unit, it does not suffer from MSV more than it suffer from any other normal weapon. And Onyx does not use any smoke templates. This means that the only advantage is that, if the adversary gets the initiative, he cannot usa smoke/MSV2/long range weapons tactics against the Overdron during first turn. Is this a so huge advantage? I do not really understand why. Xeodron is weaker than the Overdron agaist camo hackers or repeaters (no tinbot deflector) and it seems to have a more advanced role on the battlefield. I think it is a major weakness of any similar TAG... What do you advice for that? A repeater unit close to the TAG in order to give our hackers a chance of a ftf roll against the attacker?
  13. Great, thanks... I was thinking I can buy the Xeodrons box... so that I can play one of them, or both in the haris team or proxy an Overdron... The only thing I fear with this profile are camo units with high CC profile. Such a TAG cannot seat back and shoot, it needs to be close to the middle of the battlefield by my point of view. And it has no CC weapon... It should then maybe be protected somehow by units with template weapons...
  14. Hi, thanks for the replies. I know the Sphinx is a killer... I will buy one sooner or later... On the other hand I am just starting playing with Onyx and I would like to first insert a lower cost TAG and to learn using one in a list (I also play Haqq but i never bought any TAG up to now). I think I`ll buy one and proxy both TAGs; the Overdron is very nice, but I fear I will never manage to transport it out with the twin sniper rifles on the shoulder. Got to check whether I can get one single Xeodron from Chokonnit or other internet vendor... IMPORTANT QUESTION: Are the Xeodron and Overdron miniatures of the same size? Or are the Xeodron miniatures smaller??
  15. Hi guys, I just started to collect CA and specifically Onyx miniatures, and I played just a couple of games with them. I am starting a campaign against a friend of mine, who plays PanO. We would like to play the TAGLINE battles. I would like to buy a TAG (just one) and I cannot choose which one to get between Overdron and Xeodron. The Overdrone looks more a static unit, intended for long range firing. I like the model very much but the two weapons on the shoulder, which look very fragile... Also to transport it around has to be a nightmare. The Xeodron looks more dynamic and compact... What about their performances on the battlefield ? Can you please give me some advice? Many thanks
