  1. Might share your thoughts on the lists? What do you intend to do (if going first or second)? With what models? Hard to discuss without this context. Two generals impressions: - Obvious LT is in attractive traget - a hafza disguised as a second Saladin might help. - Second combat group is in desperate need of some regular orders. One main value of warbands is the threat to dash forward into openings and wreak havoc once in template range. Without any regular order though, your warbands will be slow (even the bikes) and highly predictable.
  2. Hi Greg, welcome to the Assassins ! I understand your enthusiasm for a Muyib core as they look great on paper, but in my book it collides a bit with all the fancy order-eating maniacs the sector has to offer. That is why Ghulam Core (sometimes Muyib + Asawira Haris) is a much more popular in our area. Why? In your CG 1, Al Djabel and the Ragik can wreak Havoc and the Farzans are excellent objective grabbers, but only with enough orders. Should you go first, this group has only seven orders at all. If you do not plan to give the core link a lot of orders, Ghulam can fill out a defensive role nearly as good as the Muyibs at much lower pointcosts and SWC. As an example: Hassassin Bahram ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 GHULAM Lieutenant Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) GHULAM Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) GHULAM Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 16) GHULAM Rifle + Light Shotgun, Panzerfaust / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 15) LEILA SHARIF Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Shock Marksman Rifle, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20) 1 SWC | 75 Points Open in Infinity Army 2,5 long range aros, LT and a LT decoy for 50 Points less. You could easily swap the normal guy for a HMG for more active turn firepower or a missile launcher for a bigger aro threat. As an alternative use for Muyibs, I suggest you look into this thing of beauty: Hassassin Bahram ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 3 MUYIB (Fireteam: Haris) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Panzerfaust, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) MUYIB Doctor Plus (MediKit) Rifle + Light Shotgun, D.E.P. / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) ASAWIRA Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, Shock CCW. (2 | 43) 2.5 SWC | 95 Points Open in Infinity Army Easier to maneuver with only three miniatures, deadly firepower with burst 5 firepower, Asawira can eat a crit and keep moving forward, and brings a specialist as well. Concerning your second combat group, it is not very versatile with only one regular order. Either you burn a lot of Command Tokens, or your irregular maniacs will have a very limited reach per turn.
  3. Thanks for the nice batrep! One comment: it sounds as if the shihab killed multiple troopers in one aro; are you aware that you can shoot only one target in aro even with total reaction? Gesendet von meinem Moto G Play mit Tapatalk

  5. Thanks guys! Not much time since i am in preparation of my phd thesis defense, but the stairs got some paneling, the corners got acrylic advertisment boards and the mall had a dress rehearsal in the hobby room: The lighting looks kinda cool behind the microarts ad even with lights on, the windiws however are barely illuminted. Guess i need a more powerful LED.
  6. Some great advice in this thread! Two more suggstions for surviving first turn when going second that were not mentioned so far (sorry if it was and I did not see it): Fear. The other player will not come at your deployment zone when he is too afraid of what troopers at his own doorstep will do in your turn. Fidays are perfect for that. Example from a game I watched on a tournament: second player found a nice spot on a roof near the enemy deployment zone and place an impersonation marker prone there. It would have been one order for him to go to the edge of the roof and see couple of his troopers (at different spots, so one at a time was possible), so the opponent blew off that rambo-asault and hunted the fiday. Which costed him 4-5 orders to climb that roof (that ladder was also in line of sight of a Tuareg Sniper, who shot the first hunter). Three more orders to discover twice and kill (not that easy winning a firefight in cloase quarters against a shotgun). Two orders were already eaten by a command token, so that 10-order combat group was done, after one casualty on each side.
  7. Next, the windows, as requested by @zagdag with Kanjis. Step 1 Look for Kanjis in the Internet. Step 2: print them on a template Step 3: steal colored transparent plasticcard from your wifes artist-supply. Step 4: clip plasticcard and template together and paint the Kanjis Step 5: glue plasticcard with kanjis to the walls: And the Door: Acrylic tiles with hexagon engraving Cut into hexgon shape with tiny buzzsaw: Insert in Torii Visited my parents during the weekend, and i was able to save some LED including battery box from a terrible fate in the garbage Since so much is transparent now, lets light it up!
  8. I'm of the opinion this only has a 20% chance not to bring you irritation and annoyance of your fellow players. When everthing but moving reveals a holoecho, I think its quite obvious that it is not the intend of the rules to allow teleporting, suppressive firing Holos.
