  1. How do you add the 75 points of mercs for 1 SWC on army builder now?
  2. Hey all, I recently took the plunge and started playing Infinity, and picked up a bunch of Haqqislam mostly on the cheap. Here's a list of the models I've picked up. My next purchase planned at this point is the dire foes 6 pack for Leila Sharif, Any help with list making with what I have and/or what I should add next is appreciated.
  3. Hi again Another new person question that I've been struggling with today that I suspect has no right answer but I'd like to hear peoples thoughts. I was drawn to Yu Jing because I just really liked the models and I got the chance to split a Red Veil box with the owner of my FLGS. With only a single game under my belt I traded for an ISS starter to get some more models and got drawn down the ISS path. The agents, the Wu Ming and Kuang Shi fluff sounded great and I was getting hammered by opponents using fire teams so I wanted them too. So my question really is what am I missing that makes people want to play vanilla Yu Jing over either ISS or JSA? The way I understand it in vanilla you have access to everything but at reduced AVA numbers which I guess might be nice where as in a sectorial you get less choice, can have more of things and get to play with fire teams. In my very limited experience I've found the order efficiency of having fire teams is so useful when you don't start with many orders anyway that I can't really see what playing vanilla brings to the table. Am I missing something fundamental in my noobness or is it really just a personal style thing?

