  1. Hello there, A few weeks ago, I sat at my room, doing nothing and wasting my time, so I decided to start painting all the miniatures that keep pilling up in a corner of my room. The troops of YuJing were the first victims to my newly found motivation and I even got to the point were I thought painting yellow is a nice idea (The nightmare of my early days). I bought the Imperial Service starter and some other to bolster the rank of everything Operation: Red Veil brought with it ( The Haqqislam part is almost finished, too) and at some point I fall in love with them. They are not as good as I would have liked (especially the base. Still a mystery to me) but i'm still proud of them ( and my continuing motivation to paint yellow ) Always open for criticism

  3. Welcome to my making-of ISS thread. I am a veteran of tabletop, absolvent of China studies, Cyberpunk nut, and heavily inclined to painting and crafting, and I love to take atmospheric pics of models on great backdrops. Infinity has me very impressed with its great ruleset, and gorgeous models. I keep this and my terrain thread (see link below) as a hobby-project on the side. Updates are rather irregular and tend to come in bursts. I hope you will find this blog enjoyable, and that you will find something to your liking. Thanks for reading! So, for a start, my second finished Infinity model! I'm terribly slow with progress in gerneral though, I was pretty invested in making terrain ( check out my "Neo Shanghai container crane" in arcologies: ). Looking forward to some replies! The base is scratchbuild. Don't know why I chose red L&M, I actually hate those.
  4. EDIT: Welcome to my thread. I'm a fairly new Infinity player, YuJing, former sinology-student, obsessed with tabletop. I think the game is incredible, CorvusBelli has the fire of a young, early 90's certain other tabletop company. Keep burning guys! I strive to create a gritty cyberpunk-table with asian theme. Feel free to follow me on my path to create the whore of YuTang, the twisted, cabled beauty of Neo-Shanghai. This section is new to give newcomers a quick and rough overview of what's going on in the thread and let you to know what you're getting into. Projects: Container crane, p.1: Shinawatra Tower, p.2: Malaysia Gate, p.3: I hope you enjoy the thread. Thanks for watching. -Yunzhi, Sep.'15 --- Original section --- My old thread got archived. *sigh* I'm just too unfrequent a poster to keep a proper blog-thread running.Anyway, here's the link to the old thread if you wanna catch up on some wip. those who remember, the container crane is finally finished! God knows when it'll be painted though, I have to focus on some minis first.Let me know what you think!
  5. Recently I've been expanding all of my armies. My panoceania and Haqqislam forces in particular have been growing rapidly. But it occured to me recently that I don't really have anything other than vanilla and QK units for my haqqlists. I was going to expand a bit and buy the hassassin starter and was wondering. Would you take Vanilla or Hassassin forces? Which do you think is more fun or more difficult to pull off well? Also since folks are here I suppose I should also ask what hassassin units are a must have in vanilla or the hassassin sectorials? Military orders as well if you wouldn't mind.
  6. Infinity at 500pts level: YuJing vs PanOceania at ‘Capture & Control’ 500pts is unusual. It’s a great excuse to get your HI and TAGs, and generally field more of your larger collection at once in the same game. You have a much higher SWC cap but remember that AVA doesn’t increase. Some people think you need a 6’/4’ table, but I disagree. Infinity isn’t cramped with two full control groups, and unless you are trying to go out to 40 models or something, 4/4 is still fine. Generally you’ll see your ‘cheerleaders’ turn into more expensive ARO-capable guys. The list I tried is meant to synergize SunTze a bit better. At smaller scale, he’s paying a bit too much for his benefits while not having a profile that takes the game to the enemy. In a bigger game however, winning the LT becomes more important, and you can take other big investments that benefit from advanced command. I also like the synergy whereby strategos denies the enemy the ability to reserve drop their TAG somewhere that Shinobu can’t get to them after she uses superior infiltration. YanHuo is a disappointment as usual. He’s great against weak players… but against someone who knows what they’re doing, it’s too slow to reposition and the enemy can simply deny him the chance to shine. 500 points ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 19 1 1 SHINOBU Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Monofilament CCW. 7. Supremacy is a mission that really rewards taking second turn, just like all of the other missions that score at 'end of game round'. However, I do like the fact that it is difficult to have more quadrants than your opponent, and if they are defending well, the consoles become tiebreakers. It's a decent mission.
  8. Firefight is an interesting take on the old annihilation scenario. It's possible to come out with more points than your opponent, but still lose because he/she sniped out more LT's, specialists, as well as completing more panoplies/classifieds. But that's rare. What's more interesting is the increased 16" DZ and the ability for regular drop troopers to be Van Zant for a day. Check out the commentary on Youtube:

  11. Hello All, I'll be relocating from Maryland to Palm Coast / St.Augustine in a few months for a job and was wondering if there was an Infinity community nearby? I've done a little research and found CoolStuffGames in Jacksonville and D20Gamespot in St.Augustine but am not sure what the infinity scene is like at either shop. Seems like Orlando might have the biggest player base, but I could use some guidance from my fellow gamers here. I've been playing for a couple years now, and have had plenty of ITS experience. Thanks!

