Ha ha ha, I see what you did there! Don't worry though, I'm sure we'll get a unique character before too long...At least I hope so.

Good quote comrade and written in Cyrillic too. Definitely relevant and sums up the Kazak ideal!

Strategos L3 Stalin incoming

Awww who am I kidding? We're Ariadna, it will be L2 at best.

Just a note. Veteran L2 means that Veteran Kazaks are immune to E/M, so there's no need to take a Dozer to cover them for that.

Otherwise pretty solid man.

Oh snap! I forgot about that! I got so caught up in the fact that it affected the other HI in Ariadna that I forgot it didn't bother the Vets, thanks for the correction!

Haha. No worries. There's so many rules embedded in other rules in this game, it's not hard to lose track of them!

I know the Veterans are resistant to the isolated part of E/M, but are they are also resistant to the Immobilized-2 part of it as well? It does say it effects all heavy infantry if they're hit. If so, that definitely makes them one of Ariadna's best HI choices without a doubt!

I didn't think about that actually. The Veteran rule specifically states that they are immune to the isolate state from EM but doesn't say anything about the IMM-2 state. So they can be effected by the IMM-2 state. So in fact you do want a Dozer!

Looks like we both got tricked up by it! I really hope that gets FAQed though. We used to not be vulnerable to that kind of stuff, but now we are. It's kind of confusing. I don't know if that was an overlook or not. Either way, it makes the Dozer much more appealing now.

This is great clonespotter. I'm super excited for this sectorial when Acheron Falls comes, seeing as the Kazaks have the vast majority of my favourite sculpts.

Edit: Can I get some list judgment?

Veteran Kazak     LT+APHMG     1 / 47          Assault

Veteran Kazak     Paramedic       0 / 39          Assault / Specialist

Spetsnaz             HMG                1.5 / 38       Midfield

Spetsnaz             BSG                 0 / 33          AD Assault

Tankhunter          ADHL               0 / 25          HI/TAG killer

Tankhunter          Autocannon     1.5 / 34       HI/TAG killer

Scout                  FO                    0 / 30          Midfield / Specialist

Scout                  FO                    0 / 30          Midfield / Specialist

Dozer                                           0 / 13          Midfield support / Specialist

Line Kazak          Paramedic        0 / 11          Midfield support / Specialist

In total, 4 / 300, 10 orders, 5 specialists, 6 camo markers. Very aggressive list. All about the front liners pushing forward whilst being supported by the Dozer, Line kazak and my camo shell

I think the Irmies will be USAriadna but not Kazakadna, unfortunately. They aren't in the MRRF or CHA. It's a shame because I think I'd rather have them than the Dozer because they can give super cheap templates in the form of the CR variant.

Irmandenhos should be Kazak. Why? Because they are near the seas, where the Kazak are! The USariadna almost has no sea actually. Also, the irmandenhos is described in fluff as having a connectuon yo the kazaks!

I will be severely dissapointed if they go the US :-(

Huh. Interesting. I saw the name "Irmandinhos" and assumed it had some link to Mexican-Americans. But I guess the book's fluff has the final word there.

Turns out upon reasearch "irmandade" (from the flavour text on the old miniature page) is a Portugese or Brazilian Portugese word. In spanish it would be "hermandad" so it doesn't really work for Mexican-Americans.

I'm glad you appreciate it and I hope you'll get some good use out of it and so will any new recruits to the Kazak force or veterans looking to sharpen their skills.

That's actually a pretty strong list you've got there BurningSky93. You're definitely capitalizing on a lot of the great things the Kazaks can bring to the table and I think that list should treat you pretty well. I know I would play it, so it's got my seal of approval ;)  The only change I would make is to switch one of your paramedics (like the Line Kazak one) to a forward observer, so you can get some more super neat-o spotting advantages and then spend that one point on the Dozer to give them the Glue-'zooka.