  5. As the title suggests, I have been thinking about what it would be like to limit yourself to using only your faction's + sectorial's unlimited AVA troop as your only unit in a list. The reason I included the faction's/vanilla's total AVA in the sectorial choices is because some sectorial's unlimited AVA troop don't have a Lt. option (Military Orders, Shasvastii, Onyx, Steel Phalanx, etc...). Aleph and Hassassins are unique in that they don't have an unlimited AVA unit. Shasvastii can't form a core fireteam with their unlimited AVA unit. I was thinking of allowing Shas players the option of taking a Gwailos link and the Hassassins being able to have non-linked Govads in their lists. Maybe just having non-linked Gwalios would be good enough for Shas players? Would that be considered too powerful for the limited force options this challenge allows? Should Kratot Renegades & Le Muet be included as options? What do you gals and guys think? List Building Rules: 1. You can only use your faction's/sectorial's AVA total unit unless you are allowed to add another unit as part of a fireteam. 2. Dire Foes characters are allowed to be used in the list as part of a fireteam or on their own. 3. Sectorials that don't have a Lt. option on their AVA total unit can use their faction's Vanilla total AVA unit if they are able to take them in that sectorial (Military Orders, etc...). This also applies to linkteams such as NCA being able to use a Fusilier core-linkteam since Auxila can't form a link. 4. Sectorials that don't have a Lt. option on their AVA total unit can take units that are allowed to link with them or not if so choose (Onyx, etc...). For example, Nexus Operatives can link with Unidron Batroids but you can also take the max amount of Nexus since Batroids need a hacker to be fielded. 5. Vanilla Aleph can use both the max amount of Thoraktai & Myrmidons and is allowed to take 1 Enomotarchos character. Steel Phalanx can only run 1 link in a list and therefore can only take 1 Enomotarchos character. I don't know what unit would be considered the Vedic AVA total troop so I didn't include one. 6. While heavier units like Grey Rifles, Umbra Legates & Crane Agents can link with their sectorial's AVA total unit it is encouraged to showcase lists that don't use them. However, you are allowed to include these units and remotes (Chaksa for Tohaa) if you wish. Units like the Grey Rifles, Umbra Legates & Crane Agents can only be in a list as part of a fireteam. 7. Tohaa are allowed 1 triad in their lists. 8. Warcors are allowed. Spec-Ops can be used but like linkable heavy infinity it is encouraged to showcase lists that don't use them.   6. Hi everyone. @Vaulsc and his video have gotten me thinking about the options for Fireteam Core which are available to us as PanOceania players. I thought I'd break them down sectorial by sectorial and give my perspective and experiences. Although I am an NCA commander first and foremost I've got a collection which includes all three PanOceania sectorial forces and I love each in their own way. Hopefully that comes through in my writeups. I'm going to cover each sectorial in a separate post, starting with Acontecimento. I'll be including "add on" options like Bipandra, Konstantinos and Joan along with the units where they can be included and will discuss those alongside the Fireteams where they can feature. As always I'd appreciate your thoughts and ideas, please treat these as conversation starters and not as some kind of pronouncement from the mountain. (0 | 10) As a Fireteam the Acontecimento Regulars are a source of strength and intense frustration. Although the perform the role of light infantry team in Acontecimento they have an unusual set of weapon and equipment options for that purpose, as well as SWC costs which vary from the standard. Most notable here is the Spitfire instead of an HMG and the lack of a Missile Launcher option. Although these changes are well justified by their position within the setting, it does alter their tabletop performance in less than ideal ways. The Spitfire demands an advance in order to engage at ideal ranges and the lack of a Missile Launcher removes a strong ARO option. While the Sapper skill on the Multi-Sniper is useful, this is perhaps slightly less so in a Fireteam (although it can allow better use of limited cover) and particularly a team which will otherwise want to move up the table. In terms of specialists the expected range is available, but once more shows wrinkles which add to the complexity of the overall choice. Firstoff the 0.5 SWC charge on the Forward Observer is unjustified (especially when compared to similar options within Haqqislam, who have even better access to forward deployed speculative fire weapons) and frustrating for a force who (like all of PanOceania) desperately need their SWC to be invested into firepower options to overwhelm enemy units that the army has no real options for avoiding. The Hacker/LGL is interesting, especially with the FastPanda, although useful as a package it again represents SWC tied up in a place many would not typically have spent it. The Hacker and Sensor/Minelayer do both continue the theme of close engagement however, adding additional close range utility and encouraging the Fireteam to advance on the enemy. These two options also leverage the key advantage of the Regulars over their Fusilier competition, their superior WP, and thus represent important additions. Of course, you can simply run the Paramedic option, not because you’ll ever heal anyone with it (PH being the other stat, alongside WP, at which PanOceania is particularly poor), but just because it gets you a button pusher in a link that’ll be moving up the table (in all likelihood) without it costing you any SWC. The unique features of this Fireteam are the 0 armour, which makes them very crunchy/squishy/soft targets. Of course they did get something for that downgrade, and it’s their WP bonus which I’ve already covered and the Jungle Terrain rule. Like all terrain capabilities this is exactly as good as your tables let it be, although it IS fair to note that even less than ideal terrain impacts light infantry less than some other units. Still, the most common “non-standard” terrain is the kind that Jungle will allow you to mitigate and this does play into the mobile role which the Fireteam is encouraged towards in other ways. Overall the Acontecimento Regulars Fireteam Core option is a strong one for Acontecimento sectorial players. It offers a great opportunity to upgrade a cheap group of cheerleaders into a legitimate threat on the tabletop. Although not ideally suited to the long range fire support role which similar Fireteams excel at, they can serve in this capacity where necessary and the Sapper ability on their Snipers can even make them quite effective when they do. The combination of their Spitfire, cheap LGL, good Hacker and the Sensor option as well as their Jungle Terrain ability gives a better option however. Acontecimento Regulars truly excel when used as a more aggressive Fireteam, advancing into the mid-field to contribute to the mission and engage and destroy enemy threats which stand in their way. STEPHEN RAO Combi Rifle / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23) One of the first hurdles which Bagh-Mari have to overcome in the eyes of many Infinity players is their Medium Infantry status. Or, rather, the 4-2 move value which they have (mainly as a result of being Medium Infantry, though it is true that some MI have other values, and some units that are not MI are likewise restricted). Although this can be an issue for units which are expected to cover maximum ground as quickly as possible, or close range assault style units, I would argue that the Bagh-Mari would be poor choices for either role and that this “penalty” impacts on them less than it otherwise might. Once that initial conceptual hurdle is overcome the most important aspect of a discussion of Bagh-Mari will be their special skills package. The combination of Mimetism and MSV1 along with the potential bonuses from a Fireteam create a powerful advantage in most firefights. Against the very common Camo units which are present on most Infinity battlefields they are as effective as a Swiss Guard, while bringing more wounds and a wider range of abilities to the field of battle. At the same time their three terrain skill options also help to mitigate the risk of their movement profile turning into a real disadvantage on the wrong table. In terms of firepower, although their standard loadout includes the Light Shotgun and there are Boarding Shotgun and Assault Pistol loadouts available, the option to take HMG and Multi-Sniper as heavy weapons push the Bagh-Mari towards an “all ranges” role rather than up close and personal gunfighters. Leveraging PanOceania BS and these long range weapons, along with their firefight-defining special abilities package, Bagh-Mari can confidently reach out and eliminate enemy units in ARO at any point on the table as they advance. With their above-average WP for a PanOceania unit the specialist options available to them, an Assault Hacker or Paramedic, can be effective tools for missions. The inclusion of D-Charges on the Number 2 Boarding Shotgun profile only adds another tool to the belt of this wide range package of options, both for Classified Missions and for property destruction and Assault Hacker CC-combo fun. Last but not least the Minelayer skill on the Multi-Sniper both adds utility to that option alone and brings another tool to the Fireteam, allowing them to assist in deployment defence and contribute to complicating the mid-field for your opponents. Although no longer as essential as he once was (prior to HSN3 Bagh-Mari had only Availability 4 in Acontecimento, so you needed to add a 5th for your +3 BS) Lt Stephen Rao is a good option. Bringing an Assault Pistol (for active turn engagements in close against individuals) as well as enhanced stats (mostly irrelevant unless you take the Lt option) he doesn’t break the bank and puts something “else” on your list of options. Their reasonable cost, wide range of skills and effective combat ability at all ranges make the Bagh-Mari a fantastic option to consider for a Fireteam Core. You might want to consider fast or forward deploying units to compliment them, for those games where losing 2” of move an order is going to make a difference, but they are well worth your consideration. And they do have beautiful new models too!

