Looks like a Makaul bought a merc outfit from Star Wars the Old Republic. What do you guys make of the unit?

I don't know how to classify the Jäger:

- Uniform like the Kerail.
- Render showing Haqq. Boarding Shotgun.
- Warband-like weapons.
- But no smoke grenade.

 

So, probably, he'll be similar to the Krakot: a bad shooter that wants to get close to the enemy but lacks smoke to cover himself. Hopefully this guy will also come with cool/weird equipment.

And, thankfully, we can easily proxy it :P

 

Any word about when CB will release the profile?
When does the new ITS season begin?

New Tohaa always interests me.  Someone in the august thread did say he was going to be available to vanilla factions which is kinda unfortunate, was hoping for some Triumvirate previews.  Also makes me think how do we not have a Taqeul dossier yet?

Cause like with the Blackjack, the company is not actively working on these models at all.

What will, be interesting is how different he will be from Miranda Ashcroft. She has great equipment (mono CCW, ODD, iKhol) but on a very average chassis, though priced accordingly.

Mono CCW will be not much much use without a delivery system and good CCstats/MA. I'm hoping for camo, holo, impersonation or infiltration...

Oddly that is almost exactly what I was thinking with the exception of the Martial Arts. I was also figuring a couple other weapon options that we didn't see in the picture.

Just because a unit is equiped with a mono ccw, it doesn't it must have a delivery system or be really proficient using it. For example the Pheasant never had any way to deliver to cc despite being charged with great cc skills (and before hsn3 a mono ccw). Designers many times add equipment as a bloat to the profile. Also AM3 is for greatly skilled martial artists, and that troop doesn't look like that. Expect AM 2 at best.

Scavenger works really bad with Monofilament CCW.

That's why i don't think they'll have scavenger.

That's exactly why I do think it will have Scavenger.  Mercs are kitted suboptimally, because they are offered to multiple factions.

yeah, maybe.

tbh i imagine (since there is no fluff available at the moment) that cube jaeger are guys whose role is to kill sempsitorized/turned fellow soldiers and steal their cube to prevent resurrection. Effectively crippling CA of soldiers.

so, in case of Tohaa Vs CA, CA sempsitor some tohaa. Cube jager are dispatched to basically kill anyone and steal their cubes. cubes will be put into a vault to be "revived" as soon as a cure for sempsitor is found

So I am thinking AVA 2 in all Vanilla Factions and AVA 3 in QK with a possible AVA 4-6 in Triumvirate. With the Haqq gun on the mini and the unit logo looking less Tohaa and more Haqq it makes me think their Merc sectorial will see the unit.

I'm for ava 1 all sectorials, AVA 2-3 on tohaa or other sectorial

Hyperbole, we know they've been working on concepts since the HSN3 as in the Beasts of War videos Bostria described them as being in early concept, but they were struggling with the exact look and feel for the models. From recent interviews we know they still don't have anything they're comfortable showing us.

I like it, but I don't expect every faction getting an Impersonator.

in fact, every faction won't get an impersonator.

  • This Level of Impersonation is less effective against armies formed by members of a species alien to the user. A human trooper (in a Haqqislam army, for example) with Basic Impersonation can never adopt the Impersonation-1 state against an alien army (the Combined Army, for example).

 

so, if the impersonator is Tohaa. you can never impersonate, unless you fight tohaa, since every other army is "alien" for to the user.

There should be a KHD option to irritate CA players. Sure they would have access to it, but it wouldn't be one of their units... :)

No, you would enter the Impersonation-2 state.  A messy impersonator like this would be a good way to give stock to skills like Biometric Visor, which currently don't have much application.
