  1. Hey guys, I'm an absolute noob and this is the first time I've ever posted on a forum ever. Love the art style and miniatures, been following for about 18months and knew I had to get some. Bit the bullet 3months ago and bought a couple of blisters and O:IS & O:RV, a few valejo paints and some Windsor brushes after reading advice from this fine community. Haven't painted anything for about 15yrs when I collected the 'other game' listening to No Doubt in my parent's kitchen instead of doing my homework. Tons of good memories came back when I smelt that foam from the blister packs (...anyone else get that?) I have painted up O:IS and a fair few Haqq minis. I've been buying things I liked the look of rather then planning armies. Gone for my own paint schemes but will try the OG ones for O:RV so that I can learn more about painting from angel's book. This is the first rude dude I painted. He's aleph I think but I'm running him proxy in my nomads who are same colour scheme. C&C would be good right? will upload more when I get time. Would like to play some games too sometime - based in Massachusetts Ed
  2. So my friend has gifted me the Pan O side of ice-storm. Its my first proper foray into skirmish games. We have played the first 3 missions and I am already hooked. I am looking as what to get next. I like to buy models based on looks but want to have some form of competitiveness to the list building, and eventually we want to play some ITS. Models I like the look of so far are Sereph, knight of the Holy Sepulchre, and aquila guard with HMG, oh and the Hexa with sniper. Any advice welcome to help me make the box up to 300 points
  3. Hi again Another new person question that I've been struggling with today that I suspect has no right answer but I'd like to hear peoples thoughts. I was drawn to Yu Jing because I just really liked the models and I got the chance to split a Red Veil box with the owner of my FLGS. With only a single game under my belt I traded for an ISS starter to get some more models and got drawn down the ISS path. The agents, the Wu Ming and Kuang Shi fluff sounded great and I was getting hammered by opponents using fire teams so I wanted them too. So my question really is what am I missing that makes people want to play vanilla Yu Jing over either ISS or JSA? The way I understand it in vanilla you have access to everything but at reduced AVA numbers which I guess might be nice where as in a sectorial you get less choice, can have more of things and get to play with fire teams. In my very limited experience I've found the order efficiency of having fire teams is so useful when you don't start with many orders anyway that I can't really see what playing vanilla brings to the table. Am I missing something fundamental in my noobness or is it really just a personal style thing?
  4. Lau Tzu is credited with the following quote: "A journey of a thousand li begins with a single step." I've taken my fist step on my personal Infinity journey. I've played a few games, joined a league (in uncontested last place at the moment) and already bought far too many models in such a short time. I'm hooked and happily so. I'm really enjoying learning and playing the game. This forum has been very educational but I'm wondering what other resources are out there that would help me. I have already found and listen to 'Maya Cast' and 'Totally Crit'. Is there anything else that would be worth a look, listen, read? My current focus is obviously Yu Jing but with a preference for ISS but anything aimed at the newer player would also be interesting. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hey everyone! Here I am, asking questions like a noob again. I was hoping I could get some more experienced tournament organizers to help me figure out how to start tourneys in my area. I was wanting to start an escalation league to drum up interest, but my area only has 5 players including myself. Is that enough to have a decent escalation league and if so, how would you guys suggest portioning out the winner's pack? I would like to take part, but I have run a couple *cough* 40k *cough* tournaments before and it almost never ends well if the TO manages to win their own league. Secondly, I wanted to run a tagline event, but I only really have myself and my girlfriend interested in that one since the models for winning it are Toni and the samaritan; would it be possible to run that officially with only 2 people, or is that going to be a matter of sinking the cash just for the models? Thanks tons for the help you guys offer; I appreciate how friendly and how useful these forums have been to me getting into Infinity.
  6. Hi All guys, i'm relatively new of this forum.....or better,i read very much but i write nothing So,my wife gave my the USAriadna army pack(3 Grunt,1 Maverick,1 Minutemen,1 Marauder,1 Foxtrot,Antipode and Devil Dog) and the Van Zant miniature experience in infinity game is very low at the moment (i only play 6 or 7 times using Yu Jing ISS).....if possible i need from you some advices to reach a "good" ITS 300 point list.....the best i would like to achieve is no money waste (something like Bostria Challenger ) Speaking about the model (for my modeller mind) -and if there is a good game answer- i like to use: -112 Emergency Services -Hardcases (tactical bow) -Desperadoes (i'm an Harleyst,i own an harley,i love harley.......i love futuristic style harley davidson motorcycle....and i love Clint Eastwood,so i cannot use or buy them ). -Dozer Last....i like very much Traktor mull.....but i don't know if they are a good choice or not. Thank you very much for the help, and sorry me for my english,i know it is not so good. B.
