  1. So what unusual unit profiles seem to re-occur in your army lists For me it’s the makaul outside a triad. He is cheap enough that I don’t care if he dies, can work as a rambo and fix triads in a pinch. I’m kinda surprised that I don’t see lone makauls appear more often.
  2. I don't think it's unrealistic, just not the right method for the job. Honestly if you want to dig a hole in concrete in a hurry you want a directional charge explosive. However beyond making a grenade sump there is no reason, mainly because concrete roofs aren't thick enough to make a hole big enough for a grown man to sit in without him plumbing down to the next floor.
  3. Don't forget Indigo Brother Konstantinos, he actually has some decent odds if you manage to get within 16 and you have first turn. Hey all, As some of you who have visited the new forums may already know I'm currently working on designing some terrain for my group including some 3d City tiles, however in order to determine the width of the roads and some other dimensions for the terrain I need the sizes of some of the vehicles made by Micro Art Studio. So I like to know the dimensions of the following items before I order them later on: - The largest car in the "City Cars set" - The "Manatee Haulers" - The busses and the bus stops of the "District 5 Bus Services"
  6. Well, keep in mind that the opponent can deal with them whatever way he want, probably 1 at a time. Sure they are treatening, but let's not forget that you sink a lot of points into it to do it and honestly they aren't going to do a lot in the active turn. However some standout units are the USAriadna Grunt, Marauders, Djanbazan (although expensive for a defensive link), Govads and the Kameals. Especially the Marauder is order consuming for the opponent to deal with.
  7. Something can be said about the MULTI Sniper, but let’s not forget the humble Sniper Rifle. Sure it doesn’t have AP or DA, but what is more treatening for LI/MI infantry, 1 Multi Sniper in ARO or 3 regular snipers for the same SWC in a link.
  8. Ah, that makes more sense now I think of it, never really looked at the Frenchies in much detail before, guess I missed him. Still a whole Moblot link on suppression near a objective might be hard to deal with. Kinda makes me want to play a double fireteam list. Might expand into ariadna next. On second thought it might be more efficient to drop a zouave and some infiltrators instead and put those on suppression.
  9. I do think that's partly to blame to the change in ITS missions Flipswitch. Out of the 22 missions there are currently 5 missions that have 2 classifieds or more and honestly for biotechivore I wouldn't even consider taking a Kauuri. Still I think it's a nice unit and deserves a little more attention. Scooper, I can see why you would take the Asura Multi, nice tag like stats and a good set of goggles. quite a versatile unit actually. On the moblot, well I'm interested, ever thought of dropping him out of the fireteam and putting him on suppression?
  10. I agree, Regen is far too expensive to be worth the benefit. Maybe make it so that regeneration automatically activates at the end of the next players turn it would maybe be worth it. I also see literally no point in having a defensive hacking device on Keesan, if you really need a hacker you take a kameal. Just give defensive hackers the same benefit as white hacking devices and give enemies a reason to hack defensive hacker.
  11. Not in my meta, for some reason everyone auto-includes at least 1 TO infiltrating sniper in their lists. Another unit I don't see played is the minelayer Kosuil.
  12. I see what you're getting at Loricus, there seems to be a stigma surrounding drop troops with HMG's. Gonna try the Gao-Tarsos with HMG myself and see what all the fuss is about.
  13. Honestly there are multiple answers and none of them are necessary right or wrong, however here are what I generally consider for my Neema triads. Kameal paramedic/kumotail: If you take the spitfire Neema they are fine, however once you get into close range they are kind of squishy and being a frontline healer kinda put a bulls-eye on your head. Though for 14 points you can't argue about getting yourself a cheaper specialist that can heal. Sakiel paramedic: only 6 points more then a kameal paramedic and 2 points less then a kumotail. Honestly I value the extra survivability more then the extra 10% chance of healing Neema and here is why. If they want to get Neema they have to either put extra orders into making sure Neema is dead or they have to kill the healer. If you position both Neema and the sakiel right you're opponent is gonna have to sink quite a lot of orders into it (which is not the case with the kumotail/kameal). On the other hand you're sakiel got nimbus plus grenades which makauls love. Kosuil: Great for when you need some anti-tag for up close and a specialist to boot, honestly the way I see it you put the sakiel in your close range triad if you expect to get trouble with a tag/heavy infantry on close range and the sakiel paramedic if not, assuming you have both in your list. If not then it's a personal choice, I personally love the order starvation the sakiel brings, but you may as well prefer the versatility the kosuil brings. Another note; the kosuil is the only model with mines that can join a triad, you could place mines in zero smoke and lock you're opponents units down that way. Not something to sneeze at considering you're also have Neema and the kosuil to ARO, otherwise don't underestimate the nulifier. Ectros/Sukeul HMG: Honestly I'm not a fan of putting a HMG into a Neema triad, for starters Neema is all about getting into close/mid-range which kind of defeats the point and eclipse smoke + a panzerfaust or 2 means Neema quite easily gets into someone's face. Sukeul FO: Everything that applies to the Kosuil also applies to the Sukeul. The only thing I'm less pleased about is that he is slightly less useful for classifieds. Main selling point is his BS 13, Mimetism and Stealth combined with a Nullifier. Unlike the Kosuil a sukeul actually can sneak around together with Neema and a makaul without triggering any hacking ARO's. Place down a nullifier every time you plan on attacking inside a hacking zone or when it's the end of your turn and you're almost immune to hacking.
  14. Honestly I would go 1 step further and remove chain of command entirely from the kealtar. The way I see it tohaa is al about diversity and chosing what tools work best for the situation. Having clear auto-takes (within reason) and all-purpose troops kinda defeat the point and limit how far the faction can expand. However having troops like the taqeul or nikoul with a clear job in mind and a limited toolset have the opposite effect. If CB looked more on how certain troops overlap and how to add diversity without outrulling certain units we would have had a more diverse and interesting faction. TL;DR: kealtar are fine even without CoC.
  15. I actually enjoyed putting the gao-tarsos together, in a sadistic selftorturing kind of way. Mind you, I build him without any pinning. Honestly if CB doesn’t step up it’s release schedule for tohaa I’m gonna be dissapointed.

