  1. So I plan to do the characters of our ongoing Infinity RPG game as unique minis by converting some. Right now I'm researching what would be the best options to do those characters and that's where I'm asking for help since I feel other people might come up with suggestions I haven't even thought about yet. I'll star with my own character as I know him best: He's an Aleph agent (from his skills and equipment kinda similar to a Dasyus or Naga maybe) working on qualifying to become a Posthuman. A skirmisher of sorts and his body is a standard (though upgraded) LHost that I described as kind of middle-eastern or maybe Indian (India, not Indiana ) looking. Main weapon is a custom MULTI Sniper rifle that has 2 heavy options (SABOT and a special type of Nano rounds) but he also carries a MULTI Pistol and knife, sometimes a YuJing-style Combirifle. He's a skilled sniper and also quite respectable in CC. Got TO-Camo as an implant and regularly uses a MSV2. Hacker (Assault and Defensive) on the side. He has light armor disguised as normal clothing with a built in Nanopulser. Next, I'm aiming to get a set of light combat armor roughly like the Deva's armor, also with integral Nanopulser that I want to modify so it can be vacuum-sealed so a light helmet would be fine. I was thinking maybe using Dasyus Sniper and modifying the rifle or even Dasyus Combi Rifle and modify the gun into a Sniper rifle. On the other hand... I also like that male Deva model and I'm gonna try to get this sort of armour anyways, so... Talking about the version WITH hair mainly. He would need different arms though and I'm not sure where to get a set that will fit him well and also fit thematically. Could also swap the minis head for one with a light helmet. It doesn't have to look particularly Aleph as the armour is disguised anyways. Could look civilian as well as long as it looks plausible that you could seal it by pulling on a light headgear, kinda like a sort of heavier hood maybe that covers the whole head. Could maybe even keep that Deva's original head and give him a colar where the headgear is stored. I'd like some not too bland pose but lets see what we can find. A Nomad Spektr might be a good base as well though I'm leaning Deva right now. If I can find something with an Aleph sniper rifle I thought I'd maybe put a second clip on that as the feed for the second heavy option. Should be easier than on some other designs as Aleph rifles have bullpup design.

  4. Hi, Does anyone know of or is willing to host/join an Infinity RPG play by forum? I've been looking for one for quite a while now and I cannot seem to find any or at least something that's still active. I am thinking that we can use the Modiphius rules - I've backed the project up and while waiting for the actual print book to drop I'm extremely hyped to give it a try. The quick start rules are a free download from the Modiphius website. We can use the predefined characters from the quick start rules and the campaign setting from there. For dice rolls we could use rolz.org and for keeping track of the campaign log, wiki and additional resources we could use the forum or obsidian portal. If you know of a forum that hosts a live inifinty rpg session or you'd be interested in hosting or joining one please let me know.

  6. So the Core Infinity RPG Book by Modiphius is pretty much done so I thought it would be a good time to start up another PbP recruiting thread. This time around I'll introduce the premise of the game immediately so people have a good idea what to expect. Premise: You'll be working for the Sunz Detective Agency. A small, elite, private detective group that has clients across the human sphere. They are based out of Tunguska. What the SDA is looking for: Ex-military or law enforcement is great but not necessary. We are a detective agency and not a mercenary group so we prefer potential candidates to have skills going beyond just combat. We prefer our teams to be well rounded so they can tackle any situation from say bodyguard, PI, extraction, or asset recovery. This is a first come, first serve recruiting thread. However, these individuals: @Section 9 @Penemue @Rizzy Who stuck around to the end of the last one get first dibs if they want to join. In the mean time you can put yourself down as this thread will act like a wait list. The capacity for this game: 5 - Max. 3 - Min.
  7. Greetings, infinity Players! It's been awhile since I've made any posts onto this forum. I wasn't sure where I should post something like this, so this seemed to be the best for me... Anyways, I, like many of you, pre-ordered the Infinity RPG from Modiphius, eager to play the game as an individual and explore the post-cyberpunk universe created by Corvus Belli. However, as you're all aware, IT'S. STILL. NOT. READY. YET. So as the delays continue, I decided to make my own ideas for adventures and challenges players might run into, and share these with you guys. 1. Two Pan-O corporations in the midst of a blood feud, and it might boil over any day, now. O-12 sends the players to investigate, and see if relations can't be smoothed over somehow. It turns out, elements from Yu-Jing and Nomads have formed an uneasy alliance to make these two corps fight each other, a small step towards kicking Pan-O off the #1 spot in the Human Sphere. 2. An O-12 agent has been sent to the Yu-Jing prison moon of Satori. Players are tasked to infiltrate the moon facility, find the agent, and bust him out of the prison. Unbeknownst to the team, there is also a Speculo Killer stalking the same agent, now turning its attentions to the new Prey entering... I'm still working on other ideas to turn into potential missions. Critiques and suggestions are welcome, as is stealing appropriating these ideas for your own campaigns. What about the rest of the community? Any aspiring GM's have some adventures they want to spring on their group?
