  1. Nah I'm talking about a nursery juniper bonsai or similar. Not a traditional one. insets on the scenery to take the pot and put it away when you're done.
  2. I've been tempted for a long time to use bonsai on a board. A JSA board with insets for the pots is the perfect opportunity.
  3. Just realized JSA's elites consist of oniwaban and shikami. Both excelllent choices for actually abducting a HVT but wow that's inconvenient.
  4. Is four models in various 'holding' poses and a weapons sprue with spit, combi, MSR, BSG, combi-LGL and a belt KSCD out of the question?
  5. Not really a skirt but I don't know what it's called. The drape at the front is the main visual difference apart from the goggles.
  6. Well, I figure it really only takes some green stuff as a skirt to turn a CG into a Bao as long as you don't pick it up to look at it. So that box sounds good.
  7. Fair comment. "Effectively useless" is probably a bit strong. They're probably trickier to use than ever though. This is a list I'd like to try out - I have no illusions about it being good (it's very one-dimensional) but it looks fun. The TAG just goes and amuses itself to try and drag their list sideways to focus on it. Once that happens, the specialist link goes for objectives then drops into suppressive. TAG is the Lt because when all your eggs are in one basket why not. Also it gets the LT order.   8. Being kind of new, I play a lot of Recon. Even so, it's nice to get a game in on only an hour or two, it requires around 1/3 to 1/4 as much terrain as a full table, and it gives a good chance to experiment with combos. The downside is it's harder to use the longer range weapons, and the snipers are effectively useless as they'll rarely be outside 24" at best. Spitfires all the way. I figured it'd be an interesting thread to share some recon lists in vanilla and the different sectorials. I play JSA at the moment, or at least until I get a Su-Jian. This is a recon list I've had a lot of success with. The combos are pretty obvious but effective. Yojimbo for smoke, minesweeping (with the koalas), Rui Shi and hacker for active turn piece removal, Lu Duan as backup and holoechoes for mine clearing. Domaru's job is to die gloriously. He's pretty good at it, only one really shameful display so far. Otherwise he tends to take out whatever he's aimed at, just without any confidence he'll survive. The missile launcher is best when it can threaten ARO against some exit lanes on their DZ. It's a bit long ranged for recon tables but the EXP worries people. The link is usually the Kempei, paramedic and ML, they are good mid to late game for specialist objective nabbing. I used to have a Raiden HRL instead of the Lu Dian (and an engineer instead of the ML) but I found he was less useful than more firepower.   9. If your opponent likes trying to hack your HI (you said Nomads), maybe disguise the killer hacker kanren as a Hsien with HMG but leave an approach lane for a repeater. They can waste orders moving a repeater up and you can ARO their hacker. Then use their repeater to attack any other hackers in active turn. note I'm a noob but this seems like it'd work.
  10. I'm interested in the colorEd series too. It's either that or dive into a modeling project that will end with half my garage buried in half painted neo Tokyo and foam pieces and no space to squeeze through. At least that's how my attempt at a wm/h / mordheim / fantasy skirmish table ended up. I'd rather just buy usable stuff and run with it and spend time painting models.
  11. I've just started infinity and so far exclusively play JSA. Yojimbo + Rui Shi + keisotsu hacker + kempei + keisotsu FO are not a bad base for Recon. The keisotsu ML is also goodish. The Domaru is the cheapest LT with 0 SWC. Neko is a good upgrade for 3 points. Haramaki are better shots so their ML is nice and seems great in a full link. They're also dirt cheap HI. Raiden HRL is useful mainly for the mines and making them waste orders. I tend to hold ARO, he seems to need the burst in the active turn and the surprise shot. i have no claim to great experience but that's my beginner's suggestions. ive had limited luck with the oniwaban so far but I seem to put him in terrible spots. He seems to have potential.

Situational but disguising the madtrap Kanren as the madtrap Pheasant CoC then using your Lieutenant-eligible Rambo aggressively means you can hide a Celestial lieutenant somewhere while using the madtraps to guard an objective. It looks plausible and they can waste effort trying to dig out the wrong Lt. Of limited utility as you probably want the celestial in a Crane link. The four/eight Rui Shi trick if you feel like clogging your deployment zone. Yours is way more amusing, though my first thought looking at the list is "that's too many Kuang Shi" so like the Rui Shi trick it's obvious shenanigans are afoot. A s3 projector would be great as all the other remotes and the mobility form are s3 which would allow amusing shell tricks