  17. Don't get me wrong I think the Rasail lieutenant is a amazing model no matter what profile you take, it's just that I haven't brought him yet mainly because I have decided to paint my other models first before buying new ones and let me tell you, I'm a slow painter.
  18. I can't agree more to what Cothel said, there is little you can do wrong when building a tohaa list as even the less optimal units are quite good. 1. Your list looks quite capable, there is still room for a little change, but that's mostly out of preferences. Personally I prefer a sakiel paramedic over a kumotail doctor for close quarter healing. Mainly because the sakiel is a lot more durable and a better gunfighter. And since you're a lot more vulnerable mid table you can use the sakiel as a flank guard without the same amount as risk as you would with the kumotail. Though I'm not saying the kumotail is a bad unit or that you shouldn't use her as a frontline doctor to the contrary, I personally rather have her in one of the rear triads or alone with a servant where she is less likely to get shot down. 2. Not necessary, you're hmg is still quite effective up to 8-16 inch away and has mimetism to booth, any closer and you're makaul is in barbecue range. I would personally have no objections at dragging them to the objective if plan A doesn't work. 3. I have no experience with the Rasail, but anyways. Generally speaking the viral combi is better at killing you're opponents cheerleaders and starving his order pool where the spitfire is better at engaging his more armored troopers and is a bit more all round. 4. I have yet to use the Neuorcinetic chaksa. The way I see it he is either going to be shot down by something bigger then him or some TO camo trooper with surprise shot is gonna take a free pot shot at him. Either way I don't see him do so much other then wasting the opponents orders which is fine, but other then that he's only good at taking out warbands in my book. Either way I feel a gao-real sniper or a nikoul does the job better. 5. I bring around 1-5 specialists dependent on what mission I'm playing. On kill missions where not a lot of specialist are required I only take a kumotail or a paramedic + engineer, on more objective focused missions I take the effort in taking kosuils, kealtars and FO clipsos in addition. 6. The Sukeul ML is indeed a strong if I have to believe what other people have said. Personally I tend to use the Ectros in the first turn as a active turn killer before switching it into a reactive turn order sponge that has to be dealt with. However if that isn't feasible I try to go for the midfield with some eclipse coverage from the Makauls and take it from there. I highly recommend a second long range weapon platform for picking of high priority targets during the active turn. The Gao-Real sniper excels at taking care of squishier targets during the reactive turn, but during the active turn you may want to have something more of a powerhouse to take out the bigger guys.

  20. According to the profiles pdf the scots guards should have a 27 pts ap marksman rifle profile with camouflage, this profile misses the camouflage part when the caledonian sectorial is selected in both the normal as the mobile army builder.
  21. I personally prefer to take one weapon platform -specialist - makaul triad plus one close ranged - medium ranged - makaul triad with atleast one gao-real and one with a hmg ectros. The last one is often filled with kealtars, support units or just kameals or other filler units for when one of the other triads looses a guy. Simply put, I prefer to have one triad to deliver specialists, one for camo hunting and midfield control and a last one to make those support units useful until another triad needs them.   22. Ah, you probably need a saw with a higher tpi then. Anyway that doesn't change the fact your terrain looks really fun to play on.
  23. Definitely a nice use of materials and a really interesting terrain compositions you have going on. That does reminds me of the pile of scrap wood that I have laying around. Though you're saw cuts do draw my attention a bit. One way of improving your saw cuts is to use the reflection of your material in the saw blade to correct your sawing angle before you're completely committed to the cut. Also using a Gent's saw or a tenon saw really improves precision over a normal saw in my experience.

  25. I had quite the oposite experience with the clipsos sniper. I personally only take the first shot to get her out of hidden deployment once the big guns are taken care of, after that it's just a aro piece ment for area denial and soaking up orders for me witch she is really good at. Maybe I let her shoot twice a game, but unless it's a TR bot or a basic line infantry trooper there are better and more resilient options of dealing with the treat.