  8. We ran into a bit of a problem playing the Infinity RPG and its the Concilium Convention again. Noone seems to be sure how to apply it. Are there any pieces of text for the RPG (didnt have time to read everything pre-released yet) or the tabletop that details the convention a bit more? Especially what it applies to and in which ways? We don't play military characters (though some have a military past) and we are pretty unsure about what would be an offense against the convention and how bad of an offense things would be. This includes our game master as well. For example my character has DA reloads for his pistol (DA ammo is restricted by the Concilium Convention). How much trouble would he be asking for if he used that kind of ammo? Does it depend on what he's shooting at? Is he not allowed to even have that stuff? Is it fine to own as long as you don't use it?
  9. This is really amazing news from Corvus and Modiphius! Read about it here I've seen a number of living campaigns done over the years, mostly by Wizards of the Coast for D&D & Star Wars, and this looks to trump them all.
  10. My parents in Huddersfield received a parcel from Wayland games today, which I thought was odd as I haven't ordered anything from them in years. Upon their opening of it I was delighted to discover my RPG miniatures from Modiphius had arrived and Wayland had been handling the shipping! Bear in mind the minis were the only physical rewards I'd ordered so I'm not waiting for any books, dice, etc. Now I have to decide if I want to wait until I visit the UK in September or pay out for transatlantic shipping & import duty.
  11. Hello, Infinity Forums! I'm here to crosspost from Modiphius forums, and propose a game: take each faction in the Human Sphere, and name a character archetype you'd play as in the upcoming RPG (and why), if you were limited to the said faction. Extra points for aliens. The archetype can be represented by a model in the Infinity range, or not, as long as it fits the faction. A small template so that people do not have to type out the faction names: Aleph: Ariadna: Haqqislam: Nomads: PanOceania: Yu Jing: Combined Army: Tohaa: And my answers: Aleph: Posthuman. I just love the idea of a character being able to use disposable bodies in the most dangerous situation, losing it, and jumping to another in an instant. Ariadna: Tank Hunter with the biggest gun in the arsenal. Does this need explanation. Who does not like big guns? Haqqislam: Kum biker. Big beard, big gut (not because of beer, but FOR BEER) big speakers on the chopper, blaring heavy metal. Nomads: Sin-Eater Observant. There is something about religious fanatics that makes me want to play one. These zealots turn it up to eleven. Plus, after all the stuff that's done to them in their "sacred rituals" (cough... lobotomy...cough...), they must present a damn challenge to play as a roleplaying character. PanOceania: A journalist who likes the truth too much for his own good. A character that is good at finding out secrets, and very bad at keeping them. I like characters, that can create problems for themselves in any situation. Yu Jing: Oniwaban. What can be better than playing a ninja? Being a badass ninja commander, that goes on missions personally if said missions are hard enough to warrant his attention. Combined Army: Daturazi. Why? Because they are just crazy. "You know what's a good idea? Let's charge the enemy, equipped with high-tech weaponry, using only melee weapons. Oh, and leave your armor here, it'll slow you down..." Tohaa: A simple Kamael that lost his trident fighting the CA alongside humans, and had formed bonds with human comrades. I think it will be interesting to try portraying a person finding his way in a completely alien culture.
  12. If anyone has not seen the latest update from the Infinity RPG Kickstarter you might have missed the very shiny new faction D20′s that Q-Workshop are producing for the game. Very pretty dice if a little on the pricey side for £2 each but Q-Workshop make bespoke dice of very high quality. I wonder will these be available as general release from the Infinity store someday?
  13. I'm kind of excited for building characters in the RPG then converting to use in Infinity. Have always been more into the narrative than competitive play. Paradiso is great and a good compromise between competitive/balanced and narrative/justabitoffun - but I like the idea of a bit more flexibility - maybe develop a whole team of characters (anyone remember "Dogs of War" for Confrontation? - oops hope I'm allowed to say that...it's OOP now so no competition) and make that Ninja character. Would love to know if you can gain XP and improve via games of Infinity. Could add a whole new way to play. Obvious issue is, won't my carefully crafted, rounded human (or alien) beings get immediately murderised by sniper fire, monofilament, missiles etc. wonder how/if they'll get round that? Would be hard to make characters tough enough to survive bad dice....and then there's sepsitors, which could be really irritating. So my wild speculation - they mention a secret organisation. Do they have cube 2.0? But as its black market it doesn't have the protocols about blocking anyone who gets sepsitorised? In the main game I can see that bits needed for balance, in the RPG wouldn't apply? Other things is - RPG rules appear to include ship-to-ship rules - ship to ship combat followed by Infinity Boarding actions anyone? And more, importantly, dos this mean CB will start making tiny ship minis as well.....dear Santa.... Any other thoughts on integration?