  7. Hey guys, first post on the Haqqislam board. Played Infinity a bit under early 2nd ed rules, trying to get back into it now with what I feel are very solid editions (and additions) in N3 and HS3. I'm trying to put together a good, well rounded QK force that I could learn and grow with tactically, and hopefully not be embarrassed with if I took to a random LGS or small tournament. I could really use some help building a list, as it's the most daunting thing to me about Infinity. Below is a list of what I own so far. Not sure everything can or should be used (brigada for instance), and I'm perfectly willing to do some shopping to improve, optimize, or trim up the fat... Id' just like to keep it under say, $60 bucks or so. I'll be ordering online, so I could get most any models with relative ease. I think I've got a decent start here, just not quite sure where to head. It's also worth noting, I have another of the little chicken walker remote chassis, I'm just not sure how he should be built. The first one is modeled as a Rafiq. I've also got two Nasmat bots that could be put with dr/engineer Thanks for any advice/pointers! 8. Hey everyone! I recently started Onyx and I can tell you that I'm already loving the sectorial. I was wanting to get a pair of malignos to use as forward observers because let's admit it.... they are one of the best specialists in the list. My problem is that I've only been able to find the sniper rifle version in the starter box and the hacker blister pack; not to mention I'm not particularly fond of the shasvastii aesthetic overall. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what to use, or should I just go for one of the two available? As far as conversion go, they would have to be relatively simple as I'm not terrible at painting but sculpting anything is fairly beyond my scope of abilities lol. Thanks everyone for all your help ahead of time, and I'm sorry if this is a duplicate thread or in the wrong place.
  9. Heya forum-goers! I am a recent convert to Infinity, having had the opportunity to give it a try at a local convention, and I gotta say, I was totally charmed by the system. It's taken some doing, but I finally settled on a faction, and have decided to throw in with the Nomads! As I'm just now getting into the hobby, I'm on a bit of a budget, so I'm only buying a few things to start with: I was given two Moderators from Bakunin by a friend, and the hip-toting combi-rifle gal looks awesome, so I want to use her for sure! Other than that, I'm going to be buying one of the starter sets, specifically the Corregidor one, as they have really awesome models. Overall Corregidor is my favorite of the sectorials, and were it not for the fact that I really love the Custodiers model, I'd probably just play the sectorial. So, with that in mind, I've made a 200pt army on the army-maker, and wanted to see what you guys and gals thought! Is this okay? I wanted to have a couple specialists, and a bit of variety with special weapons. Thanks! I'm sorry for the long-winded explanation, but this is a list I can make with just the starter box and a Custodier blister, so I'm hoping it's at least a decent starting point.
  10. So i posted in the forums about a week or so ago a 300 point list to Jump head first into infinity and a few people on the forms suggested i start out small and work my way up. So i'm doing that by joining an escalation league in two weeks and wanted impute on which list to go with for the first mission. this is the mission: First League Round – Annihilation Lite Mission Objectives Main Objectives Cause the enemy between 35 and 75 Army Points in casualties (1 Objective Point). Cause the enemy between 76 and 110 Army Points in casualties (3 Objective Points). Cause the enemy more than 110 Army Points in casualties (4 Objective Points). Have between 35 and 75 Army points survive the encounter (1 Objective Point). Have between 76 and 110 Army points survive the encounter (3 Objective Points). Have more than 110 Army points survive the encounter (4 Objective Points). Any troops that have not been deployed by the end of the game are considered casualties. Secondary Objectives – Secure HVT Each player will deploy a single High Value Target(HVT) and will use the Classified Objective Secure HVT. Completing Secure HVT is worth 2 Objective Points. Secure HVT: The Secure HVT Classified Objective is accomplished when the player has one of his troopers(who is not in a Null state) inside the Zone of Control of the enemy HVT model and at the same time, the Zone of Control of his own HVT is free of enemy troops(not counting those in a Null state). Forces SIDE A: 150 points SIDE B: 150 points Deployment Players will deploy on opposite sides of the game table in a standard Deployment Zone 12 inches deep. Scenario Special Rules Armies must include a Lieutenant. Armies must not include a model with any sort of Hacking Device, so Hacking rules are not used. Players may include Remotes(REM) in their army list without including a Hacker. Players cannot make use of the Advanced Rules(Command Tokens, terrain rules, hacking, etc) Spec Ops: 6 XP End of the mission The scenario has a limited time frame, so it will automatically finish at the end of the third Game Round.and here are the two list: 150 tag ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 7 ALGUACIL Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. 