Sorta just picked models that looked great and remembering good rules from last time. What makes this sect worth playing? Sell it to me! Here's a list I was thinking about. Kanren is on objective duty but the zhanying hacker or peasant could also do that. Imp agent is CoC for if the Hsien goes down. He can free agent over. The other faction I'm considering is Haqq HB sect. which tbh feels like the more competitive list but this has the better models. HELP! Thanks!

The list gets a little bit piecemeal at this point. I added the Fiday just to make my opponent worried, the lasiq for the odd viral rifle shot and the barid hacker for defense. The other faction I'm considering is Yu Jing ISS sect. which I think has the nicer models but I think this list is stronger. HELP!

  11. Hi all So I just started with Infinity a few weeks ago. My general procedure whenever I get into a new game is to start with more than one faction/side (just the starters) and see which I like best. Unfortunately in this case I wasn't able to find starters when I was looking for the two factions I liked the look of: PanO and Yu Jing. So I ended up buying a bunch of individual blisters instead. Now I'd like to build a JSA army. What I have so far is Saito Togan, Shinobu Kitsune, a merc, and 2 Keisotsu Butai. The merc is the new biker one, so I can proxy her as an Aragoto if I need to for my first few games Can anybody help me come up with a list that uses at least one of those characters and the other 3 units, and that I can build with a reasonably low monetary budget? I guess I'm looking to spend less than 100$ on what I need to finish a 300-pt army, if possible. And if there's some way I can work an O-Yoroi in there that would be awesome
  12. I've been out of the loop for a while - you may have noticed that before I started posting recently, I hadn't posted in almost a year - but N3 brought me back. Anyway, two of the things I've been eagerly looking forward to are new sectorial armies we are supposed to be seeing soon: the Vedic sectorial for ALEPH and, more importantly, the Tunguska sectorial for Nomads. While chatting between games at my FLGS this evening, I was surprised to hear several rumors about Tunguska, specifically that Grenzers and Securitate are going to be linkable, that we're going to get some kind of Holoprojector infiltrator, and a TO camo HI. I was floored and, more importantly, excited. So... I'm wondering what else you all might have heard during the months I wasn't paying attention. And because this thread should be useful for more than just me, I suppose it can serve as a general roundup of rumors regarding the Tunguska sectorial.

  14. I'm probably going off the deep end here and overthinking this. Much noobishness may be on display. This is your trigger warning. :/ I'm a big fan of the whole Hassassin sect and it's placement as "the intelligence organization" and the like. I may also be under the misapprehension that the purpose of a sectorial is to provide a theme and possibly an alternative style of play over that of the regular "vanilla" allotments. Is there a point to the Hassassin Bahram? Looking at the AVA for the sectorial I find it rather lackluster. Daylami and Ghulam are restricted in numbers. The actual "Hassassin" models do have an increased AVA... typically by 2. (Ok, Muyibs are by 4), When I sit down and ponder an "Assassin" list I rarely find myself really stretching the generic AVA at all. I have to purposefully decide to create a fireteam of... something... rather than picking troops and naturally arriving at one. It's something I do find myself stumbling into when I play around with Qapu Khalqi. But I never really find myself thinking... "If only I could use a fourth Ragik." I just don't get it. Too much vanilla on my part? Lack of immersion? Perhaps I'm a poor fan of the concept?

