  1. So thanks to Tabletop Simulator i've been trying out a bunch of different armies. I made a little straw poll to try and decide what army I would try out next so I thought I would post it here incase anyone wants to put in their two cents.
  2. After initially playing around with the models in Operation Icestorm I decided I wanted to take down humanity rather than save it. From the beginning I had liked the Morat models but research on the internet told me they were the worst army to play. Undeterred I ordered the basis for my MAF. Since I live in Vietnam and my only opponent is my girlfriend it shouldn't be too much of an issue not having any TO camo, besides she plays Pan O scum so taking her down would be ultra satisfying. Having bought the models I knew I wanted them to have faces similar to the Japanese Macaque monkeys that live in the hot springs. I didn't want an 'evil' colour scheme and after trawling the internet I found this blog: An amazing colour scheme and painted at a level far beyond my own. So I attempted to recreate it and failed miserably. However I did like my more 'purple' scheme and pressed on. For this force I wanted to push my painting by trying to show directional lighting and use glazes to achieve smoother transitions. Here is my first finished Yaogat Morat (I prefer them to the Vanguard models so I will make an elite force): Front Shot: From this picture it is hard to appreciate the lighting but he looks suitably moody and aggressive which is what counts. Side Shot: In this shot you can see the 'light' side of his armour. I imagined the light coming from above and behind his left shoulder. I added battle damage to his vambraces as Imagine they use them to cover their faces. I did paint writing on the newspaper but maybe it needs to be darker. Side Shot: This is the 'dark' side of the armour. The purple is much richer and gives a sense of realism to the model. I have never tried this before and the difference it makes for not too much effort is startling. I now have to consider stripping all my old Infinity models...:( Back Shot: This shows the lighting effect more clearly. This is probably the best model I have ever painted. I'm really happy with it as the start of my Morats and can't wait to start the next one. Death to that bloody Nisse!
  3. I was doing a list of all the female models in infinity because I was just curious who had the most female models. I did get stuck on something though, do batdroids count as male or female or genderless? They are controlled by and sort of represent a giant female AI so I wasn't sure. Same with ALEPH what do those constructs count as if anything? OF course this is not to demonstrate how sexist infinity is or whatever, we already have people who talk about that. This is merely for my own curiosity which was sparked by this thread.
  4. I'm sure some of you guys have heard of tabletop simulator. For those of your who haven't it is a pretty great little tool to play just about any tabletop game out there for free or close to free on steam. Recently I've been using it to play Infinity and it's been pretty great! It's allowed me to try new army lists, new factions and all kinds of terrain setups. I wouldn't of known how much I enjoyed Ariadna without being able to try out their various sectorials in Tabletop Simulator. I've gone from playing infinity every once in awhile to getting almost 20 games in in the last week and a half. One of the only downsides for the moment is that you are gona have to proxy some units. You are going to have to use some units as other units until the models for the various different armies actually come out. That being said it's easy to do since you can just change the name of the model and give it a description while playing and I am currently looking into making models for the various different factions. I would highly recommend getting tabletop simulator if you have a couple of friends to try it out with. It's been a great help to me and has shown me that I might need to get a few more Ariadna miniatures in the near future.
  5. I went through and found out how many female miniatures there were for each army. I was just curious about this and I thought I would share what I found. I included old models just not bootleg versions. The list goes in order from greatest to least. Nomads 56 Haqqislam 44 Yu jing 33 Ariadna 32 Panoceania 31 Aleph 20 Tohaa 13 Mercs 12 Combined 11 Doesn't really mean anything I just thought it would be neat to know.
  6. Alright so this is the "Final" version of this. There is the possibility that I missed a miniature but for the most part the numbers should be accurate. Obviously you should allow for a slight margin of error. Never the less these are the results I came to. Genderless includes tags, remotes and various other things along those lines. IF it looked male it went into the male category, if It looked female it went into the female category ect. 7. Sometimes my friends have told me they would prefer it if the military orders weren't a thing or weren't a part of panoceania. Sometimes I have seen similar feelings posted on this forum. So I just thought I would ask " What would you replace the Military Orders with if you could?" If there is any other sectorial you'd like to replace go ahead and list them as well. If you think they should stay right where they are you can feel free to make your case as well.
