  1. Hey Infinityers, I'll be doing my Gen Con thing again this year, with pics to be posted here: I'm told I'll have free wifi, but I'm not sure of the speed, etc. Ideally, I'll be posting each day's in the evening, but that depends on how things shake out. I'll try to bump this post as I update the album. I'm looking forward to Gen Con, and I hope you all enjoy the pictures I post.
  2. After initially playing around with the models in Operation Icestorm I decided I wanted to take down humanity rather than save it. From the beginning I had liked the Morat models but research on the internet told me they were the worst army to play. Undeterred I ordered the basis for my MAF. Since I live in Vietnam and my only opponent is my girlfriend it shouldn't be too much of an issue not having any TO camo, besides she plays Pan O scum so taking her down would be ultra satisfying. Having bought the models I knew I wanted them to have faces similar to the Japanese Macaque monkeys that live in the hot springs. I didn't want an 'evil' colour scheme and after trawling the internet I found this blog: An amazing colour scheme and painted at a level far beyond my own. So I attempted to recreate it and failed miserably. However I did like my more 'purple' scheme and pressed on. For this force I wanted to push my painting by trying to show directional lighting and use glazes to achieve smoother transitions. Here is my first finished Yaogat Morat (I prefer them to the Vanguard models so I will make an elite force): Front Shot: From this picture it is hard to appreciate the lighting but he looks suitably moody and aggressive which is what counts. Side Shot: In this shot you can see the 'light' side of his armour. I imagined the light coming from above and behind his left shoulder. I added battle damage to his vambraces as Imagine they use them to cover their faces. I did paint writing on the newspaper but maybe it needs to be darker. Side Shot: This is the 'dark' side of the armour. The purple is much richer and gives a sense of realism to the model. I have never tried this before and the difference it makes for not too much effort is startling. I now have to consider stripping all my old Infinity models...:( Back Shot: This shows the lighting effect more clearly. This is probably the best model I have ever painted. I'm really happy with it as the start of my Morats and can't wait to start the next one. Death to that bloody Nisse!
  3. So we finally have some miniatures other than the one for operation icestorm in tabletop simulator. This video here will show you how to get involved in all this nonsense. IF you look on the page for the mod you will see the discord server link. This video took way more effort and way more takes than it should of. If you stick to the end there is a really stupid joke that I think only the military order's players will enjoy. What faction would you like to see added or what miniatures would you really like to see here?
  4. What kind of content would you want to see out of an infinity youtube channel?

  6. Hey everyone! With another tournament having come and gone, with prizes being won and crits being dished out left right and center, it's time to get back to shifting stuff from the mountain of unpainted metal into the (much smaller!) painted pile. With that, Korina did me a HUGE favour and worked up this bad boy up in time for the event: As you can see, he's brought a big gun and a bad attitude to the party, and boy did it show in the five round event! Korina took it one step further for her first Nomad mini, and put together a comprehensive write-up of how she went about putting this awesome paintjob together. You can find that HERE if non-airbrushed techniques are your thing. Expect to see more nomads follow- I hear that there's bandits around... As always, C&C is very much appreciated!
  7. Hi, I'm trying a new thing *scary* I'll be logging about my hobby (hopefully forcing me to do stuff) and it's mainly infinity. This first episode is a lot of Bolt Action too, but Infinity and now this summer, Wotan will be the main focus! Comments, critique...?
  8. I don't know if this is the right place to post but I was wondering where I could find alot of Infinity banners that members of the community have made. I have been looking for awhile without any success in locating some. Can anyone point me in the right direction or at lest provide a link to where I could find some? Update: I found the old banner thread recently. Though I think that maybe the community can start creating new ones again. I'm trying to learn the process. If anyone wants to join in on making more feel free to do so.