First the obvious ones: Druze AVA total Scarface and Cordelia AVA1 Anaconda AVA1 or 2 maybe Than some of the standard Remotes, maybe with a slightly higher AVA to make up for some drawbacks. And than the "evil" Mercs, which for me are: Saito Togan Senor Massacre Yuan Yuan Bashi Bazook On a questionable place are for me: Yojimbo Musashi Valerya McMurrough A no are probably: Avicenna Cateran Keisostu Kaplan ABHs and their characters, I wouldn't expect to go into a "criminal" Sectorial like that, even though I'd love Sforca. CSU are in a kind of similar situation, but might be possible, they would give the Sectorial at least some order monkey besides Druze, which the ABHs don't. I haven't read the Wardrivers fluff yet (but their name sounds appropriate), but I suppose they fit and could be in there if Valerya is not included. IIRC there are rumours of a kind of mercenary general character called Hawkwood, this guy would somehow tackled the Lt. problem the sectorial has with these units. Other roles that are missing are Doctors and Engineers, since Kaplan are out. Maybe they hire Clockmakers and Daktaris? Work together with Irmadhinos? AVA1 Tomcat maybe? No FO besides the Remotes is also something thats totally missing here, so I kind of expect a new Merc unit with such a option. A Skirmisher would fit the bill best and give the Sectorial something that infiltrates as well. haven't read the Bandits fluff yet, but again the name would fit!? So in summery maybe something like this: Druze AVA Total linkable Anaconda AVA2 Hawkwood Scarface and Cordellia Saito Togan Senor Massacre Yojimbo Yuan Yuan AVA 2 Irmadhinos AVA 2 Daktari or Tomcat AVA 1 Wardriver AVA 2 CSU AVA 3 maybe linkable? Reaktion Remote AVA 2 Sensor Remote AVA 2 Smart Missile Remote AVA 1 Sniffer Remote AVA 2 Baggage Remote AVA 2 plus a new Skirmisher with AVA2 or 3? Or the Bandits? All in all this would look like a rather reasonable Sectorial to me. What do you think? No MSV though. Maybe they could by some Rui Shi?
  16. I like a lot of the Vedic units (Asura ), and I know a lot of people have been yearning for a Vedic sectorial. However, I'd like to talk about an idea for a Posthuman sectorial. Posthumans are a very different unit, specific to Aleph. And I think they've got potential for a sectorial with really different flavour. They could add a few more versions of existing Posthuman mark models, and increase the number of Posthumans you can have in an army. My idea would be to give all Posthumans the ability to act sort-of as linked troops; one order can activate multiple bodies of the same Posthuman, but only one is the main; the rest are run by a limited personality construct and have a penalty (-3?) on BS or CC rolls. Also, there would be no limit on the positioning, so the different bodies can be positioned across the whole map. This on one hand is better than linked team since there is no need to maintain the team members within zone of control, but it is also worse because the Posthuman doesn't get any bonuses. Furthermore, I'd give each Posthuman one regular order, plus one irregular order for each of his other bodies, which can be spent only on him. So a Posthuman with Mark I, Mark II and Mark III would contribute 1 regular order to the army pool, plus 2 irregular orders that are usable only on that Posthuman. What do you think? I'd really like to hear your thoughts and ideas.
  17. So, I am not actually an Aleph player (we have too many locally) but I will be really really sad if I don't get to fight against sexy robot lady sectorial for another several years. Also I like thinking about game design stuff. So, here's some thoughts on a Vedic / Posthuman* sectorial. AVA for existing models: Deva: 6 Sophotects: 2 Asura: 3 Nagas: 4 Dasyus: 4 Marut: 2 Posthumans: 2 (see below) Dakini: T Garuda: 3 Daleth: 2 Zayin: 2 Samekh: 2 Lamedh: 4 Netrods: 4 New Stuff: Currently SSS is missing MI and WB. Probably should fill one of these slots. The problem is Aleph is awash in WBs and Devas are basically better than most MI. On the balance, though, Aleph _really_ doesn't need more warbands. New MI -- What should they have? SSS already has most great MI stuff (MSV, Mimetism, NWI, etc) on other troops. No idea. BS13 marksman + visor maybe? Character Asura Maybe some profile / unit that can link with Dakini. Yes, we have not had any REM links yet, but they are probably coming eventually and if any faction should have them it would be SSS. Make it like the Zerat and require the linking model to travel with them, slowing their speed. A new Deva lt profile to allow them to travel with the link. A non-hacker Deva specialist (probably a forward observer) A new rule of some kind. Links: Deva (without the Devabot versions) Asura + Character Asura New MI Maybe Dakinis only with Linking Device How to handle multiple Posthumans per army: Each Posthuman has its own contingent of bodies. These must be in separate combat groups. Just like in Vanilla, each one of them can only have one of each Mk. A single netrod, anywhere on the board, can let them bail out of a dead host. Maybe, in lieu of a link, allow a posthuman to operate all of their bodies as if linked, while still only providing one order. Honestly, SSS is almost "done" as a sectorial. They have 8-10 units (depending on how you count) already available, which is comparable to the smaller sectorials. They just need a touch of filling out (and, to be frank, AVA 6 linkable Devas is more than enough to make them competitive.) yrs-- --Ben * Yes, I know that CB said they wanted to do a whole Posthuman sectorial on its own but I don't think that's likely so.