  14. Taking a quick look at the background, it looks like there are really only two places that have a wide diversity in faction presence. Paradiso would be the most obvious, but is essentially a war zone at the moment. The only other one I can see is Earth, though I would think that Human Edge might also fit the bill. Thoughts and comments from the more experienced fluff-ologists out there...
  15. Feedback and constructive criticism welcome... Introduction: This is still just a rough skeleton, and there are still gaps big enough to run a TAG through. The intent of this system is to keep as close to that of the miniatures game as possible while adding enough detail to create a fun, action-oriented roleplaying game. Ownership of the Infinity book is required, as the background and many lists, such as weapons, are not duplicated here. Of course, having all the Infinity books gives you access to that much more fun. During this "development phase," default back to the Infinity rulebook for anything that seems ambiguous. Core System: The core system of the Infinity RPG is almost exactly the same as the miniatures game, and adds more detail about the magnitude of a success or failure. Normal Rolls: Roll a d20 against a target number - any result equal to or less than the target is a success. The target number will typically be an Attribute + Skill, modified by the situation as necessary. A success has a Level of Effect equal to the die roll divided by three, rounding down. A failure has a Level of Failure equal to the target number minus the die roll, divided by three, rounding down. Face to Face Rolls: Both sides roll d20s against their target numbers - the highest roll equal to or less than its target is a success. A success has a Level of Effect equal to the successful die roll divided by three, rounding down, minus the highest unsuccessful die roll, also divided by three, rounding down. RPG Attributes: The Infinity RPG uses only two primary attributes to represent your character. These are exactly the same as the tabletop game: Physical Capability (PH) includes strength, agility, and physical resilience. Mental Capability (WIP) includes intelligence, will power, wisdom, and mental fortitude. It uses two secondary attributes, both familiar from the miniatures game. Movement translates directly, and Wounds have been given a larger range, allowing for less granularity than OK - Unconscious - Dead. Movement defines how far you can move in a period of time, and can be modified by equipment, encumbrance, and /or training. Wounds represent how much damage you can take before being affected or overcome by your injuries. MOV - Race base - may be modified by Masteries PH - (Physical Capability) 1-20 range WIP - (Mental Capability) 1-20 range W - (Wounds) - initially equal to PH; may be modified by Masteries RPG Skills: There are eight skills in the Infinity RPG. Any untrained skill starts with a value of - 3 and can be trained up to 6. Close Combat (PH) - Military Norm = +2-3 Ranged Combat (PH) - Military Norm = +1 Dodge (PH) - Includes Athletics Subterfuge (PH) - Hiding, misdirection etc. Knowledge (WIP) - all knowledge and intellect based tasks Influence (WIP) - all charisma and personality based tasks Perception (WIP) - all sense and empathy based tasks Tech (WIP) - tech and computer use RPG Masteries: Masteries allow Skills to be used in unique or specific ways. Hacking - allows Tech to be used for Hacking Medic - allows Knowledge to be used for Healing Engineer - allows Knowledge to be used for Demolition Impersonate - allows Influence to be used for Impersonation Two Weapon (CC) - allows use of two Close Combat weapons in a single attack roll Two Weapon (Ranged) - allows use of two Ranged weapons in a single attack roll Camouflage - allows use of Thermoptics to support Sneak Leadership - allows Influence to be used to benefit others Martial Arts (multiple levels) - various advantages to unarmed attacks Sixth Sense (multiple levels) - various advantages against surprise Power Armor (multiple levels) - allows use of powered armor systems from Medium to TAG Valor (multiple levels) - allows WIP rolls to ignore injury MetaChemistry (multiple levels/multiple types) - allows control of various biotechnical implants/substances Pilot - allows Tech to be used for piloting Science (multiple types) - allows Knowledge to be used in specific fields Scout - allows Perception to be used in harsh environments Superior Movement (multiple levels) - increases MOV Deceit - allows Subterfuge to be used to support others Diplomacy - allows Influence to be used to benefit a group or organization Tough (multiple levels) - Increases W Character Creation: Attributes - PH and WIP both start at 6 and you have 10 points to distribute between the two. MOV starts at 4-4 for humans. W starts equal to your PH attribute. Both MOV and W can be increased by Masteries (see below). Skills - pick 4 Skills to start at 0; all others start at -3. You have 12 points to distribute amongst all your Skills, and any Skill improvement beyond +3 costs 2 points instead of 1. Example: You decide that Dodge is one of the skills you'd like to start at 0, and want to buy it up to 4. You spend 3 of your points to get to 3 and then 2 more, for a total cost of 5 