  1. Yeah it's not that practical to see if there are replies in your faction's subsection, or things like that. The rest should do. Mostly, it means we have till the beginning of january to duplicate everything we want to keep ? Hmmm... Who's up for 316 pages of W Tee eff ?
  2. There's a topic about that nearby, but I can't find it. It must be a nested conversation inside some other stuff. as REMs, they will dodge at PH-3, and they are repeater, which can be good (for instance, to protect your tag from AHDs, but can be a pain in the *ss also if you advance him too much and he gets near some ennemy hacker. Generally, hacking is a quite complicated stuff that you'll need to learn now, because as some opponents play very hacking-oriented (pointing at you, nomads), you'll have to know how to defend yourself. And we have many hackable units in onyx. But honestly, I worry about it mostly if I field a TAG or a Umbra hacker. Unidron : usually stay in the back, away from repeaters, are not targettable from khd (which I see often in my meta), and they have BTS6. Sphinx : do not forget, it's not hackable in marker state ! Well you can still play Sphinx + fireteam of Rodok, but you won't have 14-15 orders. 10-11 will be it, most likely. But to me, the Rodok are more effective offensively, as @Sabin76 said, so they might be in competition with the Sphinx for who gets the orders. Also, you don't want them to die as they must fuel the Sphinx with orders. So yeah, Sphinx + fireteam of Unidron will do.
  3. YOU SHOOT THEM IN DA FACE ! Well more seriously, you mentionned other tactics (hacking, camo, TAGs that can just ignore a few hits) you just have to use them. Also, plasma is really fun. yep totally There's lots of stuff, just take what you want... yes dr worm, and some tags, but also ikadrons+imetrons, special weapons unidrons (you'll probably need at least a fourth), noctifer, soon we wil have nexus and bit&kiss. Suryats if you're into them (me, not really) I took some xeodron because it was the cheapest tag in value per mini, and because all the tags in onyx are S6 so proxying is easier. And to complete the pair, I had to add a samaritan (aka the dreadful) Well you know, a fireteam with 5 members is always some kind of a threat. But it gets worse when the fireteam has some buffed (assisted fire) plasma sniper, that can go dogged if the opportunity is worth keeping shooting. And it fires templates that make every hit throw two saves. Or you can put the same buff on some plasma Q-drone and rambo. Bit more squishy though, so you still have to be careful. The other guys can't really be buffed so offensively (for instance, Overclock only modifies your burst in reaction). Re-reading this paragraph, to me onyx is not a glass canon, but some unit really are. If you lose an umbra because someone had shock, you really lost something important. Same thing works for the noctifer, or dr worm. And same with a tag : even if you have a engineer, be careful with enemy repeaters, possible AHDs, or cheap suicide warbands. We don't have so many troops with 2W or more : the Suryats, the tags of course, but the good surprise in this list is the Fraacta. There's a bit of help against ennemy hackers now with bit&kiss, but still not invincible from hacking, far from that. The philosophy would be : you have the troops to do pretty much anything, just be precise using the correct ones, and be careful on the way. Well I've already talked about almost everything I like. A small list of stuff : minis, as you have mentionned. and some nice faction with troops from all the universe you have some unique tools that almost no one else has (plasma, protheion, linked tag, TO tag, a base troop that has STR, nice TO in general also) plasma (no I'm not obsessed at all) the fireteam core of 4*unidron+nexus (lieutenant or not) is a really good defense, that can still advance in turn 2/3 if your sniper died, and still be a pretty good threat. Their downside to me is their low burst and low base range (with the flash pulse from FO, their ARO range extended a bit). Also, they can't go prone and dodge only in last resort. the fireteam core of rodoks, I have (EDIT : not tried that much. forgot a word) tried it that much, it always felt a bit expensive, a bit slow, and not durable enough, but it's certainly a pain to deal with them. I will give them their chance. good tags in general : sphinx, the fireteam haris of xeodrons+samaritan (love blitzen B2 or red fury B5), the lone overdron. love them all ikadrons are really cheap cheerleaders that are good DZ defensers, and can still be useful in specific attack cases. Against camo, the M-drone (sensor + FO) is one the cheapest tool we have I still have to try it but I'm really into Bit pitching repeaters, and then an E-drone Exile-ing fireteam members.
  4. The Haris is Samaritan + 2 Xeodrons, nothing else ;-) And with that Haris, you bring durability and two big threats to the table, while your samaritan can just walk towards the mid table and towards edible ennemies. If you don't expect an AHD on the ennemy side, it's joyful. If you do, Bit can now make them a bit less of a liability. Anyway, with SuperJump their movement range is really enjoyable. Samaritan alone... Don't know. I'd probably prefer a Legate alone except if I expect dudes just in front of my DZ. But then I do not consider myself a particularly experienced player. EDIT : oh and I forgot the beautiful linked Blitzen, that everybody forgets. If they assume something is too big to fail, and leave it in the open : boom, isolated, and maybe imm-2. **Insert diabolical laughter here**
  5. Wait, it's not just a typo ? Edit : so it's not a typo, replied too slowly. So... They want to see only the HMG or specialist profile in the future ?
  6. Yep, noticed. It could hurt, for sure. I wanted to try other stuff, that's the occasion. Still need to play a few games with them, to see how frequently it can occur.
  7. I just wonder about what you'll do with your second group during turn 1. I would have put the E-drone there, as it shouldn't require many orders during the game.