That's my personal opinion anyway. I rarely have any luck with paramedics, so I tend to stay away from them and I definitely enjoy using giant adhesive bazookas to mess with my opponents, especially those who forgot their engineers at home   :D

Awesome writeup! However, i got a few things.

Mul's are actually more Awesome, however. You need to take a Wardriver to make them really shine. because you then can give them Marksmanship 2, and on medium bracket Ranges, it is B 3 BS 13 ignoribg cover and AP Shock Ammo dam 14. A great road Block on a flank ;-)

Also, i play with irmandenhos because they are Awesome, cheap and fun yo use with 2 Dog Warriors by their side!

You do bring up some interesting points here Narnor. I was focusing more on the units we know for certain are going to be in the Kazak sectorial, but in the mean time I could put up some info on the Wardriver and Irmies until we know for sure if they're in or not. I'll get to work on that right now!

Edit: I finished the "Allies" section just for you Narnor and even included your tidbit about the Muls and Wardrivers  ;)

Yeah, let's not have Stalin - the man who systematically starved and killed more people (not that quantity matters) in the name of personal power...

And actually wasn't a Cossack himself.

Bohdan Chmielnicki recreation NOW! ;)

And more in topic:

While I agree with most of the statements (some of them are too optimistic ;)), in my opinion Scout or Spetsnaz with Sniper Rifle are obsolete next to their Ojotnik or HMG variants. Unfortunately, because models are awesome.

Sorry if anyone is offended, it was merely a joke.  He was the first prominent Russian figure that came to mind.  In fact, trying to think of an example now and having been taught history in the West, it's difficult to think of someone who did not commit atrocities.  Civilization uses Catherine the Great so maybe she is fairly safe?

Bohdan Khmelnytsky was pretty badass. :)

Being too optimistic is never a bad thing ;) Good point though, I'll work on giving it a more "down to Earth" feel right now.

I wouldn't say that their sniper options are obsolete, but I dedimitely agree that these options aren't auto-includes by any syretch of the imagination. But I agree with you, their other loadouts are dedimitely appealing as well and gives the snipers some tough competition.

Thank you for doing this. I'm strongly looking at Kazaks when the sectorial is released, as a sort of opposite to the small-elite of my Steel Phalanx.

Perhaps someone could answer a fluff question for me. We constantly refer to the Kazaks as Russian. Are they not Cossacks/Kazaks? As in Kazakstan? I don't really know enough about the region/history to be able to say, but I thought the Cossacks were a seperate people who kinda opted out of soviet Russia?

I am always glad to help out a fellow comrade! A Kazak force will definitely give you a whole new flavor to play with.

That is a tough question and I don't know for certain, but I think by "Kazak" CB merely meant Eastern European as a whole. They aren't truly Russian and the name points at a different Slavic group than Russian, but they still have quite a bit of influence from modern Russia, like a majority of Eastern European countries. As I said, I like to just think of them as a collective of the Slavic people rather than one whole modern ethinic group or modern nation. Also, many people sadly refer to the Slavic people, as a whole, as Russians since they don't really the difference between one group or another. Hope that helps a bit!

You are right by saying they are different than the Russians and did their best to seperate themselves.

We have no idea, but they do tend to use Russian words for things - so I'm tempted to think that CB just used one of the myriad spellings for the factions of people calling themselves Kozaks.  Also, Cossacks/Kozaks aren't historically only Russian (see Khmelnytsky, etc.), so it's really hard to tell what CB intended.

Agreed!  "Russian" seems to be a blanket term a lot of the time, when it really shouldn't.  I've been tempted to paint my Kozak sectorial with the Ukrainian blue/yellow insignias, and I don't think it would be any less historically proper.

@clonespotter and penemue

Thank you. In not trying to become a regional expert or anything, but it's such an interesting part of the world Id like to try and get them as accurate as possible. The reason that raised doubts in my mind, I came across this photo, which is a khazakstan paratrooper regiment...

Clearly ethnically different to a russian, but got those stripy Spetznas shirts