  9. Thought about that as well. I'll try how the shape of the box edge interacts with that. As you can see on the pictures, there is an outer lip (too narrow for a base) and then an arch before the main plattform is flat. Therefore you cannot stand on the egde, and being prone away from the egde gives you a huge blind spot on anything that is close by and below. We'll see. Intereseting, never thought of making it accessible. It might be too much abstraction for me, as I like this "the model is where it is and can see what the model can see"- characteristic of Infinity, even the silhouttes were too much abstraction for my taste. have to think about this one. a portaloo is great! definetly noted. Needed stowage space is always a big issue, so yes, I intend to use the inner space. So far, the board on top, stairways and Torii are removeable and will hopefully stay that way, so the box can be turned around again and filled with stuff. Aaaaandd... Progress: MicroArt holoboard on the side, first experiments with colors and some random scatter as examples on top.
  10. Turn 2 Lt. Chungsao flinched away from the window as bullets hit the wall next to him. His team was in a dire situation. With the haris team on the right flank gone and the sniper on the roof dead, the remaining forces were pinned down by a deadly crossfire between the tikbalang in the backalley and the hostile sniper on the other side of the plaza. The ISS still had superior numbers, but desperately lacked long-ranged firepower, and from the frequent explosions Chungsao could tell that the advancing Kuang Shi were taken out at an alarming rate. Running out of options, he restored order in the broken fireteam. "Tiger one to striketeam, the backalley is lost, repeat, backalley is lost. Concentrate on the remote in the building ahead!" "Tiger two, reform link and fog the plaza in!" With a muffled popping, several grenades were shot out of his building, covering wide areas of the plaza in thick smoke. "Dr. Unterholz, the enemy is blind, get the remote, MOVE!". The rogue panoceanian scientist (with sophotect-abilities) ran in zigzag routes to the building, opened the door, and connected her interface with the malfunctioning drone. Within seconds, she overrode the protocols, bringing the remote under her control. In an astonishing speed, both made it back into the ISS's deployment zone before the smoke dispersed or the mercenaries could react. On the right flank, the severely injured zhanying agent Lee partly regained consciousness due to automatic nanostimuly from his armor. He began to drag himself forward, but froze when he heard the heavy footsteps of the hostile TAG nearby. As he peaked around the corner, he could only watch as a hostile mercenary entered the alley under cover from the TAG and fixed the target-remote without interference. While the reprogrammed drone quickly moved in the direction the mercs came from, the trooper walked deeper into the alley. Lee could not see the troopeer, bur realised that this was the last location of dignified Hsien Agent Chen. A spark in his commlinkdisplay confirmed his fears, the enemy had just disconnected and salvaged chens communication device. A moment later, he heard LT. Chensaos voice over commlink. "One remote recovered, the other is lost. All forces retreat immediately." Cursing, the agent slowly crawled back in deeper into the shadows. The loss of a remote and the information leak due to the stolen commlink were a painful defeat for the jade door. Result: Primary: Retrieve Remotes: Jade Door 1 - DEC 1 Secondary: Salvage Enemy Technology: Jade Door 0 - DEC 1 Victory for the DEC, congratulations to Hydra!
  11. Thanks for the contribution, and yes thats exactly the kind of discussion I would like in this thread! The trees (and the whole cafe) Look amazing, I did not quite understand what the treecrown is made of exactly. As for the effects in the game: I am worried about too much Impact as well. There are 2 other 2-floor buildings and 1 3-floor buildings. At the moment, I plan too use the mall mainly on a flank touching or sticking over one table edge. I am a big fan of diagonal table builds with zigzag routes. To make the mallroof not too attractive, there will probably be no rails for cover and limited obstacles on the roof. Idealy it would be like: Yes you have a good view on top, but are also quite a sitting duck. Additionally, there should be more way s to get on the roof (ventilation system, elevator), So you can always get shot in the back when you stand on the egde overlooking the lower areas. This way, i hope to make the board more diverse without make the position a dominating ' must have'.
  12. I pass the compliment in to antenocitis, Plants and Sand come with The planters. As for the colors, I aim for some dirty/natural colors and some neon contrasts, to get a Cyberpunk atmosphere like in the poorer areas in GITS. 13. Thanks guys! I will check what diameter I need for the gaps, then keep my eyes open for fitting materials. In the meantime: Progress! Basecoat for the box: wooden board in blue-grey and some leftovers as paths and plattforms on it: Oriental Planters as example on top:
  14. Thanks a bunch! Advice on the windows is good, maybe I combine the little ones with 1-2 bigger, where I will improvise a frame. Colors: yeah there are some orange acrylic parts ready to be used, but the red/orange Torii are historical....hmmm. Are cables from the do-it-yourself store as ducts a good idea or are there better alternatives?
  15. Thanks! Actually there are some planters from Antonocitis around that would fit nicely, and could be combined with the food booths I have in mind. I am sceptical about the railing, as the elevated area should not be too advantageous for the minis, or it would dominate the game to much. From a realistic/safety point of view it's a must have of course.