  10. Hello gamers. I would like to announce the Midwest Gamers League Infinity . The Midwest games League is based around a coalition of state subreddits. Michigan , Ohio , Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky , Wisconsin, Minnesota , Missouri , Nebraska and Kansas all have their own subreddits. These subreddits are for all gamers and I think they will form into a great place to find new Infinity players. Everyone is a gamer and everyone is local. I am currently painting an Operation : Ice Storm box to use as demo set for a weekly game night I have in the works. I think this is the best possible way to bring new people into tabletop gaming. It is how I got into it over 20 years ago. Walked into a game preserve and a dude had the warhammer 4th edition box set to give demos. One game and I was hooked. You could use the subreddits to promote the demo at a local store. The Midwest Gamers League is how each state competes. Teams can form , then we can use their ITS ranking to give the team an average score. This will be compared with the other states and determine which state is the champion. The main purpose of this is just for fun. A good way to generate content , conversation and competition. Maybe some day it could even evolve into an actual offline team event. If you already play and represent a club, store etc. That is totally okay. The top 3 ranking players from each state get a spot on the sidebar of their state’s subreddit. This will entitle them to a link to anything they want. It could go to a twitter, twitch, youtube, Facebook Group, club website , anything you want. The subreddits are not all equal in size or content. The biggest has over 700 members and the smallest has under 200. If your state is small do not be alarmed because these are all very new subreddits. Each one has a discord and then a Midwest discord to connect them all. We can put an infinity or tabletop channel in each discord. Please go to your states sub and sign up in the Midwest Gamers League thread. There should be a link to the thread in the sidebar. Or message me on here or reddit, I am a mod of each sub under the name “EvilJace”. If your state is not listed we can try to fix that. If you are in a Canadian border province like Manitoba, Ontario etc. Message me because we would like to add you. If you are from a totally different region message me and we can help you build up your region. Eventually all regions can be linked in this way. Let me know if you like the idea and would like to pursue it. https://www.reddit.com/r/MichiganGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/WisconsinGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianaGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/OhioGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/IllinoisGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/MinnesotaGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/MissouriGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/NebraskaGamers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/GamersInKansas/ https://www.reddit.com/r/KentuckyGamers/
  11. Sorry if this isn't the right place to put this topic, I wasn't honestly sure where it should go so I just placed it here. So lately I've been clearing out my old miniatures in an attempt to get a little extra cash. My friend and I like playing infinity and I was thinking of just keeping a couple of small armies for us both to play . I was wondering whether yall thought red veil or icestorm were better for a general introduction to the game? Or if it might just be better to ask my friend what army he wants to play and grab a couple of the small army boxes instead?
  12. I was thinking about doing an all myridom or all thorakitai list but I wasn't sure how well that would work out. So I just thought I would ask and see what you all thought of it. I was going to be using things like kts, druze , djanbazan and other miniatures from various armies I like as proxies since I like aleph's rules but I am not a big fan of their miniatures.
  13. So recently we've been using savage worlds to roleplay some infinity characters. One of my friends mentioned they wanted to try something different though and suggested dungeons and dragons. I was just wondering what experiences people had with dungeons and dragons here ? which edition is best to start with? or is there a better system?

  15. I've been on this forum for awhile and met some pretty great people. Lately i've been loosing interest in infinity though. I don't know what it is but in the last few games i've had I have just been kind of bored. I don't know if it's the factions I mostly play or what exactly but I feel like i'm drifting further and further away from miniature gaming in general. So I just thought I'd ask if anyone else felt or has felt the same way and what they did about it. That or if you have suggestions on how to reinvigorate infinity for me i'm all ears.
  16. So I'm not entirely sure what possessed me to do this but I decided I wanted to do a D&D themed infinity project. I wanted to have a miniature to represent all the basic classes for either 3rd or 5th edition D&D. This would include... Fighter Rouge Cleric Wizard Monk Paladin Barbarian Bard Ranger Warlock At least for fifth edition that is what I would be working with. Now I think some choices are obvious. A fighter could easily be HI or a unit that specializes in Melee, a rouge might be like a fiday or a ninja . Something like that. I would love to hear suggestions , also if we could make it so the cleric and the paladin aren't both from panoceania and their military orders that would be great. Also multifactions is preferred.
  17. I was just wondering which faction is the most popular? Go ahead and vote for whichever army is your favorite or whichever armies you play.
  18. Infinity at TumBacon, October 1st at Tumba Gymnasium in Stockholm. Timed 300p tournament with 12exp spec-ops. 15 minute deployment with 25/20/15 minute player rounds. Transmission Matrix, Decapitation and Frontline.
  19. Greetings, infinity Players! It's been awhile since I've made any posts onto this forum. I wasn't sure where I should post something like this, so this seemed to be the best for me... Anyways, I, like many of you, pre-ordered the Infinity RPG from Modiphius, eager to play the game as an individual and explore the post-cyberpunk universe created by Corvus Belli. However, as you're all aware, IT'S. STILL. NOT. READY. YET. So as the delays continue, I decided to make my own ideas for adventures and challenges players might run into, and share these with you guys. 1. Two Pan-O corporations in the midst of a blood feud, and it might boil over any day, now. O-12 sends the players to investigate, and see if relations can't be smoothed over somehow. It turns out, elements from Yu-Jing and Nomads have formed an uneasy alliance to make these two corps fight each other, a small step towards kicking Pan-O off the #1 spot in the Human Sphere. 2. An O-12 agent has been sent to the Yu-Jing prison moon of Satori. Players are tasked to infiltrate the moon facility, find the agent, and bust him out of the prison. Unbeknownst to the team, there is also a Speculo Killer stalking the same agent, now turning its attentions to the new Prey entering... I'm still working on other ideas to turn into potential missions. Critiques and suggestions are welcome, as is stealing appropriating these ideas for your own campaigns. What about the rest of the community? Any aspiring GM's have some adventures they want to spring on their group?