Link to the Al-Medinat here; I have seen we have an old thread that covers both topics, but lets seperate them and bring back the good ideas. What do we know about the Kharnate. It is a rough and lawless mountain/rocky desert. The people there are hardy and rugged, and it is a refuge for outlaws and mercenaries. Kum bikers are a good example of this. I would envision the sectorials' theme being a mix of the Desert Rats daring, the resolve of modern Haqq and a bit of brash bravodo of people who live in an unforgiving enviroment. A rag-tag group of under-equiped, dogged fighters always ready for a piece of the action. We want: - female variants of existing male models - male variants of existing female models - female and male variants of existing hermaphrodite models - hermaphrodite variants of existing male and female models - not overly sexualized resculpts of sexually objectified models - sexually objectified resculpts of not overly sexualized models - all missing releases, including the linkable female Caskuda on a motorbike - all missing factions and sectorials, like O-12 or the Imperial Clerical Service bureaucrat sub-sectorial - to know the limits of Bostria's, Interruptor's and other Infinity devs' tolerance for silly, humorous and outright retarded requests of the fanatic peat - cylinders (filled with something good) - fix / clear up all the rules that are currently ambiguous in any way - change all the rules that are currently ambiguous in any way, making them horrible/even more ambiguous in the process - space marines (to shoot at; seriously, what are they gonna do against B 3 and Dmg 13?) - Infinity to be more 40k-friendly, so we can have more players - Infinity to be less 40k-friendly, to preserve superior rule and make us feel superior - more models - fewer models - and a partridge in a pear tree.   22. So, CA can normally take either Corax or Treitak in Campaign: Paradiso. This can lead to such situations as a Treitak supporting a Shasvastii force or a Corax in a Morat detachment. This is a necessity in the campaign so as not to make a precious Spec-Op sit out, but how about ITS tournament scenarios played with sectorial lists? Can I take a Treitak with a Shasvastii list? If no, are out-of-sectorial Spec-Ops builds (e.g. Celestial Guard-based in JSA) illegal in other factions as well?

Since I need something to keep me alive in this vile time of gaming-abstinence as I am currently trying to finish uni, I decided that I shall reward myself in a month by starting a Neoterran force As luck has it a dear friend of mine heard about it and gave me a bunch of miniatures he had lying around as a gift. So now I am trying to figure out what to get next so I can get them up to 300 Pts and on the table as soon once I've got time again. So far I have: The TAG (I hope the Clausewitz will also be released soon, it looks promising ), 1 Swiss Guard,1 Aquila and two Auxilias. I assume the first thing I wanna do is get more Auxilias, but i'd be thankful for some advice on this. -the Dandy

I was wondering what some thoughts or suggestions of others on the forums were in regards to this list I put together (and more specifically JSA in general and how they play). What do you think its strengths and/or weaknesess are? Assuming you had any model in the range, how would your list differ? I am trying to get a feel for how this sectorial would play. I opted for speed and versatility. Not running Paradiso missions at the moment, but not straight kill them all either, typically YAMS style missions. Also looking at a cap of 250 currently.   25. Hello Nomads! In just a few weeks I will be fighting my very first Infinity battle, and I have sided with Bakunin. What i'm really looking for here is some guidance with small list building with the minis that I have and also some rough ideas on tactics with these guys. There have been several references to a Bakunin heavy thread with unit breakdowns but all links to it I've seen appear to be dead Anyway we are starting at 150pts and I have the following minis ready to be assembled: 1 x Bakunin Jurisdictional Command 1 x Extra moderator 1 x Extra zero (from the regular starter box) 1 x Prowler with ADHL 1 x Prowler with spitfire (my favourite Nomad mini) 1 x Box of Morlocks (sent to me by mistake when I ordered the old morlock blister, win!)
