  1. Okay, so, after some discussion on the forums, I'm taking a second stab at Steel Phalanx. I've only played in-store practice games, never played a full list of my own before. (0 | 4) 6 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army ---------- Basic thoughts on tactics: 3 fireteams, each w a specialist, active turn, and range roundup. Agema as a sniper/MSV bearer. Figure with it's range, the agema won't have too much of an issue using the 2 orders that group starts with solo, and can command token it or the netrod into the main group when casualties start coming in. This set up would also mean even if I get turn 1 command tokened, I'd still basically have 9 orders to feed 3 groups, while if I receive I'd be able to set up some fairly unpleasant T1 AROs without taking huge risks of getting a group neutered by orders. As for the fireteams: The Thoracati can play backfield/support, especially discouraging turn one AD troops w those visors & chain rifles, or backup an advance with their slower movement. The myrmidons would get going for objectives in the midfield with better survivability due their ODDs/smoke/eclipse. Hector's unit would work one of the sides/help counterforce since they have such a toolkit. They also have the nimbus grenades to contribute to the visibility shenanigans. Main questions -------------- I really like the idea/options of 3 smaller fireteams, I know the 2x4 is more common/grants SSL2. I just kind of want to know how much I'll be punished for that. I could probably get 4 man teams or a single 5 man by dropping the Agema. Or even drop netrods/dial back the Thoracati's specialist to get one more in there. I'm also considering the idea of swapping a killer hacking device & bots in for the Agema. I like the MSV sniper though, and thought it could be nice to use some of that burst 2 smoke . Thoughts on taking a second medic vs the FO with my last point? I honestly don't know how useful FO is, and it seems like WP 13 medics aren't the absolute worst thing in the world.
  2. Namaste, fellow Aleph players. I have been interested in Infinity basically since it first hit the market, but only recently, with Christmas fast approaching and family and friends asking what I wanted, did I put aside the time to actually sit down and pick through all the faction details and models to figure out which one I liked the most (not an easy task I must say). In the end, weighing the range of miniatures, the fluff, and the play-style, I was drawn to the Aleph. With the faction decided I got to work learning everything I could; studying forums, videos, and the game rules to give myself the best jumping off point as possible. With an adequate grasp of where I wanted to go with my list I set out the following guidelines for myself and set to work: 1) The game is very well balanced and anything can be playable; that means that visual appeal comes first... and for me that means a majority of Vedic inspired Ghost in the Shell style Vanilla Aleph units would form the base of my force. 2) ITS missions need a Hacker, Doctor, Engineer, and Forward Observer to be played, so I will be including at least one of each. 3) Aleph lieutenants are obvious targets, and are too costly to hide away and do nothing... so embracing that, I tried to include a back up plan in the form of chain of command. 4) Smoke lends itself very well to any list, especially if one of your models has a MSV like the Asura. 5) Post-Humans with their low cost, versatility, and fantastic profiles (and miniatures) were a must include. 6) A variety of weapons and deployment types to cover a spread of ranges, targets, and battlefield roles. 7) Maximize the number of orders without losing out on units to activate with those orders. And all that got me to here: ALEPH ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 DEVA Lieutenant (Sensor) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. I think I covered most of the things a list needs, and I did my best to pick the most optimal option for the models that I enjoy, but having never personally played a game of Infinity I am sure I could be overlooking some important detail (like the fact that I couldn't squeeze the HMG Ekdromos in without losing a Dakini, the monpofilament mines off the Naga, and the sensor off the Deva). Please let me know what you think!