  13. Task Force Blue November Supplies Seizure After Action Report: As Submitted by Weibing Firefly Bard Upon the placid shores off plant Zhurong, Yet another barbaric, uncouth, and evil wrong, Joan, Jotum, and co verily and greedily descended. Brave Yan Huo Hydra Mammoth would see that amended, Securing the monthly batch of tasty footlong. The blue devils moved with naked aggression. The great Jotum hunkered down in suppression. The doctor knight stole our first sandwich crate. And the Nisse watched across the long straight. Quickly did the Pan O secure their half section. Calmly Guilang stole the crates on their route. Courageous but reckless the Shaolin ran out, Straight into the the Jotum’s deadly fire. The Nisse was drowned in hyper sonic mire, As Mammoth lumbered to a forward redoubt. The blue giant became the heart of the storm, Yuriko fell first to the devastating bullet swarm. The Jotum crashed forth, machine gun ablaze. While the Su Jian did loose rocket into the haze. But it too fell before being able to transform. Brave a Hydra Mammoth stood agape and stunned, For the secret love of his life had just be outgunned. Distant cold Yuriko, who set bombs with cold ease Whose driven focus could make his breath seize, Was now one more death among the great many hund. Forth the titan strode, coated in most fresh gore But broken was Mammoth’s steel clad core Yet within his central void a spark did ignite An inferno, a white star, an all consuming light. For all is not fair, in love and, especially, war. Onward did the impassioned Yan Huo hotly trek For it was time to cash the blood soaked check. The air flared hot white with their mighty volley Till finally the Jotum paid for it’s barbaric folly And a Kuang Shi thoroughly finished that wreck. Still Roaring loud as tempestuous Zeus, More of his swift projectiles did he loose. Against tearing anguish did Mammoth strive. Whirling and screaming the bullets did arrive, Nipping at Joan’s ALEPH sculpted caboose. In panic and terror did Pan Oceania hide, Such dishonor Mammoth could not abide. Forward to the knight who held last footlong. Bullets bouncing off him like many ping-pong, Till the sandwich was rightfully at his side. Thus in the sun’s quickly fading glow in crushing the great and dire foe, Mammoth’s deeds carried the day, Securing enough sandwiches till May. But, alas not his dear beloved Yuriko. Had lots of fun with this one. Trying to pull a narrative from the void while making it rhyme was maddening work. Even got half way through before realizing I had gotten the rhyme scheme wrong... Classifieds were Telemetry for my opponent and HVT designation for myself. Both of which were accomplished. All hail the FO!
  14. The nice people over at Guerrilla Miniatures Games on youtube have posted a 360 degree view video of the shiny new Hac Tao Hacker. Looks pretty good to me: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> But the most interesting part to me was the comment: "When Human Sphere N3 is released, he will also have access to a Killer Hacking Device!" Now Hac Tao Hackers are already a great assault specialist and general combat unit, what do we think HS N3 will do to change their Hacking Device?
  15. Hello friends, i'm a new french gamer, here is my first Yujing painted squad. I'm not a great painter, but more will come later as soon as it will be painted! <3
  16. Hello, Here I am another new infinity player saying, "hello!", and oh dear please help me. I have been playing with a friend for about four months now. He has the operation ice storm starter, got me interested, and has been playing Nomads. I loved the models and started collecting some Yu Jing troops. I really like the fluff, and the mechanics (as I understand them) as well. If your sensing a but coming, it is, and I think its probably a pretty typical question(s). But... I feel like I am struggling to get a real grip on the game. In terms of mechanics, I think I get the rules, but in play, situations keep coming up that I don't know how to resolve. It is also hard for me to see the purpose of some of the abilities. For example, Kinimatica seems super cool! But, in so many situations it seems better to shoot back, or to not provoke the ARO. CC is another good example. Its neat that I have some many units with high CC, but given how infrequently it comes up, and how inexpensive and devastating shotguns are, it feels like I'm paying (in points) for a skill I can't use. In general its sort of hard for me to see why the tricks and abilities the different factions get make up for Pan O's BS privilege. What made me decide to write this post is this. I have read, and in the case of many sections repeatedly reread, the rule book. I have read many of the beginners guides, and starting with Yu Jing articles that I've been able to find. I've watched a fair few battle reports. Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone else playing in our area.I was starting to feel like I was finally getting to grips with how the basic game works. Then in my last game my friend used his gecko to alpha strike me. It was a total wash, and that wouldn't be so bad, if I felt like I understood why it happened, but I thought I had prepared well for that exact eventuality. So my questions are these. Does anyone have any recommendations for learning and getting better at the game? Are there any articles you would specifically recommend? Do you have any general advice? Is there hope, or am I destined for re-education in one of the Dragons camps for criminally bad players. I mean, I'm just saying, I wouldn't want to be one of my troopers. Poor guys. TL;DR Hi, Any recommendations for how to learn and get better at playing infinity, especially Yu Jing. Thank you
  17. Hello, I'm looking to build a yu jing army for my brother, I run nomads and my friends are PanO and CombinedArmy. I know almost nothing about the yu jing except that they look like they would be super good at CC and slightly less at BS. So I'm asking for a functional list of 200pts that can be played by anyone, preferably with abilities or skills that can introduce him to the basics of everything(hacking for example) He says he'd like a slightly more offensive build, less defensive. Thanks in advance and thanks for taking the time to help me/us.