11. Hi guys! I wanted to get started with Infinity, and the very first model I bought was the badass looking Aquila Guard with HMG, which got me interested in the NeoTerra Capitaline Army. 12. Hey guys, I'm a fairly new player, and my playgroup and I have been using YAMS and 20x20, but I wanted to try and get some bona fide ITS games in to see how it grabs us. However, I have read the ITS 2016 rules and I am thoroughly confused. Here are a few questions : 1- Where are the Classified Objectives? I'm trying to find some cards we could use, do I have to buy the pack or are they available online somewhere? There seems to be some in the N3 Rulebook but there are no values for the "cards", they're just rules? 2- Intelcom cards : wut? I just don't understand what they do at all. They also mention some value that you add to the point value of someone in a quadrant, and I understand the concept, but where are those values? Do I have to choose when the game starts whether I want an objective or an Intelcom? That's how it seems to work. 3- Intelcom cards - Interference : This is probably the most confusing to me. Not sure I get what they do at all; they seem to remove "Specialist" from someone? Does it work on any troop that is considered a specialist? I understand these are fairly broad questions, but if anyone could enlighten me (and by extension my whole playgroup) I would be most appreciative. Thank you!
  13. Ok, so thank you all very much for the information you gave in my last post on a prospective 300 point list to work toward, but I had some significant questions I thought might warrant a new thread, so here we go. The thing I love the most about USAriadna is how easy it is to connect with them (being from the US and loving US military history including stories of the rangers, etc), which I'm sure I'm not alone on. So even though this isn't a unit based game, and I'm glad its not, I like the way you can have two link teams to behave like units with support units on the side. But running two link teams really does limit the variety of the list. So my first question would be . . . is it just outright foolish to not avail yourself of the haris link team for marauders? I love the basic grunt link team, although I bemoan the absence of a HML in there. Also, I'm really struggling to continue adapting my tactics because both marauders and minutemen almost seem confused in their purpose . . . they both have access to better BS than grunts (obviously) and better long range weapons such as the HML or AP HMG, but both profiles have things that seem to indicate they should be used for more in-your-face style tactics. The marauders have forward deployment and stealth, the minutemen actually have a full 4-4 move and kinematica L1 . . . and I feel like if I used either of them to sit back with those long ranged pieces, then I'm wasting their actual purpose. But on the other hand, an AP HMG is really sweet and the marauders have access to the only available MSV we have . . . so I'm really torn and frustrated by all of this. In addition to all of this, I'm not really understanding the value of Forward Observers and targeting opposing pieces. Honestly, I absolutely love the idea of using the traktor muls as artillery as well as grenade launchers, etc. But looking at the rules and profile for targeting things . . . how often do you actual get a targeted state off? I mean, the best shot you've got is WIP of 13 on the foxtrots, right? And that's the max you're going to be rolling against . . . and with AROs coming back, goodness, how do you ever get a target off? Sorry, I only get one game in every week or two, so I'm a little eager to get perspective rather than wait months to test it all out myself. Anyway, so whether or not targeting is viable really dictates the rest of the list. I'd love to use the Muls, but not being able to reliably target something really bites that idea in the bum. Ok, so I'm looking for thoughts on the AP Rifle Minuteman. He seems awesome in a quintessential ranger-type way. Obviously he's only medium ranged, but the AP thing is cool and between MM1 and X Visor he can shoot up to 24" without penalty and adds shock to the AP. It seems like this guy might be a good guy to have advance and take up station midfield and maybe go into suppressing fire whilst protecting and objective. Are my thoughts on this viable or am I missing something? Well, there's lots more rattling around in my head, but any answers to the above questions / frustrations you guys can provide would be incredibly helpful! Thanks! *edit* I might as well fit a real quick rules question in here: can a paramedic be part of a link team and heal a model without leaving or breaking the link?