points, to get to Dodge 4. Masteries - pick 4 Masteries. You may choose the same Mastery more than once of it has multiple levels or multiple types. Equipment - you have ?? to spend on starting equipment. Conflict (Turns): When it comes time to resolve a conflict, either combat or otherwise, follow this sequence. Roll Initiative - every character rolls a d20 against their WIP, just like the miniatures game, and the highest roll for each side is their Initiative. The side with the highest Initiative acts first, with a number of Actions equal to the number of characters or NPCs on that side. These Actions forum your Action Pool. Actions can be used by any character or NPC. A single character or NPC can use multiple actions, but suffers a modifier of -3 to rolls on the second action, -6 to the third, and so on. Any Action taken in an opponent's Line of Fire or Zone of Control allows the opportunity for a Reaction. The side with the next highest Initiative acts second, with their Actions, and so on till all sides have acted. Actions & Reactions: An Action or Reaction consists of using one or more skills. An Action may consist of one or two Short Skills (including Movement Short Skills), or one Long Skill. Taking an Action reduces your side's Action Pool by one. The same Short Skill may not be used twice in the same Action, excluding Movement Short Skills, exactly as the Infinity rules. A Reaction consists of one Short Skill. A Reaction does not reduce your side's Action Pool. Your first Action or Reaction is made with no modifier to the roll. Your second Action or Reaction has a -3 modifier to the roll. Your third, -6, and so on. When acting, you may reserve one of your Actions for future use during the Turn as a Reaction. If not taken before the end of the Turn, the opportunity is lost. Example: Knowing that he has tripped an alarm and security could enter the room at any moment, Carlos reserves his unmodified roll for use as a Reaction, and takes a -3 modifier to his Action of Hacking a corporate terminal, as if it were his second Action. Combat Rolls: Combat uses the basic core mechanic to determine success and Level of Effect. Example: Carlos and a security guard are shooting at each other, both with a target of 13. On the Face to face Roll, Carlos rolls a 9 and the guard rolls an 18. Carlos has hit with a Level of Effect of 3. When hit, you roll a d20 and add your ARM value against a target number of the weapon's damage value plus the Level of Effect for the strike. If the modified roll is over the target, the armor absorbs the damage. Otherwise, subtract the modified roll from the target and divide by three, rounding up. This is the damage taken. Example (continued): Carlos adds 3 to his weapon's DAM value of 13, making a target of 16 for the guard. The guard rolls a 9 and adds his ARM of 3, for a total of 12. The difference between target and roll is 4, resulting in 2 Wounds.
  16. Love the story and universe. Love the miniatures. It's an excellent tabletop game. ...but my interests lie more in using all this great stuff as an RPG as opposed to a miniatures game. Has anyone else explored this? What has worked or not worked for you? What system (if any) has the right feel?
  17. Hey guys, so I have been looking to run a infinity RPG and put in the work to convert infinity over to a d100 system. It is in a playable state but mostly untested and unpolished. I have linked a open source document so that you guys can feel free to add suggestions or help me with formating (somthing I am terrible with). Hope you enjoy it and can get some use out of it.   18. I just found out about this neat app that I've been abusing for the last few days. Its a simple RPG game that could go on a phone as it is designed to be an app. I was looking into how to make good habits, I got there from a YouTube video on how to make positive habits and from that a TED Talk on addictive behaviour. From that TED Talk, I got a Kotaku article on the benefits on gamifying your life. I've seen this be successful with all sorts of tasks: you no longer are taking out the trash, you're winning a bet or getting points. So what Habit RPG does is that you enter in habits you want to acquire or get rid of. You can have tasks as Quests that upon completion give you loot and levels. You can set the game so that good habits give you rewards, while whenever you do bad habits you take damage. Take too much damage and your adventurer dies. Another part of the addictive behaviours is a sense of community. Or rather competition. And you wonder why you keep logging back in despite your quite valid point in that thread arguing about the basics of the game we all play. Yeah, addiction. I'm asking to see if anybody already plays Habit RPG or would like to try it out. There's nothing more than "Hmm...   19. Do you think it is possible to play an RPG using Infinity universe and game rules? Like 3 or more players with a "DM". Maybe they can use Spec ops and experience system to buy stuff and improve their characters like in Paradiso. It would be like an typical scenario game based on what is happening in your story but instead of using an army, each player only controls one or two figs (their characters). Has anyone tried this or explored / discussed its game play?