  8. Ok so no engineer needed, that's good. Then you can try something like this also : Shasvastii Expeditionary Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 ASWANG Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26) SPECULO KILLER Boarding Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Monofilament CCW, Knife. (1 | 34) SHROUDED (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) SHROUDED (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) SHROUDED (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) SHROUDED (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) Treitak Spec-Ops (12 XP) (BS:12, Minelayer, EI Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Plasma Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) R-DRONE Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 2 SWC | 200 Points Open in Infinity Army Gotta love coordinated mine laying. Or, you can switch a shrouded for a plasma Q-drone (offensive or not). But in this list, the shrouded and speculo will have to do all the work.
  9. Uh ! Complicated. Your only source of damage to the enemy console are D-charges (which I tried to avoid), Sheskiin, Sphinx, or the spec ops. And two of them are veeeery expensive ! So I chose the last solution. For offense, I tried to stay usual : speculo, buffed plasma Q-drone, aswang. Console destroyer : the spec ops, when nothing stands anymore (or inside smoke from speculo) Ikadrons and HMG Q-drone for defense. Shasvastii Expeditionary Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 Treitak Spec-Ops (12 XP) (CC:19, PH:13, CH: Mimetism) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife, EXP CC Weapon. (0 | 14) Bit Hacker (UPGRADE: Expel) Submachine Gun + Pitcher, Deployable Repeater + KISS! / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19) KISS! Adhesive Launcher / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) SPECULO KILLER Boarding Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Monofilament CCW, Knife. (1 | 34) ASWANG Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26) E-DRONE Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 28) Q-DRONE HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 26) Q-DRONE Plasma Rifle / Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) R-DRONE Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 4 SWC | 198 Points Open in Infinity Army I hesitate to switch the E-drone for some shrouded FO, if things go south with the spec ops. But then we'd need an engineer to detonate the charges... Uh !
  10. If you're confident you will not use too many command tokens, you can disband the fireteam, use the nexus' lieutenant order (or a regular one...) to buff your sniper, and then reform the fireteam. No ARO against your sniper in this case ! I've had more luck with the unidron plasma sniper fireteam than the noctifier, but that's quite natural, they're more expensive, they throw more dices, they avoid surprise shots, ... E-drone + bit-kiss can be nice, you launch your repeater where you want to avoid the enemy fireteam, the enemy will have to move around, otherwise you Exile them one at a time : and of course you have a strong ARO piece (I'd say buffed plasma sniper) waiting for them in the other area. Just an idea that I had, haven't tried it, but it could be interesting =)
  11. Yeah the speculo is strong, but not that strong. In my few games with her, I found she was best at going for cheerleaders (if possible, in line, for boarding shotgun killing spree). If you want to engage against a heavy piece, do it on your turn, where Surprise Attack (-6 to the ennemy, only in CC) makes a real difference. So, if you're going second, it's better to hide her prone somewhere as Kwisatz said. I also agree on changing your groups to 10 + 3 The noctifier is to use in reactive turn, but you have to guess when to let go and when to reveal him. Against fireteams of LI, he's best. If you can force your ennemy to engage him and something else at the same time (him + HMG Q-drone for instance) then he might survive. Against a heavy ODD, if the occasion comes, do not hesitate to "sacrifice" an ikadron in order to burn that equipment. If you bring many (I like 3 or 4) dudes with mines, they can coordinate "lay a mine" and then coordinate "recamo". But they have to be in the same group.
  12. Damn I keep forgetting that. Sorry. I have an event soon, and so I thought about "base-lists" a bit in your spirit, to punch through everything. Feel free to complete/modify as you wish. My first "base-list" relies on three heavy hitters, with Bit for hacking defense. Surprise plasma in da face ! 20171028-CA-1 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 4 CHARONTID Lieutenant (Multispectral Visor L3) Plasma Rifle, Nanopulser / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0 | 78) ANATHEMATIC Sepsitor, Plasma Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Shock CCW. (2 | 88) Bit Hacker (UPGRADE: Expel) Submachine Gun + Pitcher, Deployable Repeater + KISS! / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19) KISS! Adhesive Launcher / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) SPECULO KILLER Boarding Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Monofilament CCW, Knife. (1 | 34) 3.5 SWC | 219 Points Open in Infinity Army I would complete with cheerleaders, smokers, or maybe something not too expensive like hungries Second "base-list" is a bit heavier, because one scenario was Deadly Dance. The aim was to use Speculo + buffed Plasma Q-Drone on first turn, and on further turns you still have a Charontid with Cybermask available and the tag. But I guess you can replace the tag with something else that can go prone. 20171028-CA-2 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 XEODRON Red Fury, Blitzen / Heavy Pistol. (1 | 59) STALDRON Flash Pulse / Knife. (0 | 0) CHARONTID Lieutenant Hacker (Hacking Device Plus) Plasma Rifle, Nanopulser / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 73) Bit Hacker (UPGRADE: Expel) Submachine Gun + Pitcher, Deployable Repeater + KISS! / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19) KISS! Adhesive Launcher / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) Q-DRONE Plasma Rifle / Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) SPECULO KILLER Boarding Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Monofilament CCW, Knife. (1 | 34) 4 SWC | 210 Points Open in Infinity Army
  13. Do you play it with the "narrow gate" rule that only allows S1-S2 to enter ? It changes quite much the mission, as your main points-holder might not enter the building...
  14. Ok no problem, so, a little change of plans, I am now aiming at : - Scindron - Daturazi + b.shot - Pneumarch of the Ur Hegemony (from the regular store)
  15. Hi Cho ! Any plans on splitting another box Dire Foes 1 ? If so, I'd take : - Treitak Anyat - Scindron - Daturazi + b.shot Thanks !