  14. So in the leadup to XCOM2, I got really hooked on Ariadna. For those who know about XCOM, it's about troops facing vastly technologically forces who have to make up the difference with guerrilla tactics and smart play. For me, that kind of underdog story got me really interested in Ariadna. For the 200point list below, I have assembled all the models and have them already. What are the things I should watch out for. It has a lot of specialists (including a hacker) so I feel that it has enough objective grabbers. Just my general thoughts; in the few games I've had with this list, I've really enjoyed having my antipodes in the first group as a kind of "anti-cheese" mechanism (whether it be camo-spam or an assassin unit for a TO unit like a TAG or Hac Tao). The hardcase usually immediately pops camo and goes into suppression. I feel that while the first group does have 3 irregular orders, I use all these models anyway and push-come-to-shove, I'd want these models (antipode and irmandinho) to have lots of orders anyway. The second group's job is to support the first group. The cateran is a solid ARO piece and has a devastating first shot. The 112 watches his back on the roof with his shotgun and is in 4" of the cateran so if he's knocked unconscious, he can get back up. The Wardriver watches my flanks, though I'm having trouble finding a place to put her. Should she be moved into the first group (perhaps swapping groups with the grunt)? Some concerns moving forward: 1. I start with pretty good board control with camo, though I live in fear of a MSV link team or 60+ point unit just blowing through it. At the end of the day, they're just brave dudes (and dudettes) with BS11 and rifles. 2. When should I commit with my antipodes? I've usually been keeping them in my mid-field camo swarm with their 6-6 "threat-range" as a deterrent to anyone getting any funny ideas instead of just suiciding them first turn to kill something. 3. With the cateran, is he more an ARO sniper or should I shoot then try to go prone? Should he be put in the first group? I put him mostly in the second group as I don't want too many killers (antipodes, chasseurs) sharing orders. 4. With the wardriver, while my little gaming group hasn't had any real hacking objectives (and if we do, we usually forgot those halfway in favor of killing each other) so she's sort of just been watching my flanks? How should I try to use her better? Compared to the foxtrots and one FO chassuer who can literally start near an objective, she just seems out-of-place and very niche. Sixth sense 1 is kind of cool though. (5. Not really a point, but from lurking on this forum I know a lot of people really like Uxia. I get that she's good, its just that part of the appeal of tabletop games for me is that you can really create your own stories with your own characters. Having special characters like Uxia detracts from that for me, like even in 40k I never took special characters. This isn't a putdown on anyone who uses Uxia, Van Zant, etc; they're great characters with great stats and fluff, it's just that I don't want to use them and prefer having them as a just part of the rich background of Infinity). Thanks in advance for the feedback. Appreciate it. Ariadna ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Group 1 7 3 1 FOXTROT Lieutenant Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. 16. Hey all I am super interested in this game after reading so much about it. Love the universe and am looking to get a few games in on vassal before taking the plunge and purchasing a faction (got to find out what I like to play). Since there are no FLGS near me I would love if a experienced player might take me under their wings and teach me and get a few games in on VASSAL? There seems to be a fairly up to date module here. Hopefully I can get a few games in soon. Thanks

Hi. So I'm just starting out in Infinity and I've got some PanO models waiting to be assembled but I'm still not sure how to go about gluing the helmet antennas onto the heads... I know, this is really specific and probably something no one really pays much attention but it doesn't seem like there's a specific way to do it as they seem to go into the slots pretty loose. Any suggestions on how to handle this and how you go about assembling your PanO models? Cheers obi-yan PS. Sorry for the noobishness :')
  18. hey all, So I am super new to the game, all I know is that when I flipped through a book about 4 years ago, the art was "slap you in face amazing". but, awesome art, does not an amazing game make. I have heard that this game is great for fast paced, skirmish type action. I have also heard that it's always your that true, could this be that awesome. I have noticed there are several "factions" as it where. what is the differences. strengths, weaknesses whatever. I know that I like..... robots, swords, crusader era knights, good infantry, oh and robots so the question is, is the game as awesome as the art?
