  1. I like the idea, but as you said in the initial post, usually you'll see the Sphinx supported by a Unidron link. This is because the Sphinx is a very expensive piece and the Unidrons are cheaper than Rodoks, which has the important distinction of freeing up points for an Umbra Legates Hacker to counter those pesky MSV2+ troops (Aquila, Hsien, Charontid) who can really give the Sphinx a hard time; not to mention that the Rodoks and Q-Drone also get countered by those same units (you're putting a lot of eggs in the Mimetism/TO basket). But it's worth giving a shot, so here's my take on the Sphinx + Rodoks + Q-Drone package. Onyx Contact Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 SPHINX Spitfire, 2 Heavy Flamethrowers / EXP CCW. (2 | 106) SCINDRON Flash Pulse / Knife. (0 | 0) RODOK Missile Launcher, Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 28) RODOK HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 27) RODOK Paramedic (MediKit) Boarding Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21) RODOK Boarding Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) NEXUS Lieutenant (Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16) Q-DRONE HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 26) MED-TECH OBSIDON MEDCHANOID Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23) SLAVE DRONE Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) UNIDRON (Forward Observer) Plasma Carbine / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 15) UNIDRON (Forward Observer) Plasma Carbine / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 15) 6 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army
  2. How fun is it you ask? Have you ever ridden a unicorn through a field of candy canes, playing Pokemon Blue on an original Game Boy, eating double fudge brownie cheesecake, while listening to the dulcet tones of Sandstorm by Darude playing in the background? Because that sounds terrible, but Combined Army is awesome. I love having the small, elite army of highly effective aliens. I love being able to play aggressively with the abundance of Camo/TO, Airborne Deployment, Mnemonica, and Morat options. I love being able to bring answers to almost every problems, while providing all the problems for your opponents. And most of all... I love Plasma and Sepsitor.
  3. What Toadchild said. The only reason not to use G: Mnemonica is if you have a model without a Cube or G: Autotool that you want to make your Lt after the G: Mnemonica model dies.
  4. I aim to play Aleph for this campaign (picking up that sick special deal they're doing and the Steel Phalanx 300 point box), but who knows, maybe some Shasvastii will impersonate Aleph operatives here or there to throw a wrench into the Human Sphere's plans.
  5. I'll tell ya what we won't get but I'd reeeaaally like to see in June: Kurgat box with an Autocannon, BS, Mk12 and Knife/D-Charge. Got your Haris team and your big guns right there in one box.
  6. There is no "problem" with this as far as I know. If an active trooper with MSV2 draws LoF to a reactive trooper (who has MSV1 or lower) through a Zero-Visibility zone and is not in the reactive trooper's Zone of Control, then the reactive trooper does not get to declare any ARO until it becomes the target of a skill by the MSV2 active trooper. So if the MSV2 trooper declared Move (and LoF was blocked by the Zero Visibility zone for the entire move) and then Shoot, since the reactive trooper was unable to react to the first skill, it is free to declare it's reaction to the second skill, which can be Dodge (at -3), Shoot, etc.
  7. It has a feature for tracking Wounds, orders, command tokens, turn order, models in hidden states, retreat, LoL, etc. It's not the most intuitive game tracker app and i prefer to handle it all with physical tokens on the table, but it has all the functionally needed to run a game off of it.
  8. As Melkhior said, there's no official word on upcoming Morat resculpts. I'd hazard it's a safe bet that they will come eventually though. So if you really don't want to mix and match the old and new style Morats, you could wait out. It might be a few years before they all get updated, but I'm sure it will happen. At this point we just need Kurgats and Rasyats, right?
  9. As far as fluff goes, this makes sense. However in terms of actual rules, the TAG itself does have a Cube, and so does the pilot. So, for example, a Guija Pilot Dismounts to perform some objective action, ending their turn dismounted from the TAG. An Avatar then proceeds to successfully Sepsitor the TAG (because it has a Cube) but not the pilot (who also has a cube on their profile). This plays out that the Combined Army player now control the pilot-less TAG and cannot spend any orders on it, and that the Yu Jing player loses the order for the TAG since the TAG itself generates the order, not the Pilot. I would also imagine this is the case, where the Pilot can Mount the TAG again once it has been Sepsitorized as well. EDIT: However, a Sepsitorized pilot would not be able to Mount an un-Sepsitorized TAG. Also, I'm not 100% on this part, but if the Combined Army player manages to Sepsitorize a TAG with the Pilot inside, and decides to Dismount the Pilot or suffers a successful Hacking Attack that causes the Pilot to Dismount, does the Pilot then return to the control of their original Player?
  10. It's pretty much a crap-shoot. Whichever one gets the active turn first will probably take out the other (barring other support). Without White Noise support for the Avatar, the Marut definitely has an advantage though, as they can deploy a Myrmidon next to it, throw smoke as an ARO then still engage the Avatar from behind the smoke. If you really want to counter the Marut with an Avatar, but without using White Noise, you have two options: 1) Have the Avatar avoid it. Use a Speculo Killer, Umbra Samaritan, or Rasyat to engage it in close combat, or any kind of infiltrating hacker to make moving it around a pain. An expensive and not-ideal option due to the MSV2 is the Monofilament Mine Malignos, but it is an option. 2) Basically the same as above, but using the Avatar more actively to Sepsitor an opponent's Myrmidon or any other decent combat troop, and engage the Marut so the Avatar is free to go do stuff elsewhere. Bonus points if you grab Penthesilia or a Monomine Naga and pin down the Marut that way. Also, Myrmidon Officers make great targets thanks to their Eclipse Grenades which the Marut can't see through.
  11. You guys aren't thinking dark enough... Onyx Contact Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 UMBRA LEGATE Hacker (Hacking Device Plus) Boarding Shotgun, Flash Pulse / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 43) UMBRA LEGATE Spitfire, Flash Pulse / Pistol, DA CCW. (1.5 | 41) UMBRA LEGATE K1 Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 40) UMBRA SAMARITAN Lieutenant Spitfire, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Vorpal CC Weapon. (1 | 44) UMBRA SAMARITAN (EI Assault Hacking Device. UPGRADE: Goodnight) Plasma Carbine, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Vorpal CC Weapon. (0.5 | 43) UMBRA SAMARITAN Breaker Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Vorpal CC Weapon. (0 | 40) UNIDRON (Forward Observer) Plasma Carbine / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 15) UNIDRON (Forward Observer) Plasma Carbine / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 15) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) 3.5 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army
  12. I've done that list before too. Didn't like it so much, I found the list was lacking too many key pieces (MSV, Smoke, long-range weapons, infiltrators) and is too easily countered by enemy MSV 2/3. But the psychological reaction is great, especially if you move them both as if they were 4-4 MOV so your opponent doesn't know which one is the Sphinx until it's too late.
  13. Hacker option (either Lt or not, I like to run the Anathematic Hacker with a Charontid HMG Lt) is probably the best option by a long shot. It's a high WIP specialist with a super-powerful weapon in the Plasma Rifle. Walk it up the board, claim an objective, and go on Suppression Fire. Good luck to your opponent removing it. Also an important note, G: Mnemonica works even if its not your Lt, so if he does die you can still bump another specialist up to WIP 16 when he dies
  14. As fool's idol states, it seems that failing the first ARM roll results in the loss of all Active Symbiont Wounds, the second failed roll results in the loss of 1 Inactive Symbiont Wounds, and 2 additional ARM saves must be taken due to the 2 failed saves against Fire ammunition.
  15. Ko Dali is about as swingy as a model can get. If she does well in her first firefight, then often she can confidently wade through your opponent's back-lines. On the flip side, she's extremely vulnerable if engaged before gaining any Wounds from Prothieon. In N2 I loved her and brought her along every game, but now I rarely field her. 38 Points is a lot to spend on a AD Trooper, which makes it hard to compete with the cheaper tankiness of the Fraacta and the Eclipse Smoke of the Rasyat. Not to mention at that price point she's in the same bracket as Umbra and Maakrep, whose specialization make them more efficient than Ko Dali's mix of minor CC ability and short-range MSV2. If you want to take Ko Dali, I think she pairs well with a TAG or Anathematics. You want a big threat on the board that will distract your opponent's force or send them into hiding, then you walk Ko Dali on through a safe lane and either scalpel out an expensive target or go for the order monkeys.