  18. This is what I'll be fielding, roughly based on what models I have and what I can comfortably proxy (and by "comfortably" I mean proxying Kuangshi with actual Zombie models... I'm working on it). Some comments: I don't know what I'll be facing, but clubmates play rather friendly than cheesyI read up on the hacking rules and I love my hacker model, would love to keep him in, unless you tell me otherwiseI'd appreciate comments on the overall equipment of the group, I don't really have a feeling for that stuff yetshould I absolutely try to cram a MSV in there for smoke shenanigans?is it a big deal to have 4pt. left? I know 1 more point would grant me another KuangShi, but I don't feel like changing anything that I've chosen so far Please c&c away 玉京 万岁!
  19. So i wanted to show you some of my works as i am at last happy with the standard i oaint things. Here we go: Combined Army And the begginings of my Yu Jing force: Photos of good quality thanks to Shizune C&C welcome Cheers Varred
  20. Greetings fellow Yu Jing players. I play Vanilla Yu Jing for the most par. I have the ability to run ISS or JSA, I just personally prefer vanilla. I don't consider myself a bad player, I'd like to think I'm pretty ok. However, since reading the forums a lot more now, I find that the Yu Jing community here is rife with very knowledgeable players, with a lot of insight into the game. I'd like to try up my game to the next leve. As far as my list building mentality goes, I like to try to fit in as even a balance as I can of specialists vs firepower in my list, and try to keep versatility as component of the list. 300pts : Zanshi FO x2 Zanshi - Lt Tiger Soldier Hacker Hac Tao HMG Pheasant Agent Oniwaban Tokusetsu Eisei Yuriko oda Shinobu Yao Zao alt. Zanshi Hacker x2 Zanshi Lt Tiger Soldier Hacker Hac Tao HMG Pheasant Agent Oniwaban Tokusetsu Eisei Yuiko Oda Tiger Solider Boarding Shotgun Yao Zao These are the lists I'm currently working experimenting with. I like the Oniwaban, Shinobu, and Hac Tao, they were some of the units that really drew me to Yu Jing but I also want to maximize my versatility and effectiveness of my specialists. o my main question is how do you go about approaching list building? How do you balance fire power and specialists in Yu Jing, ISS or JSA? What criteria do you use to judge whether a unit is worth taking or effective in regards to capability and points cost? Any wisdom and advice you could pass on would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Relatively new to Infinity, and new as of today to the forum. With the O-Yoroi TAG (and any other model like this), when you shoot do you shoot the HMG and the Heavy Flamethrower with one short skill? I ask because in the equipment section it's not listed as "HMG, Heavy Flamethrower", it's listed as "HMG + Heavy Flamethrower". Thanks!
  22. hello there in this post I will be posting all the Infinity miniatures I paint. To start this post I put my last work. This is a commission work for a spannish distributor I do with Angel Giraldez. this client has various armyes and we usually paint the new minis for him every two or three months. this time is a batch of Panoc and some aleph, they are mostly painted by me and retouched by my master Angel Giraldez . the aleph:
  23. I have been playing with my friend for months now. I have been slowly building up my army week by week. Every paycheck I get I generally buy about 2-4 new minis. The problem I have is he is ariadna and he is pretty much all camo tokens. I can't see any of his guys and when I do it is generally to late. I make a lot of discover checks but barely ever make the check. My rolls aren't the best and he seems to roll crazy good. If someone has any advice on a character that I should use or get. Please let me know. Some advice on this match up would be helpful.
  24. Hi, Few times I had a pleasure to play against Ariadna (my army was Yu Jing) and every time I had real hard time with Cameronian charge. Usual scenario for such troop: get to oponent's base, take out as many as possible (usually 3-4, troops, not basic infantry so casualties were heavy). Do you have any good practices against such unit? My ideas are: - take him out using obiwaban - place Yaokong Husong near and have hope to get good rolls with TotalReaction and HMG I'll be gratefull for any suggestions, as soon enough I'll play again against dogface. Thanks,
