Very nice post! A long and indepth view from different players that gave me new persective on some of our units, and semented my existing feelings about others. Altough it was a long read, I´m already looking forward to the next installment. Great work!

I use this to ask a question to the NCA players: How are you able to keep playing the Auxilia?

I fail to find them a place in my lists and greatly prefer to put in CSUs instead. When you already have a linkteam and specialists with servants, adding G: Sync tends to leave me uncomfortable as it left only two or three models to coordinate.

Its getting harder and harder, but auxbots prove a great asset at deterring flank assaults and giving us a nice fire template. Its a tradeoff...
But TBH, the coordinated orders/g:sync rules feel really wonky and awkward.

Nowadays, I just play them for fun. A friend of mine 3D printed and painted a Claptrap so I could use it as an auxbot, and it's so amazing that I feel almost forced to play at least one auxilia.

Jokes aside, they're very good DZ defenders with the large flame template and the combirifle; with two of them you can cover most of the zones a paratrooper could land, and they provide 2 orders for 28pts. However, the continious nerf to G:Sync models have made Auxilias quite unefficient as attack pieces.

The same, I paint all my Auxbots in CL4P-TP schemes (my avatar is one of them). The one which fits the most about the sensation of playing ClapTrap is the GdA one though, with its light shotgun and a crappy bs.

Maybe I should try to buid lists with more orders so they can shine a bit.

For the moment, I'm more in the mood of making good lists with 10 orders mass armoured only, but they don't fit in those lists. Might work better with 13-14 orders lists.

I do still run the Auxilia because they're one of the few (and certainly the cheapest) template users. That heavy flamer auxbot is still too important for dealing with Warbands, burning off TO/ODD, stepping on mines, clearing links with a 6/4 MOV. They feel order inefficient because you can't coordinate them, but it's fine - the reality is you just stick them in the pool with the Fusilier link (who also can't coordinate) and save you command tokens for everything/everybody else.

I still think that the 15 pt package of a cheap reserve specialist, DTW for defending your deployment zone, mine/Warband clearing option, Flash Pulse ARO, and backup attack piece (because even alone it's astonishing how effective HFW+Combi Rifle is for straightup killing) is worthwhile.

Now, yes, they do tend to spend a lot of most games simply playing cheerleader, and they don't show up as more than a pair (not that I'd ever bothered getting more of them than that). Nevertheless the Auxilia are a worthwhile option to include (especially alongside a pair of CSUs with Nanopulsars) as deployment defense and backup options.

I still use Auxilia a lot both in Vanilla and NCA, the disposable Auxbot just had so many applications that it more than makes up for not being part of Co-ordinated orders, add in they're a specialist for grabbing objectives on your side of the table (if appropriate) and the fact they can see over their S1 Auxbot making for some great corner guarding when they're in suppression fire and you've got a damn useful trooper.

Plus, when I'm playing a sectorial my command tokens tend to be held for reforming links and doctor/engineer checks, though I tend to play aggressive HI/MI links more than line trooper ARO links so losing the leader is more common.

I think it's important to give every unit a fair shake when writing up a tactica.  That being said though, I feel myself fielding Auxilia less and less.  When I first started NeoTerra 3 years ago, I would regularly field 4 of them.  Then 2.  Then sometimes 1.  More and more frequently now, I feel none in my NCA lists.  15 points can be applied to so many valuable things in NCA, I'm often very happy letting go of the Auxilia.  They remain a very useful defensive unit and deterrent, and g:synch is still a good rule, but their repeated waves of nerfs have definitely caught up with them.