  8. Someone I know suggested the idea that yu jing and pan o could unite to take over the entire sphere. I wanted to know what you guys thought. Is it possible for these two to unite? Would it make sense? Would it work? Would haqq or the other sphere powers find a way to stop them or at least put up a fight? It should be brought up Yu Jing and Pan O have fought together before against the combined but that isn't quite the same thing as a temporary all out alliance to fight other parts of the sphere.
  9. -//On the ECHO Commodule//- Scylla of the Argyraspides looked archly down through the angled glass of the observation window at her test subject. A biomechanical monstrosity. Constrained by the most advanced electromagnetic flux containment field that transhuman minds had yet devised - it was now reduced to mewling its frustration through its underdeveloped vocal cords. Such creatures had little need to speak, she supposed. She had personally supervised the amputation of its sepsistor wielding proto-limb on the transit shuttle from La Forja, and the disassembly of its isolated comms equipment. The way in which it's entire strike team had collapsed into chaos once Charybdis had relayed her blackout programme into its unsuspecting data nexus still thrilled her. It was the talk of the Commodule. Below, behind the glass, and still entombed in the tactical poly-adhesives applied to it on the command deck before extraction, the Skiavoros was alternating between futile attempts to free itself from the physical trap, and broadcast it's mindstate away - anything to escape the now useless husk of this captured body. She adjusted her glasses and cast a dusky glance back over a slender shoulder as the laboratory door slicked open behind her. The glasses were an affectation of course - the mere gesture one calculated to beguile and disarm - but it was entirely futile in this case. Her eyes saw an unassuming man, but she perceived with her mind what seemed like an ancient behemoth surfacing in her little shallow of the sea of information. It was a High Functionary, come to review her experiment and approve it's next phase. The painfully beautiful Asura Urvashi came with him, arms crossed and face inscrutable as she looked through the floor at their captive. "Quite the prize, but one dearly bought." The Functionary said, stepping forward and looking down through the glass. The mewling stopped abruptly, and the creature started keening as the aspect of ALEPH hoved into view. He met it's baleful eyes with his own. "All is prepared?" He did not look back towards her. "Yes, yes sir... the retroviral amendment to its code is complete. We will be able to trace the transmission to its next host once we release the angular confinement beam." "Very well. I wish to speak with our guest before it leaves us." She nodded, mutely and triggered the microphone between the operating theatre and the observation platform. It seemed to understand, and in a thin, insidious voice for the first time it spoke, haltingly: "You. have. won.... -nothing-" Even when she had sawed off and cauterised it's limb, it hadn't deigned to speak, or even cry out. The Functionary smiled a thin smile, then tipped his head imperceptibly towards Scylla. "We will see you again... soon." She realigned the containment field, allowing the malevolent intelligence an avenue of escape - out into space. Away to its next hiding place on the blockading fleet. Abruptly the creature shuddered, then sighed it's death rattle as the consciousness fled it's body. He looked back at her, expectant. Data reflected from the console off the thin glass slivers of her lenses, flashing at an alarming rate. "Ah," She said, presently. "Ah?" She preened at the pink flower in her hair, and explained, almost apologetically: "Well. It's a bad week to be a Nomad, sir. It's on the Don Peyote." "Ah." He agreed.
  10. Write up of the second half of the Garagefinity II mini-tournament as Onyx and USAriadna fight it out for the overall honours. Enjoy!
  11. Some time ago I had posted a bunch of topics on haqqislam and how I was supremely suspicious of them. Part of this was my own experience with Islam and muslims in the real world being for the most part very negative. I pretty much hated haqqislam and kept writing about them being secretly evil or hunting down exmuslims ect. Here is the funny part. Recently I had bought the Human Sphere book for N3 and have been reading through the factions lore in an attempt to figure out which faction I felt the most connected too and would want to live in. The funny thing was so far Haqqislam seems like the best choice for me. There is something about their values and society that I just straight up love. Not to mention after more or less discarding the other 3 factions I've read before it and the one I've read after it in the book it's starting to seem like the only choice for me. I just thought that was kind of ironic and I thought I would share. I'm not sure if anyone remembers those old conspiracy theory-esque posts that I used to flood the forums with but incase you do I thought you might also find this kind of funny. I did remember posting something similar to this when I first started playing QK but I couldn't find it if I did and I think even then I made a bunch of excuses about how my little part of the faction was somehow made entirely of nonmuslims or something. Just kinda silly really.
  12. Awhile back posted a topic about spamming the infantry button. The basic concept was to have massive blobs of infantry to swarm the enemy. An example was an army with a total of 28 grunts, another was about 18 of so myridoms. There was also a topic about starship troopers / heavy infantry and so on. I want to field one of these infantry blob armies but I wasn't sure which army had the best basic infantry. For instance which had the most versatility, the most durability and which had better damage output? If there is no major difference then that is fine too and I will just go with which ones look the best but if there is a major difference between the line infantry then I want to put out the best of the best. Another idea I was playing around with was which army would be best to do a heavy infantry list. In other words spam the infantry button but with mostly if not entirely heavy infantry? I like doing themed lists so I figured doing the basic line infantry and the heavy infantry lists would just be fun. So with all of that out of the way which army has the best line infantry and which army would be best for a heavy infantry list?

  14. Recently I've been trying to paint some haqqislam miniatures as well as some space marines. Every scheme I come up with just doesn't satisfy me, I get so annoyed as I try paint scheme after paint scheme and make no progress. Everything I paint just makes me want to toss in the towel. Any suggestions for getting out of a painting funk?
  15. Suryat link with Kornak goes toe-to-toe with a Muyib link on supplies. The battle is a conflict of styles and composition. The tough-to-crack Suryats and a Q drone attempt to lock down the board. The Muyibs have smoke on their side, and refuse to fight an upfront battle. The Hassassins try and steal supplies right under the nose of the defense. The battle is as close as it gets and goes down to the last turn, last order, last dice roll to decide the winner This is my third battle report and I have been trying to improve the format. hope you guys check it out and enjoy. 16. I was thinking about doing an all myridom or all thorakitai list but I wasn't sure how well that would work out. So I just thought I would ask and see what you all thought of it. I was going to be using things like kts, druze , djanbazan and other miniatures from various armies I like as proxies since I like aleph's rules but I am not a big fan of their miniatures.
  17. Back after a loooooong absence with a write-up of the first of the Tagline narrative missions. Can Toni Macayana survive this time?
  18. As the title suggests, I have been thinking about what it would be like to limit yourself to using only your faction's + sectorial's unlimited AVA troop as your only unit in a list. The reason I included the faction's/vanilla's total AVA in the sectorial choices is because some sectorial's unlimited AVA troop don't have a Lt. option (Military Orders, Shasvastii, Onyx, Steel Phalanx, etc...). Aleph and Hassassins are unique in that they don't have an unlimited AVA unit. Shasvastii can't form a core fireteam with their unlimited AVA unit. I was thinking of allowing Shas players the option of taking a Gwailos link and the Hassassins being able to have non-linked Govads in their lists. Maybe just having non-linked Gwalios would be good enough for Shas players? Would that be considered too powerful for the limited force options this challenge allows? Should Kratot Renegades & Le Muet be included as options? What do you gals and guys think? List Building Rules: 1. You can only use your faction's/sectorial's AVA total unit unless you are allowed to add another unit as part of a fireteam. 2. Dire Foes characters are allowed to be used in the list as part of a fireteam or on their own. 3. Sectorials that don't have a Lt. option on their AVA total unit can use their faction's Vanilla total AVA unit if they are able to take them in that sectorial (Military Orders, etc...). This also applies to linkteams such as NCA being able to use a Fusilier core-linkteam since Auxila can't form a link. 4. Sectorials that don't have a Lt. option on their AVA total unit can take units that are allowed to link with them or not if so choose (Onyx, etc...). For example, Nexus Operatives can link with Unidron Batroids but you can also take the max amount of Nexus since Batroids need a hacker to be fielded. 5. Vanilla Aleph can use both the max amount of Thoraktai & Myrmidons and is allowed to take 1 Enomotarchos character. Steel Phalanx can only run 1 link in a list and therefore can only take 1 Enomotarchos character. I don't know what unit would be considered the Vedic AVA total troop so I didn't include one. 6. While heavier units like Grey Rifles, Umbra Legates & Crane Agents can link with their sectorial's AVA total unit it is encouraged to showcase lists that don't use them. However, you are allowed to include these units and remotes (Chaksa for Tohaa) if you wish. Units like the Grey Rifles, Umbra Legates & Crane Agents can only be in a list as part of a fireteam. 7. Tohaa are allowed 1 triad in their lists. 8. Warcors are allowed. Spec-Ops can be used but like linkable heavy infinity it is encouraged to showcase lists that don't use them. List of Faction/Sectorial of usable units: PanO: Vanilla=Fusiliers, Bipandra. ASA=Regulars. Military Orders=Order Sergeants, Konstantinos, Fusiliers, Bipandra. NCA=Auxilia, Fusiliers, Bipandra. Tohaa: Vanilla=Kamael Infantry, Aelis Keesan, Kumotail Bioengineers, Chaksa Auxiliars, Chaksa Servants.
  19. So recently we've been using savage worlds to roleplay some infinity characters. One of my friends mentioned they wanted to try something different though and suggested dungeons and dragons. I was just wondering what experiences people had with dungeons and dragons here ? which edition is best to start with? or is there a better system?
  20. I wanted to have some humans fighting along side my combined forces and I was wondering what everyone thought the best fitting proxies would be? I figured KTS or Druze for some of the morats or something like that. Which would also be useful because I was going to use KTS and Druze to proxy aleph forces as well.
  21. I wanted to know if anyone takes jumppacks in their lists normally. I have done a few lists with things like sikh commandos and the like and have never found their ability to jump very useful. If anything they seem like a waste of points to me. What do you guys think?
  22. So I'm not entirely sure what possessed me to do this but I decided I wanted to do a D&D themed infinity project. I wanted to have a miniature to represent all the basic classes for either 3rd or 5th edition D&D. This would include... Fighter Rouge Cleric Wizard Monk Paladin Barbarian Bard Ranger Warlock At least for fifth edition that is what I would be working with. Now I think some choices are obvious. A fighter could easily be HI or a unit that specializes in Melee, a rouge might be like a fiday or a ninja . Something like that. I would love to hear suggestions , also if we could make it so the cleric and the paladin aren't both from panoceania and their military orders that would be great. Also multifactions is preferred.
  23. Hey everyone! I recently started Onyx and I can tell you that I'm already loving the sectorial. I was wanting to get a pair of malignos to use as forward observers because let's admit it.... they are one of the best specialists in the list. My problem is that I've only been able to find the sniper rifle version in the starter box and the hacker blister pack; not to mention I'm not particularly fond of the shasvastii aesthetic overall. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what to use, or should I just go for one of the two available? As far as conversion go, they would have to be relatively simple as I'm not terrible at painting but sculpting anything is fairly beyond my scope of abilities lol. Thanks everyone for all your help ahead of time, and I'm sorry if this is a duplicate thread or in the wrong place.
  24. I was just wondering which faction is the most popular? Go ahead and vote for whichever army is your favorite or whichever armies you play.
  25. I was playing around in the infinity army builder when I decided I wanted to fill most of my list with cheap infantry because I thought it would be kind of fun.