  3. So, this is the first list I've built on my own. Played sample games and watched some videos. Trying to do something a little different than the 2x4 Team builds that it seems like everyone is running. Has a specialist. Would prefer to have diomedes or the other one equipped for a different range band, but chain rifle fit, and will make it harder to outflank/hunt down my one guy. Between MA:3 and super jump, should hopefully get some work done hunting cheerleaders and snipers and/or forcing my opponent to spend orders in her own backfield. Myrmidon Contingent - Phoenix/Officer/Chain Rifle Fireteam - Have something for most of the range brackets, this would be the higher risk team with smoke/eclipse/ODD and can claim objectives and/or counterforce enemy units in the midfield. Has some good active turn platforms and utility. Dactyl Contingent - Hektor/Acmon/Dactyl Doc - Again, something for most range brackets, what seem like solid active turn platforms, specialists. Options to disrupt opponent's strategy. Teucer - 'nuff said? Overwatch with real potential on active turn -------------- Questions: How do ODD and fireteams interact? Phoenix doesn't have one? Effectiveness of Ekdromoi? Myrmidon officer vs Myrmidon hacker? I want a specialist in both teams and CoC counts/has good utility, and I like eclipse grenades, BUT I also don't really know much about hacking as a strategic choice. Esp w Steel Phalanx. Are 10 orders [9 + Strategos 1] enough for a build that will have 4-5 units competing for them?

  5. Owen and I continue working our way through the new scenarios from ITS Season 9 with 'Acquisition!' as I test out my new army for this season; Steel Phalanx!
  6. Using a combination of "I already have some of the models" and "will make doing demo's easier" I, justified jumping in with an ISS stater and a Hsien MULIT Rifle. From vanilla ALEPH, so I already have dakini, a garuda and a sophotect (also Knauf/ bounty hunter sniper) and I know the game. Any words of wisdom to help me serve the Emperor? How will I have to adapt my play style? What should I consider getting next? Which profiles are traps of better than I think? Are ninja worthwhile in ISS? Is this too many questions?
  7. Greetings ! Started painting infinity some time ago (it goes more slowly than I've thought at first), these was first results (My plan is to try to get close to the box art color scheme). Still thinking on bases about LoS arcs, so they are not fully complete... Would appreciate advices on how to improve painting further. Proxy Doctor/Engineer: Sophotect: Dakini Tacbot: Netrods:
  8. Ok so I got all my Aleph models assembled and ready to base. I know of a method I could use to make the “studio bases” but it’s not exactly quick. Besides Upon thinking about it and realizing that they sell the studio style base design, I thought maybe I want something different than the other 75% of Aleph armies. Here is were I am stuck. What else aside from the typical hex pattern or studio style ? What would fit an aleph army well and also cover the slot so I don’t have to pin. It’s time like these I wish I did USAri cause then I get to do rocks flocks and gravel and I am very comfortable with that. But I would like my aleph to be cool. If all else fails I will pain stakingly pannel line the compas cut plasticard and make studio style. I just wanted to see what suggestions I get. I just now thought maybe factory style ?
  9. So a friend who I recently introduced to Infinity took advantage of the Wotan sale to start an Aleph force and then asked me to paint it for him. He asked for the studio scheme and I found it a good chance to try and improve my technique. And since he didn't want the support pack but did want netrods I scratch built them for him Robert

(0 | 27) 4.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army We started with drawing Classifieds, re-drawing cards that used the HVT. I got Data Scan and Kevin got Telemetry. I won the WIP roll off and decided to make my opponent deploy first as I always have difficulty deploying against Ariadna and their shenanigans. Kevin graciously gives me first turn. My Data Tracker was the Marut, his was the 112. I deployed fairly defensively as my list isn’t designed to punish my opponent’s advance, relying on picking off models in the active turn with the Marut. My officer deployed prone on my left flank, tucked well away in the building. Dakini, Lamedh, Danavas, Yudbot and my Sophotect kept the left flank busy and the Thorakites and another Yudbot (Proxied by the Krakata) hung out on the right. Finally the Marut and her buddy the Myrmidon went down as far forward as possible to start smoking things up. Kevin deployed surprisingly defensive, putting a lot of models behind total cover and prone. A few camo markers went down in cover put covering some lanes, leading me to assume