  21. We play through Missions 4-5 of Operation: Red Veil. Hang tight for 'Beyond the Red Veil' on Gaming with the Cooler!
  22. So after a recent discussion as well as acquisition of funds my friends and I might just go ahead and buy a starter for each faction. Whether or not this means operation icestorm, red veil and the USA ariadna army box I am uncertain. What I was wondering is what the best general starters were for new players and what are the general pros and cons to certain sets? I personally have my rather large pan o army coming in as well as having my eye on a few nomad and yu jing lots but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have a bit of representation from every faction.
  23. If you've ever read The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins you are more than likely aware that the word meme was coined to describe ideas evolving more or less. Since then we've gotten memes about just about every damn thing you can thing about. Cats, Food, politicians , fat people, Russians the list goes on. Memes are in a strange way imbedded into the culture of many countries with things like /pol/ favoring Donald trump ect. What I am curious about is how this will effect the future and more specifically infinity as a concept. I'm wondering if the folks in infinity end up turning into unironic memers? Where a Panoceania soldier would go so far as to tattoo his favorite pepe or whether Donald trump will live on long after his death in a strangely aggrandized state. I have gotten the impression that a lot of Nomad wouldn't be out of place using terms like "normie" or "normalfag" to describe people living normal lives in the rest of the human sphere. What do you think? Is the future going to be subject to a generation of filthy filthy memelords ? Is infinity a place where the average person spends enough time on the internet for that sort of thing to effect them?
  24. REpost since I put this in the wrong spot. I recently got a bunch of cash and decided I kind of missed Warhammer 40k. So I decided to go on ebay, buy some minis and play a game or two. I quickly found myself missing infinity for a pretty good number of reasons. 1. Balance. Maybe it's just me but Warhammer 40k seems completely unbalanced with little to nothing in the way or fair play. I remember older editions where you pretty much won depending entirely on what codex you took and which units from that codex you took. I was told this isn't the case anymore but quickly found that it was still true. Some armies are still just better than others. It's not as bad as it used to be but I found myself missing the balance of infinity and you know, not having to roll 834 dice and move all my units over and over. Speaking of.. 2. The size. Setting up a 40k game is just no fun, there is too much shit to put down and it got tiring very quickly. Having to move a whole unit time after time felt very tedious. I longed for a skirmish game the entire time. Something with just a few models sounded so nice by the end of my first game with the Astra Militarum. 3. Sitting still. Infinity keeps you at least in some way active the entire game with reaction shots ect. Warhammer 40k does not. Depending on what is happening you may end up taking a very long time to take your turn and that can leave your opponent bored to tears. Several times during these games I got up, got a snack, went to the bathroom, came back and the other guy was still taking his sweet time. Now admittedly we were both using large model count armies but still that just seemed silly. 4. The cost dilemma. It feels weird to me to spend 20-30 bucks for ten models that are essentially worthless on the field. To make a decent Guardsman unit I need at least 20 -50 soldiers. That is close to 150 dollars not including shipping or tax. When I buy something in infinity I feel like I made a meaningful purchase for the table top. I feel like I am adding to my little band of brothers and sisters that will fight and die together. With 40k it feels like i'm just adding more bodies to a heap of meaningless deaths. It just doesn't feel as interesting. 5.WTF does that rule even mean? During one of the games we had a very long discussion about how exactly a certain rule worked. I've noticed every time I have played 40k or Warhammer fantasy ( Warhammer age of sigmar doesn't exist.) there is a lot of confusing wording, I like how clear the infinity books are. OR at least how clear they are to me. There are a couple of things I like about Warhammer 40k though, not the game mind you more or less the universe itself. I like the gigantic battles when they are in the books. I think there are a lot of interesting stories to be told about the various aspects of the universe , especially things like the inquisition and the Astra Militarum. I like the new allies rules that lets you mix and match armies to a certain extent, this is really nice for a collector like me. However at the same time I've met plenty of infinity players that don't seem to mind terribly or don't mind me just using a yu jing unit as a haqq unit because I like the model. Dark heresy and rouge trader are pretty great. I'd say Warhammer 40k all in all is a fun universe but kind of a shitty game. If you like it that's great but dear god I hated it. But now I have a bunch of guardsmen I intend to use as some sort of haqq or pan-o units so I can't say I wasted my money really. What has your personal experience with Warhammer / Warhammer 40k been? How do you feel about these games? Also, I'm not sure how I am going to fit these in.. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/start-collecting-militarum-tempestus https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Militarum-Tempestus-Scions But I am going to find a way.
