Curious to know a bit more about this campaign book.

How many missions are in it?  Terrain ideas etc etc etc?

thanks,

Doug

It's a narrative campaign featuring the first contact between the Tohaa and the human Sphere, ideally for 4 players featuring a series of linked missions broken up into 4 acts of 2-3 missions each. Each mission also has a "Canonical" variant with the forces that fought it in canon.

There's also an XP and upgrade system that can be used to either upgrade a Spec-Op with new skills and equipment or buy bonuses for your force with extra SWC/Points or bonuses to the initiative roll.

The featured missions are very much a "proto ITS" and don't quite have the same balance as the current ITS missions but there's a lot of theme to them.

There's also a decent sized section of at-the-time new units and rules including the introduction of the Tohaa and Steel Phallus but this has all been superseded by N3 and HSN3.

You can use paper markers or generic buildings for some pf those,  however.

The main concern is to find regular players to play with for this campaign...

If you play its missions your already have solutions for objectives ... @Section 9 you're a bit excessive lol

The trick is getting at least 4 players (or a multiple of 4 - 8/12/16) and KEEPING them motivated enough to want to continue playing.
Especially given the ...confusing ... wording of many of the missions.  They aren't the easiest missions to decipher - information is hidden all over the place.
After a couple of losses, they end up with one player above the others with more bonuses and the motivation to keep pissing uphill into the wind just isn't there.
(Maybe I just hang with gamers who aren't committed enough - maybe I just haven't had enough of them committed?)

There's only one scenario where I've added to the list of required terrain from the book, that's #205.  The whole train maintenance yard isn't required per se, but it's the mission setting from the fluff.

...but if you're unlucky, the game runs really long, and you end up with so many on the table that you just say "screw it, they're everywhere, I'm not placing anymore templates...for the love of god, who even has that many templates!" :_crying__rvmp_by_bad_blood:
