How to Lose Friends and Alienate People - ISS edition.

So Hi guys,
New on here, and new to IS (after a very long battle convincing the forum I was not a spam-bot), and thought I'd share an idea for Imperial service I've been trying out, and get some input - find out if I'm being a jerk, or if this is a pretty legit idea.

So - I've been playing Imperial service a lot lately, and I've had a reasonable amount of success with the following 'module' for a List;

9 Orders, 107 points.
The logic is to have Su-Jian Rambo like a jerk, fuelled by the cheap Kuang Shi Orders, whilst still having 2/3 of your list to make a second combat group to get stuff done.  (Crane train link, etc)

The Kuang shi will die, like Kuang shi tend to, but by that point either the Su-Jian will be dead, or will have achieved it's purpose of causing havoc for the enemy.
I've recently (after losing my Su-Jian to a jammer) thought about adding a second rambo unit to the List, of either a Hsien, or a Ru-Shi to take advantage of the smoke grenades from the controller, and to act as a backup for all the orders should the Su Jian go down.

My wife has not been impressed with this 'module' I've been adding to my lists lately, and has struggled to take it out without Muttawi'ah.

Thoughts and feedback?  Have other people been using something similar?  Am I king of the jerks for min-maxing the combat group?

Cheers Guys!

Glad to know I'm not king of the Jerks(tm)

I originally did run it with 8 Kuang shi, but it feels like a waste of an order pool if you can't use the Su Jian for whatever reason.
I'm experimenting with a Hsien or a Ru Shi, or even a cheap Wu Ming to be the 10th order, and to act as a backup Rambo if the Su Jian is pinned, or snuffs it.

I don't particularly like Kuang Shi so of course I think this is fine and not douchy. Your challenge is to make something decent out of group 2. I do suggest another Celestial Guard Smoke Launcher in group 1 because not using this group as for a 5-man Smoke Launcher Fireteam is a waste and if the original Celestial Guard bites the dust, you might really want the other one to pick up slack.

Bear in mind that whether or not something is a legit idea and tactic is not the same as being a jerk. The easy way to figure out the latter if whether or not the opponent enjoyed the game. (If the opponent is your spouse then perhaps take this fairly seriously.)

As far as a min max combat group of dirt cheap cheerleaders powering a super soldier. It's very potent and so long the other combat group with the rest of the list can deal with missions and such you have yourself a very capable force.

Cheers for the input guys!

Generally speaking Combat group number 2 looks a little something like this:

1.5 SWC | 165 Points

Depending on mood, I'd swap out the Sophrotect for another Weibing, and a Pangulling for More Orders.

Leaves somewhere in the region of 25-40 points depending on how I'd put together the additional specialists.

Man, if you think this is a jerk list, you've seen a well run dual TAG list.

You have reminded me that the list could changed by filling out the original module with a second Su Jian for the 10th order in that combat group. Duo links of Su Jian are an amazing swiss army knife of pain to deal with.

I like running this kind of list a lot too!

Your second group should be catered to whatever mission you plan on playing, plus some useful support for your Su Jian.

Things I find most useful in the second group are: (in no particular order)

1. Garuda - Great at dropping in/walking on and supporting your cat right where you need it.

2. KHD Ninja/Kan Ren - Deal with those pesky hackers who would bog your cat down.

3. Rui Shi or Hsien - You are already bringing smoke, might as well bring MSV2 to exploit it.

4. Sensors - Camo spam is real and sensors are great when you encounter them.

5 Sophotect - Expensive, but your opponent's face when you repair the Su Jian to full health after he tried his best to get rid of it is priceless!

If your regular opponent is struggling to deal with this, you should probably lay off the Su Jian rambo for a while (or give She Who Must Be Obeyed some tactical assistance during/after the game).

Not that rambo-ing a Su Jian isn't a valid/fun tactic, but if your regular opponent isn't having fun playing you're screwing up the social side of the game.  You really want your opponent to say, "man, that was really cool when your Su Jian went rampaging up through my army!  I thought I was screwed until my Azrail blasted him..."
