Why?  Zeta units are a single TAG, PanO has TAG supremacy because you have 7 different TAG profiles, not counting mercs!

How many of them can you take at once in your list ?

More relevant question: "what options do I have".

Aleph vs Pan-O is a good example: Aleph will bring Marut while Pan-O has sufficient options that I'll not write it out on my mobile.

Which one is stronger? Eh... probably the Marut, maybe. Which one is predictable? Absolutely the Marut. You know what you can expect when trying to counter a possible Aleph TAG, but the same can't be said for Pan-O TAGs.

Edited by Mahtamori
Fixed a few typos now that I'm not on mobile. No, I still won't write out all possible TAG combos

Please space jesus, let the O12 rumors be no more than hot air. The last thing we need is another faction that is the best of the best technology wise. The core book hammers out that is Pan O except it's not because Aleph is way above everyone, and Combined plays in it's whole on league. A United nations equivalent should absolutely not have anything better than the top units of the groups it is made of. And Aleph already covers the super, edge of technology special forces archetype.

I was talking to my friend and we both realized there's no "monsters" faction for this game like there is for every other wargame. CA come close, but they're still relatively non-monster. We're expecting something out of Starship Troopers-- S2 grunts are like acid-spitting spiderlings, the S3 REMs are worm monsters, AD troops are burrowing up from the earth instead of dropping from beneath it, some enemies like Kuang Shi who explode when they die because of acid blood, bat-creatures with Super Jump, that kind of thing. But we're mostly expecting it because there are no kaiju in Infinity yet, so  the TAG of course has to be a big ol' Godzilla.

That'd probably get the reaction Bostria was talking about. XD

Bostria said something to that effect regarding the next campaign book, which (though the audio was hard to hear) sound like it will synchronize with another online campaign.

Maybe this will explain why ALEPH has Plasma weapons and access to EI hacking devices... ALEPH has been absorbed by the EI!

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

Bostria said something to that effect regarding the next campaign book, which (though the audio was hard to hear) sound like it will synchronize with another online campaign.  He also said it would add a brand new faction.  I believe O-12 (Space UN) was previously the rumored next army?

Some wild speculation for "huge hate and love it" guesses:

Joan of Arc is killed/sepsitorized

Saladin is killed/sepsitorized

PanO captures Unidrons and get Plasma weapons (from Raxora)

Morat Secession Force; Morats become the 9th army (According to the backstory, the Morats are waiting for the EI to show weakness, so that they can restate agency of their own.  Maybe Raxora would justify that.)

My guesses:

- Wotan overrun, the war gets to Svalherina (I don't even know how to write it).
- Tohaa's Triumvirate revealed, leading to in-fight between Tohaa, mistrust between Hummanity and the Tohaa, and a lot of hate from Ariadna.
- O-12 deploys it's forces trying to create an united front, and many Mercenary Companies are mobilized by the other human factions. They don't get along very well
- Caos spreads.

With the way Ko Dali is mentioned I would suspect it is about losing something. One of the core planets lost, a sectorial breaking off as it's own faction (okay maybe thats too much).

Or.. Considering how Combined already has the Tohaa from the Sogar? A human faction changing sides to the Combined  (don't remember the name right now but those Tohaa that got conquered and realised their bosses lied to them about how the EI would kill them all, like those guys )

There have been rumors and hopes that Tohaa will get an Exalted Sectorial that could include more beast type units including a large creature TAG. While we Tohaa players would be thrilled with stuff like that, it's going to be decades before we ever see anything like that if at all.

I suspect that when we learn the title for ITS 2019 we could get some idea of what's in store.

Imagine if it was called ITS 2019: Invasion or ITS 2019: Insurrection?

Maybe they could have monster with 4 arms that steal genes... I mean cubes A standalone game where Taskmasters have to sweep through derelict space ships clearing them out would be pretty great!

On a more serious note, much as I like a good gribbly alien I doubt CB will do a faction like that. I seem to remember an interview where Bostria said sales of inhuman looking minis was a lot lower so that's why the newer designs for combined are more humanoid and relatable.

I really hope that they don't humanify the Exrah if/when they come back to them... though they need a coherent design.

Me either, though bugs with human faces would be delightfully creepy.

Bugs with human faces on sticks, that's where it needs to go.

That sounds like something Aswangs would do.

Bugs wearing human skin like the villain from the first Men in Black movie would be good, though.

You know, with the Taskmasters job description you could make a space corridor game of them trying to clean out failed experimental monsters and bots in the Praxis Labs.

That actually sounds pretty fun. Maybe mix in Moderators for expendable mooks/redshirts. Might make for a fun scenario, at least.

Any combination of 2, though only double Squalo.  Otherwise, one of each.

This is the most expensive pair of TAGs you can take:

logo_101.png PanOceania
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

orden_regular.pngorden_irregular.png1
logo_12.pngCUTTER MULTI HMG / . (2.5 | 115)
 sep.giflogo_12.pngCRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. ()
logo_44.pngJOTUM Lieutenant MULTI HMG +  Heavy Flamethrower, D.E.P. / . (3 | 103)
 sep.giflogo_44.pngCRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. ()
logo_15.pngMACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15)
logo_61.pngTECH-BEE (Remote Assistant Level 1, Specialist Operative) Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5)
logo_37.pngPALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
logo_1.pngFUSILIER Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 18)
logo_1.pngFUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
logo_1.pngFUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
logo_1.pngFUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
logo_1.pngFUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)

6 SWC | 299 Points

Rather one-dimensional, but I wouldn't want to face it in a Kill-em-all.

You can do something like this with the two cheapest TAGs, it's much better balanced, and IMO more dangerous than Jotum+Cutter:

logo_101.png PanOceania
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

orden_regular.pngorden_irregular.png1
logo_34.pngSERAPH Spitfire, Nanopulser + AUXBOT_1 / EXP CCW. (2 | 82)
 sep.giflogo_34.pngAUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)
 sep.giflogo_34_2.pngAUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)
logo_33.pngTIKBALANG HMG, Heavy Flamethrower, Antipersonnel Mines / AP CCW. (2 | 85)
 sep.giflogo_33.pngCRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. ()
logo_1.pngFUSILIER Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
logo_1.pngFUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
logo_15.pngMACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15)
logo_61.pngTECH-BEE (Remote Assistant Level 1, Specialist Operative) Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5)
logo_37.pngPALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
logo_14.pngTRAUMA-DOC Combi Rifle  / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
logo_37.pngPALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
logo_3.pngNISSE Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 38)
logo_3.pngNISSE MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 34)

6 SWC | 299 Points

As @Mahtamori says, it's about the flexibility you have with PanO.  Facing Aleph, if you KNOW they're taking a TAG, they're taking a Marut and you know exactly what that brings to the table.  Facing PanO, you could be facing one or two TAGs, and that means a lot of combinations of pain.

O12 is the only known possibility for a new faction.  (Bostria has said that Mercs aren't going to be a faction like PanO or even like QK)

Aleph has better TAGs than PanO because they don't need to buy 20,000 of them to have one available for any given hot spot.  Seriously, there are probably over 1000 TAGs of each type on each planet to have one available for covert operations at short notice anywhere.  Sure, I could probably get away with having a dozen or so TAGs per planet if I'm going to be obvious about deploying them (hypersonic/suborbital transports dropping in are NOT subtle/stealthy).  But in order to maintain deniability, you're probably talking about a big FedEx truck with a TAG in the back in most cities.  Or more than one truck, actually.  There are over 4000 cities with more than 100k people on Earth right now, and most planetary populations given in the RPG are about the same as Earth today (barring Ariadna and Haqq).

Ok, more wild speculation incoming:

Corregidor is going down!
The reintroduction of the Exrah will involve an all out assault on one of the Nomad motherships resulting in mass slaughter and sepsitorisation, an entire sectorial will fall (and CB can finally get people off their backs for the CJC starter box's scale). The Human Sphere will react in horror at the new front the EI has opened up and a new era of space raids will start as O-12 directed naval forces desperately try to find the new wormhole the EI is using, panic will finally begin to spread as regular people realise the actual threat they face. Nomad refugees will be housed on Dawn, overwhelming PanO and Yu Jing holdings which are simply unable to bear up under the strain while maintaining their pseudo cold war footing and fending off Ariadnan and Haqqislam political manoeuvrings, leading to a Kazak push to reclaim all of Dawn and absorb the new population (resisted by pockets of Corregidor hard-liners and the rest of the Nomad nation).

Hmmm...

Time for some coffee.
