Heads up: Registered Bounty Hunters

52 posts in this topic

Supposedly Imperial Service have new profiles for Bounty Hunters, Ashcroft and Lucien Sforza with a new icon that is unique to Imperial Service, and according to the Facebook post they should be live now. Army is up to date on the desktop version only, the PDF just got uploaded as I write this. The old Authorized profiles are still there, here's what's new with the new Registered profiles:

Lucien: Regular, +Dogged, +Heavy Pistol, +5 pts
Miranda: Regular, +Duo(Bounty Hunter), +Specialist Operative, +5 pts
Bounty Hunters: Regular, +2 pts

This is supposedly a permanent change. Note: The Authorized version of Sforza also got the addition of a Heavy Pistol.

Damn, ISS got waaaaaaaaaaay too much love from CB since HSN3.

Not sure if this will change anything for the classic bounty hunters (even with duo, they don't really bring anything useful for ashcroft), but it definitely makes ashcroft and sforza more interesting than before. Not that they needed it, they were quite good already.

A Regular Bounty Hunter sniper is really quite a bargain for that modest pt bump.

in the pdf under the ISS table there are notes about the Registered profiles. But said profiles are neither found in the YJ profiles nor the MERC profiles... I'm happy to hear they get Regular for 2pts and Miranda as a Duo :D

It's funny how the search function on the PDF reacts as if there's TWO Lucien profiles on the same page, it gets twice as many hits as it should on that particular page (and that's twice as many as the 3.7 pdf did). Might be a borked pdf build

Thanks! Both versions seem to have this change.

I could see using Miranda Duo to tow a Boarding Shotgun Hunter up the table with her. Stick her in Suppression somewhere in the midfield after pushing a button, then unleash the Shotgun on the enemy DZ. And that's assuming you don't roll something really cheeky on the Booty table, like Motorcycle or HMG.

Just want to point out that Miranda + ABH Spitfire Duo is pretty great now. You get a warm body that can have a huge variety of guns (seriously there isn't really a single bad thing on the Booty L2 table, from secondary guns, to smoke to Mimetism and ODD, that table is always good. Even the Bike doesn't make him Impetuous.)

Also she is a ODD Specialist with I-Kohl and potential B2 in CC now. Kinda huge difference to before. ABH Spitfire + Miranda BSG sound good to me. Combi + Sniper doesn't look half bad either.

Sforza is also a big winner. 5 points for Regular, Dogged and Heavy Pistol seems much, but you can now easily hide him (because Regular) and Dogged is a seriously good skill for a BS 13, Surprise Shot, X-Visor Viral Combi for 30 points. Don't see much use for the Heavy Pistol, but I guess you have it if you run into something with BTS9 like a TAG so... hey not useless.

Hey! Are these confirmed permanent changes? All I see is that they are ITS official and don't replace the original profiles.

The Miranda + ABH Duo is already in the Offical Profiles PDF on the CB website. Apparently all Profiles are ITS legal for ISS, so I'd assume this is a permanent change.

There are some comments on facebook stating that these changes will not carry over after the Wotan event. Is this correct?

Which comments are that? This is what Facebook's translation of Bostria says (with no reply to the guy fishing for confirmation that it's permanent after Woyan as well):

These profiles are only available for imperial service from now on. They don't replace existing profiles. Complementary Profiles are allowing the use of a bounty hunter with regular troop cost in a specific sector of yu jing.
Is this legal in str and wotan.

Pretty sure Sforza has had a heavy pistol since HSN3.

Pretty sure he hasn't, though it's easy to forget when you are packing a Viral Rifle.

Mostly agreed, except that I'd never take anything but combi on MIranda because Suppressive Fire with ODD is so very, very good. Miranda and a Spitfire ABH is going to be a very popular team-up.

The B2 in CC is pretty horrifying too.

I'll definitely be fielding these guys as a secondary hitter team anytime I'm facing a hacking-heavy foes from now on. They'll also be great for holding Antennae in Transmission Matrix. very convenient, that....

Also this is a great opportunity to convert up some characterful mercenaries. I think I may make mine an alien defector.

Hm, the Heavy Pistol is a nice addition. Gives him a much better 0-8 weapon when he really wants to win that FTF roll, plus Shock is pretty handy! The changes to Sforza are really nice, and while 25 -> 30pts is a pretty hefty increase it does seem worthwhile, and I'm excited to get back on the ISS train after my local league wraps up (been missing my links!)

Miranda and the ABH I'm sure about, but becoming Regular for only 2pts makes the ABH much more attractive to me.

Perfectly understandable. The other Clint Eastwood reference is packing the trademark revolver and poncho. Why wouldn't the Dirty Harry expy be carrying 'the most powerful handgun ever?'

I'm kind of stoked. Decent BS and access to the SWC thrifty spitfire and sniper rifle and some booty2? Heck yeah!

Lucien is apparently Walt Kowalski (signature pose and all), not Dirty Harry. Walt didn't have "the most powerful handgun ever", though I suppose an M1911 qualifies as a Heavy Pistol. Anyway, that's an aside.

No, it's the children who are wrong.
(I am aware ARMY trumps book but I wasn't making things up at least).
