  1. So I've been struggling with USAriadna for awhile but it has me thinking about what new units or profiles I wish USArf had. A Foxtrot profile with Minelayer. I don't get why there are no USA units with Minelayer at all and it seems like the skill Foxtrots should have. A Hardcase profile with FO. Maybe one with a Marksman or Sniper rifle. I feel like Hardcases are supposed to represent a huntsman and what better represents that than a hunting rifle. And, of course, a manned TAG of some kind. A new US only TAG would be awesome. Call it the Ironside in reference to the 1st. or Spearhead in reference to the 3rd. Armored Divisions. or something similar. But regular access to the Anaconda would be okay too. Any other thoughts on what you think USArf should or could have?

Traditionally, forward observing and demolitions are something US Airborne have been assigned, ala Pathfinders and the 20th & 37th Engineer Battalions, since inception. Oh, maybe even make one an actual Engineer...

I'm not familiar with Tohaa but my girlfriend has started playing them and after reading the wiki entry for Symbiobombs, I take it to mean they follow the two general rules for deployment of Symbiomates and not the boxed in power description. Others in my meta (not Tohaa players by the way) are assuring her that not only do they have the one Pheroware Tactic but also act as Symbiomates because the wiki states that they follow the same general rules as Symbiomates. Is this correct? If so, that sounds really overpowered and doesn't make any sense to me since no one would bother taking Symbiomates if bombs do both...
  8. I have a Hexa sniper with the MSR barrel cut down and moded with the head from the the Aleph Chandra Spec Ops. I would probably use Knauf as a second.
  9. First, should Wotan rules questions be posted here or in the Wotan forum? In the Kill Cage mission, we have a couple of questions, first off, do you have to identify you Lt. so that he can "threaten" it? Does your opponent roll and decide targets for the Security Remotes as in Ice Storm for the CSU? Also, the scenario states it uses No Quarter but also states under End of Mission that Retreat will end the mission.

  11. I'm playing 300ot. USARF in the Antennae Field scenario against a Vanilla Aleph army in my League. I have just about every model for USARF available except the Minuteman box.
  12. Regarding Marksman X, well, crap... I like Desperado's (though I don't care for their fluff or models), my last League game, he turned the game around but my meta seems to be a lot of Snipers and HMGs with MSV. PanO, Aleph and Nomads with smoke. Plus Total Reaction bots with HMG doesn't help. How does USARF deal with long range, MSV units other than Van Zant or Air Borne? And if they have smoke available?
  13. Why can't you use Marksman X in an ARO if it's in a link team and has a burst of 2?

  15. While it's possible I'll have to deal with Achilles, it seems unlikely. Like I said above, the player doesn't like the Greek characters. And I've given up on AROs with USARF. Every unit I have used in ARO so far is dead first thing and accomplishes nothing. My opponents always seem to have units with camo or worse, TO or ODD, surprise shot, smoke or just plain better BS. The only luck I've had has been the Grunt sniper in a link team because of Marksmanship X and even that's been iffy. Is there another unit I should be using that I'm just not recognising? I don't have this issue when I play PanO or CA as they have HMG Total Reaction bots and snipers with MSV, Camo, etc. And other good ARO pieces.

  17. How about this. Since I have so many FOs anyway, might as well put them to use for some extra firepower,so added a Uragan and upgraded the Airborne to Van Zant. Changed the Grunt Sniper to a HMG. Couldn't really add any infiltrating Grunts since they use .5 SWC, without getting rid of firepower, which I need. Kept a Maverick FO for a fast specialist that I hope to move up the sideline to either grab an objective, FO or harass his DZ.   18. My girlfriend is playing Corregidor in a Escalation League and is doing very well but the next game is 300pts. Antennae Field versus Tohaa and she's a little nervous since the only other time she's faced Tohaa, she got her butt kicked. I know she likes her Jaguars, Alguacil, Intruders and she just found joy in AD Hellcats but since I don't play Nomads I don't really have any advice for her so I thought some of you might. So any advice on tactics or list building?
  19. Thanks for the reply. I'm back and forth on the MM APHMG Lt. I don't mind risking an Lt. (I play Joan in PanO a lot) but so far, I haven't had a lot of luck with him. I took the Maverick LRL because I've had some good luck with her. She sometimes dies first turn or most often, she tears them up. But I could change one or both Mavericks to Desperados and move some points elsewhere. Have had good luck with Desperados too but there are no specialists. Luckily, I probably won't have to deal with Achilles as he is playing vanilla Aleph and has expressed a dislike for the whole Greek theme in the past. But I do know he's playing Proxies.
  20. I've wondered why PanO, or for that matter, anyone else, doesn't get a Jammer unit like Haqq. Seems pretty "hitech" to me. Would love to see it on a second Engineer profile.
  21. Ninjad You might want a Machinist to accomplish Classified Objectives and if your HI get Imm/2, either fron Adhesive or EM, he's the only one that can break that. Joan gets recommended because she's one of the best Lt.s in the game. She gives you a free coordinated order when she spends her Lt. Order, gives all your units Courage and makes all Irregular orders (like the warcor) into a Regular order. She's also bad ass in her own right. You just have to be careful how you play and aggressive Lt. The Warcor is a nice filler if your short 3pts. And again, becomes Regular with Joan as your Lt. His flashpulse is good because it has a huge range.
  22. Try doing a search for the book the figure comes with. I've seen them for sale at etailers with the figure cheaper than the figure by itself.

  24. Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Here's a list I already had and it checked a lot of the boxes. I choose second turn and turtled up except for the Bolt ML and the Squallo. My dice were really on for a change and he made some mistakes so I really tore him up with the Bolt link team and the Squallo by the end of the first turn. Well, I can't get the Army link to work so here's what I had: Neocapital Army Squallo w/ MHMG and Hvy Grenade Launcher A 5 man Bolt team with Spitfire, ML, Hacker, Paramedic and Combi with Drop Bears 2 Auxilia FOs An Mechanic and a Deva Lt. with a Devabot Didn't even get the chance to use any of the flamethrowers...
  25. I have a match planned tonight against a Tohaa player. I've never played against Tohaa before as it's not well represented in my meta... Any suggestions, survival tips, etc?