  19. Good afternoon ladies, gentlemen. I just got into the game, and ordered haqqislam models with the intention of playing Qapu Khalqi. Originally my friend and I had overlooked the Hazfa's in favor of the rest of the starter box, the KTS, and the odalisques. That being said, I have been looking more at the Hafza in anticipation of my models coming in later this week, and after several demo games, like the idea of them. However, I have some questions: -My equipment lets me mimic other units in my army. From what I read in some battle reports, this is any unit that would be available in my sectorial (so running an odalisque even if my army list doesn't have it.) The people on my group don't have access to any, and have been arguing that it is only models in the army list I am fielding. Where can I find an official ruling on this one? -Can I doctor the army list to be above the points limit on paper, even if it isn't in reality? (Feed false information, while still having a second list that has the true points, conforming to the rules). -Can I make it look like I am over my AVA as well? (Again playing mean mind games?) I am getting a unit that can join in links to bring them up to strength if AVA is not an option, or if points are tight, which makes me like them. I can use them to hide a sergeant if I want, or other deadly units, or do baits and switches (an mg suspiciously close only to be a shotgun for example). If it is only what is in my army list, than they are pretty much exclusively force multipliers, with predictable options.
  20. So im over all confused what i should collect next. thank you for the help and time in advance.
  21. Have just recently started playing infinity, and was hoping to get some help with army lists. The local gaming club is running 150point army tournaments/ games until we learn rules and expand army's. I have most of the basics down and now looking for competitive wins against the other factions. Here's what I have model wise combined army starter set, shasvassti expedition set, yaogat strike force (have been proxy for vanguard at times) 1 sogarat tempest with hmg, 1 Imetron and 1 ikadron with baggage, 1 Med-Tech Obsidon Medchanoid what lists are balanced/competitive at 150 points and best ways to play them, mixture of objective and straight death match
  22. Howdy folks. I have recently switched allegiances from my Jap sectorial over to Morats, and wanted to get some critique from you all for my list for a game on Friday. It is a 300pt game using standard rulebook missions (or possibly YAMS). I will be facing Nomads. I have played Morats a couple of times using a Sogorat heavy list but wanted to try out the drones and Pretas (and have more orders on the board. The Morat vanguard will be linked and the rest are there for some slaughter :). I have all the current Morat models apart from the new Yoagat infantry (purchasing them next month) so I can make changes within those limitations. Thanks in advance for your input (ps I realise I am one pt over on my list but it is a friendly game so my opponent is ok with this if I make no changes) Morat Aggression Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Group 1 10 0 2 DĀTURAZI Chain Rifle, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. 23. Good Evening Fine Combined Folk, So, I've been wading into the waters of Infinity and came across some Morat models. More of an impulse buy, my FLGS had a Morat Vanguard Infantry box and a Yaogat Strike Infantry box. Usually this store doesn't carry Infinity, and I took the chance to snap them up. Running with the murder monkey theme, without any research at all, I ordered in the Morat Aggression Forces Sectorial Starter Pack along with the Raicho Armored Brigade (mostly because it looks cool, is Morat, and looks cool). I'm not saying this was a good plan, this is just what I did. I wanted to explore the murder monkey theme, and figured I'd likely have enough stuff to play with if I had these four boxes. So, my question to the community, is basically "How would you use these models?". It does seem like there are things I'd be well served to add to the force, but for now, I think I should probably build, paint, and get use out of what I've got. Thanks in advance for any replies!
  24. So I haven't actuality played infinity yet and usually prefer painting and collecting over playing , but I have read lots from the forums/rule book and watched some battle reports. I have a local gaming group with people that have Infinity and will try and get some games + be more active of the forums. This is the 300 point list I'm thinking of building into. I have Joan and the Starter set at the moment. PanOceania ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Group 1 10 0 0 JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, DA CCW. (50) FATHER-KNIGHT Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 50) KAMAU Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (MediKit) MULTI Rifle / Pistol, AP CCW. (41) TRAUMA-DOC Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (14) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (10) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (10) HEXA MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 32) NISSE MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 34) NISSE HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 34) 5.5 SWC (+1) | 299 Points Open with Army 5 I feel that I found a line between models that I like and what is useful. Any feedback would be appreciated. Also what experience/expectations do you have with proxying/conversions. tbh most of the knights look the same to me and I don't like the Hospitaller model what to you think is the likelihood I can get away with something like the Sepulchre?
  25. Hello, Total noob here. I am trying to get an Infinity movement going in Northern New York. There is a local Card and Comic shop that is going to help but I am the main catalyst. Any advice is welcome. Glad to be aboard, Whiskeybane