they were his heavy hitters. One camo went down in the square building to my left and another maker also made an infiltrate roll and deployed in the centre building, on the first floor. One hand shake and command token used to stop me using more than one and we were away. I started off by throwing a smoke grenade on top of the crates, advancing the Big Gal and attempting the reveal the camo marker parked on top of the crates, failing the 12 I needed. Another order allowed her to discover a mine that was next to the beacon. My fourth order saw the Myrmidon try his luck at spotting the marker the Marut couldn’t see, again failing. The Marut advanced, shooting the mine with 2 orders to no avail, the mine passing 3 saves on 19’s. She decided to Discover another token on the left flank hiding behind some barrels, unveiling a bundle of sticks with a tarp pulled over them. Tanking the mine and moving behind the building with Armand on top, Kevin revealed a Chasseur reacting by forward observing the Marut but received an exploded head for its trouble. She eventually climbed up, shrugging off a Stun shot from Armand but taking a wound from the 112’s LSG. Couple of orders trying to take the 112 and Armand down led to her taking another wound from Armand’s breaker pistol and a wound on Armand and the 112 finally going down. Kevin started his turn by moving a camo marker that was on the same balcony the 112 was, I decided to delay and it kept moving. With my suspicions moving to a tank hunter trying to get out of 8”, he moved it again and surprise shot my Marut, she responded by flaming him but got hit by both shots, passing 5 of her 6 saves, putting her to Unconscious. The Tank hunter also melted away, failing both his saves but getting the job done (This model never fails Kevin). Armand, seeing a downed TAG decided that spending 2 orders to snap it’s neck was a good way to make sure she didn’t come back. The camo marker that the Myrmidon and Marut failed to discover reveals itself to be a Spetsnaz HMG and surprise shot the Zayin, taking it down while the Myrmidon threw a smoke grenade out to cover himself and the Netrod. Dog Warrior moves up a little and the Spetsnaz re cammos. With my turn coming around and down to 8 orders, I combine order with the Dakini, Sophotect and Myrmidon, moving up to get in place for ARO’s and covering an advance with smoke. Myrmidon then spends a few orders smoking a path to the beacon, grabbing it and running alllll the way back to my deployment zone and into the building on my right, dropping prone and clutching the beacon. My last order goes to combine suppressing with the Dakini, Sophotect, Thorakites and Danavas. Kevin bursts out of the gates with his Dog Warrior, smoke dodging everything the Sophotect and Dakini can throw at him. Spotting that these suppressors can be picked off before the Dog Warrior moves further, Kevin picks Armand up and picks off both targets with ease. Dog Warrior tips his beanie to Armand and runs to pick up the Beacon, running back behind the building with the Satellite Array and combining an order to move the Unknown Ranger, Armand and the Camo Token nearest me to better positions. Seeing that I don’t have anything heavy enough to pick off the dog warrior, I decide to try and hack a model for Data Scan. The Danavas spends an order climbing up the building she was against, managing to avoid any ARO’s. She then shot 2 Pitchers only god knows where needing 8’s to get them close enough. The last one sticks however, leaving me with 2 orders to scan the Dog Warrior. The dog warrior resets the first attempt and the second attempt is a miss, leaving me with at best a draw. Kevin starts with 7 orders, cancelling his impetuous with one as we weren’t sure if I could ARO with Data Scan (We confirmed after that I can’t, but wanted to be sure). Armand moves over to see the Danavas and smokes her, allowing the Dog Warrior to stroll on to his DZ. Van Zant makes an appearance, coming in on my right hand table edge, near the Myrmidon (Now in the foetal position). He starts moving towards his prey, bursting his head through the door like that scene from the shining, the Myrmidon throws smoke and puts his faith in his ODD, both sides critting and bringing an end to the game. Then Kevin started measuring how close the Myrmidon was to my edge and all I could taste was salt. Half an inch from it being a draw. Result - 4-3 to Ariadna Reflections · I really need to stop pushing the Marut in the first turn. I’ve lost her this way enough times to know that she’s not invincible. Saying that, she did well below average because of the dice, something that Kevin did feel sort of sorry about. · Ariadna aren’t as bad in Limited Insertion as I thought they were. · If you think you’re in your deployment zone and the game rests on it, spend that extra order to make sure.
  11. I was doing a list of all the female models in infinity because I was just curious who had the most female models. I did get stuck on something though, do batdroids count as male or female or genderless? They are controlled by and sort of represent a giant female AI so I wasn't sure. Same with ALEPH what do those constructs count as if anything? OF course this is not to demonstrate how sexist infinity is or whatever, we already have people who talk about that. This is merely for my own curiosity which was sparked by this thread.
  12. Ok dudes here the deal, I've been playing aleph for a few years now but only started playing with any regularity a few months ago. I'm mostly playing a friend of mine who lives nearby and the situation is bleak. Basically I'm getting thrashed. I mean reeeaaally thrashed. Most games I'm tabled by turn 2, or I just have to forfeit. And this has been going on for a while, he used to play pano but has since stopped because it just wasn't fun for him anymore so to give himself a challenge he's now playing US Ariadna and after tonight's games where I once again got destroyed he's talking about switching to combined to shake things up. i have played several different lists but this is my most recent one. Aleph - Untitled Roster (300/300 | 6/6)Group #1 | 10 Models | 10 0 0 Asura Hacker Lieutenant | Hacking Device Plus: UPGRADE: Redrum, Lieutenant, Nanopulser, Combi Rifle, Pistol / AP CCW (72) Proxy Mk.4 Heavy Rocket Launcher | Heavy Rocket Launcher, Submachine Gun, Nanopulser, Pistol / Knife (20) Proxy Mk.5 Observer | Forward Observer, Submachine Gun (2), E/M Grenades, Nanopulser, Pistol / Knife (10) Proxy Mk.2 MULTI Sniper Rifle | Nanopulser, MULTI Sniper Rifle, Pistol / Knife (24) Sophotect Doctor+Engineer | Combi Rifle, D-Charges, Pistol / Knife (31) Yudbot Servant | Electric Pulse (3) Yudbot Servant | Electric Pulse (3) Zayin Rebot HMG | HMG / Electric Pulse (26) Zayin Rebot HMG | HMG / Electric Pulse (26) Myrmidon Chain Rifle | Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades, Chain Rifle, Pistol / AP CCW (16) Myrmidon Combi | Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades, Combi Rifle, Pistol / AP CCW (25) Dasyu Observer | Forward Observer, Nanopulser, Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines, Pistol / Knife (36) Netrod AI Beacon | (4) Netrod AI Beacon | (4) the zayin seem to give him trouble and people seem to be pretty jazzed on poste humans, I've got the dasyu, sophotec and mk 5 for objective grabbing and the asura/myrmidons try to smoke + msv things to death. i know this list looks a bit odd but for the most part I don't really enjoy the look of steel phalanx units so I have tried to keep away in the past, however I'm getting to the point that I don't care anymore so I've slowly added them in (though as few as possible) his list is a 5 man link supported by squishes, two tractor mules, black jack and vanzant after tonight's predictable slaughter I made this list on the fly. Allso the large flame dtw's are fairly cheap and fairly effective (I think) the mk5 and dasyu once again grab objectives with the addition of the ekdromo hacker coming in later. The chain rifle ekdromo should help with some of the cheerleaders. what do you think? I know I'm avoiding some of the more powerful units by not going steel phalanx but I'm trying to keep my Vedic dreams alive. Any glaring weaknesses here?
  13. I'm sure some of you guys have heard of tabletop simulator. For those of your who haven't it is a pretty great little tool to play just about any tabletop game out there for free or close to free on steam. Recently I've been using it to play Infinity and it's been pretty great! It's allowed me to try new army lists, new factions and all kinds of terrain setups. I wouldn't of known how much I enjoyed Ariadna without being able to try out their various sectorials in Tabletop Simulator. I've gone from playing infinity every once in awhile to getting almost 20 games in in the last week and a half. One of the only downsides for the moment is that you are gona have to proxy some units. You are going to have to use some units as other units until the models for the various different armies actually come out. That being said it's easy to do since you can just change the name of the model and give it a description while playing and I am currently looking into making models for the various different factions. I would highly recommend getting tabletop simulator if you have a couple of friends to try it out with. It's been a great help to me and has shown me that I might need to get a few more Ariadna miniatures in the near future.
  14. I have a regular Aleph opponent that pretty roundly trounces my Haqqislam. I feel like I am bringing the wrong tools for the job, or at least the tools that work against the normal factions. Mostly I'm looking for tools that will help leverage the strengths of Haqqislam, especially in ITS9 where having one combat group (and thus elite armies) are advantaged. I suspect it is more of I'm prejudiced toward the units I like historically rather than ALEPH OP!!!11!, so I'm interested in what other folks use against our AI overlords. For example, leaning on Fidays to alpha strike typically doesn't work due to numerous NWI (unless trading Shock for Damage using the knife) and higher MA on cheaper targets. TO and heavy armor in the form of Tuaregs and Al Fasids can be done cheaper and more efficiently using Posthumans, such that their sacrifice is much worse for Haqq when put face to face. Infiltrators are strong and tough, putting Haqq on their heels right away. Not to mention ODD. I'm leaning to augmenting a Shihab with Marksmanship 2, which should at least deal with the NWI side of things, but the prevalence of TO (especially cheap TO in the form of Posthuman 2 that ALSO happens to be a hacker) also makes this a huge risk. There is also Asawira teams in HB, but they are a bit of a glass cannon with such low armor. Looking forward to what we think for limited insertion scale Haqq armies against more elite armies.
  15. I went through and found out how many female miniatures there were for each army. I was just curious about this and I thought I would share what I found. I included old models just not bootleg versions. The list goes in order from greatest to least. Nomads 56 Haqqislam 44 Yu jing 33 Ariadna 32 Panoceania 31 Aleph 20 Tohaa 13 Mercs 12 Combined 11 Doesn't really mean anything I just thought it would be neat to know.
  16. Alright so this is the "Final" version of this. There is the possibility that I missed a miniature but for the most part the numbers should be accurate. Obviously you should allow for a slight margin of error. Never the less these are the results I came to. Genderless includes tags, remotes and various other things along those lines. IF it looked male it went into the male category, if It looked female it went into the female category ect. 17. I've been reading the forums for a while, and I am now joining the discussion and asking for your help for a 200 pts list. Here is what I came up with : ALEPH ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 GARUDA Tacbot Boarding Shotgun / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21) PROXY Mk.2 Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21) PROXY Mk.5 (Forward Observer) 2 Submachine Guns, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) PROXY Mk.1 Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) DANAVAS Hacker (Hacking Device Plus. UPGRADE: Maestro) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) NETROD . (0 | 4) NETROD . (0 | 4) NETROD . (0 | 4) DEVA (Multispectral Visor L2) Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 33) MYRMIDON OFFICER Lieutenant Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0.5 | 30) MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 16) THORAKITES HMG, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 22) 4 SWC | 200 Points Open in Infinity Army I am so far quite satisfied. I intend to use the MK5 as a button pusher, the MK1 to keep people up and the MK2 as a hidden deployement suprise. I love the garuda model and I am experimenting with it currently. I will proxy the danava and use her for support ware and maybe lay some repeaters with pitchers to hack HIs if the opportunity arises. Then use the Deva with MSV2 in combination to the myrmidon to lay smoke and shoot through it. I chose the shotgun for the officer for the eclipse grenades in case there is a MSV2 sniper somewhere. My only regret is not being able to fit a sniper in the list. What are your thoughts on the list ? Any advice on how I should deploy and play it ?
  18. Hi there everyone! I'm new to this forum, but I thought that I would share one of my post-human designs with you. .^^. What do you guys think?
  19. Hi Guys, time ago i posted some of my CA minis. Meanwhile tried a lot with different factions. A the moment one of the projects are Steel Phalanx. Only little time for painting at the moment, but wanna show what we are doing at 3th in Hannover(Germany), not only some of us are very active in Strikezone Wotan but we also got some much better painters then me around. E.g. check out LeFrank for some of the best Infinity minis I know. Any tips, advise or comments so i can catch up to LeFrank ?
