CORAHTAR DISCIPLINE LEVEL1 (DEPLOYMENT SKILL) LABELS Obligatory

REQUIREMENTS - To be able to use the Level 1 of this Special Skill the Troop Profile must include the SymbioMate or SymbioBomb piece of Equipment.

EFFECTS - During the Deployment Phase, troopers possessing this Special Skill may assign SymbioMates or SymbioBombs to other troopers of their own army or to themselves, if they meet the Requirements for this piece of Equipment.

Kaeltar can assign Tohaamon to themselves.

Are you sure? Aren't "meeting the requirments for this equipment" to have active symbiont armour?

"if they meet the Requirements for this piece of Equipment" ie. if they have Symbiot armor which they apparently don't..?

Of course this leaves open the possibility of later getting models with Corahtar & symbiont armor,

like Kaeltars would be the priest guys and then there will be some SUPER COOL BATTLE MAGE dude with wip 15, symbiont armor & corahtar + tohaamons

might be cool

They just left options open for later, which is wise.

Yeah I mixed up skill and equipment there. Kaeltars don't really seem to have any other skill other than "Tohaamon trainer" and then sitting back whilst the savage creatures fight each other after they've been pooped from their Tohaaballs. There's no mention of any other Equipment which would let them use them.

What I wonder is if Kaeltars are able to use all the Tohaamon spells by themselves, if this are only usable by spending Tohaamons then it is very limited.

Since the Tohaa spells specifically state "sacrifice one Tohaamon you bloodthirsty sadistic child" I think not. There would be a new skill as well for the Kaeltars in any case

No, Kaeltars give Symbios to other Tohaa models (whom became the users of the Symbios), and only to those with Synmbiont Armor.

Only the Symbio's users can use the "programs", and they are one-use-only.

If the skills can only be used by Symbion Armour troops and are limited to one symbiobomb per troop it is waaaay to limited, if the Kaeltars can use the abbilities by burning Symbiombs they could replentish those via baggage. I don't get why writing so many rules for a one use only per game thing.

Maybe you can replentish Symbios using baggage, but it's explicitly stated in the new Tohaa Rules (pun intended) pdf that Symbios are only asigned during deployment. And Kaeltars don't have Symbiont Armour, so they can't use the Symbios themselves.

So, looks like we'll have to wait until we have a new Tohaa model/profile with both Corahtar Discipline N1 and Symbiont Armour.

I like it the way it is: interesting, different and not overpowered.

Also note that the CORAHTAR DISCIPLINE is a LVLed skill. So maybe down the line they release a model with Lvl.2 that wont need to expend a Symbiobomb to use the PHEROWARE TACTICS but something else like by sacrificing a would of the Symbiot Armor instead for example.

*Koni saves the day. Again.*

I didn't see any pictures of new minis, so no..you.. didn;t.

If the skills can only be used by Symbion Armour troops and are limited to one symbiobomb per troop it is waaaay to limited,

The alternative is way to powerful

That,s called good, complete and interesting rules writing. not every rule is used in every game multiple times, but yet there they are....

Too poweful for being a biohacker? They cannot help AD troops, neither remotes, cannot spotlight, cannot open doors, are not specialists. They can harm or disrupt W models which is something that every weapon does.

And don't pay for any of that, so it's fine. Although the Chain of Command version is indeed a Specialist.

Few weapons can do that in ZOC (The Jammer, I think, and it doesn't do damage). And no weapon makes Tohaa immune to fire. Not to mention the lack of offensive hackers was supposed to be one of the balancing points of the Tohaa, so maybe it wouldn't be wise to give them unrestricted access to it?

Just saying.