  20. So we finally have some miniatures other than the one for operation icestorm in tabletop simulator. This video here will show you how to get involved in all this nonsense. IF you look on the page for the mod you will see the discord server link. This video took way more effort and way more takes than it should of. If you stick to the end there is a really stupid joke that I think only the military order's players will enjoy. What faction would you like to see added or what miniatures would you really like to see here?
  21. I'm currently working through the Wotan scenario book with a friend, his Aleph vs my Corrigador. Obviously what we are gaming is the Phantom Conflict from the fluff where Aleph tried to take out the Nomad nation. So I started going over the fluff about that conflict and I have to say I think the writers have done a very good job about hinting at a much deeper game. The conflict started with the Violent Intermission; the supposed terrorist attack on a chaotic and disorganized Bakunin that caused the massive number of disparate elements that made up and were destroying the original experiment to band together against the outside threat and turn the social energy from a theory to a working reality. Having tested it's tactics and proved that the major powers wouldn't interfere Aleph then embarked on the Phantom Conflict in full and as a result the 3 ships pooled resources, joined forces and made enough back room deals to get themselves recognized as a sovereign nation with seats on O-12. So is Aleph chronically incompetent or does Aleph see a strong and stable Nomad nation as a necessity for humanities well-being and survival? It's an idea that certainly would fit with the idea of a powerful and manipulative A.I. that nevertheless has humanities best interests at heart. Comments please. Robert
  22. What kind of content would you want to see out of an infinity youtube channel?
  23. "Seems any *bleep* can get a show on Mayanet these days and hack it onto Arachne. Case in point, me. I'm an ALEPH *bleep*-up, and I'ma sit here and tell you exactly what I think about La Forja's destruction, the Nomad repurposed freighter Don Peyote, the current situation with Indra-3's Echo Commodule, and I'll argue loudly with anybody who can contact me, and today's guests will be whomever happens to wander onto this set. For maximum enjoyment, turn off your Mayanet and/or Arachne obscenity filter, and remove any spillable items from your lap and/or hands. That includes Lo Pan noodles, ya fat *bleep* Yuan Yuans. I'm Sophia Duramos, and You're Entitled to MY Opinion," a blonde lady that suspiciously looks like a Chandra Special Operative, with a four-strand braid and purple gradient fatigues turning to blue on her boob and shoulder armor and to red everywhere else, says before the title animation starts. You're Entitled To MY Opinion with Sophia Duramos in 3d-modeled black text with red outlines swooshes in from the right and fades away as the camera drone drops altitude and zooms in on Sophia sitting at a desk. "La Forja snapped in half, killing a *bleep*load of people. More specifically, not enough of those *bleep* furry bondage nuns who 'fight the Patriarchy' by, get this, attacking *bleeep* ALEPH, a female-identity artificial-intelligence, and her aspects. Many of 'em, like me, are FEMALE-PATTERN! Really fightin' the patriarchy there, ain'chya? *Bleep* morons. Good *bleeeeep* riddance! I hope O-12 finds out how exactly that *bleep* happened so I can repeat the feat on Bakunin. I've been on La Forja, and I can tell ya, it's a real *bleep* *bleep*hole. I bet even some of the Nomads wanted to scuttle the *bleeep*! Cue live voice messages from pissed-off furry bondage riot nuns in three, two, one..." ((OOC: In case you haven't figured it out yet, You're Entitled To MY Opinion is supposed to be an inflamatory opinion show like one would see on Fox News or CNN. Anybody can leave a "voice message" or be a guest by just "wandering in". Also, I've tried finding rules about it, but I don't know if curse words are allowed, hence Mayanet's "obscenity filter".}}
  24. Sometimes my friends have told me they would prefer it if the military orders weren't a thing or weren't a part of panoceania. Sometimes I have seen similar feelings posted on this forum. So I just thought I would ask " What would you replace the Military Orders with if you could?" If there is any other sectorial you'd like to replace go ahead and list them as well. If you think they should stay right where they are you can feel free to make your case as well.
