New sectorial coming ?

25 posts in this topic

Finally a light of hope.

in the previous bow video, finally Bostria told about the designers arranging pictures with kaauris and looks like our new sectorial on the way.

I expect a new starter in the early 2018. can it be something like this. totally made-up with no meaning.

Druze x3 , Yuan yuan with chain rifle, Sudiel ( new engineer to link kaauris and with long waited  Corahtar discipline level 2) and 2x chain rifle krakot

Are you able to link the BoW Video. I thought the next sectorial out was going to be Vedic?

Other sectorials I thought before Tohaa's which doesn't have a name/theme yet would be Kazaks, Svalheim, Invincible Army, Tunguska. Would love a Tohaa's Triumirate or Exhalted sectorial though :)

As for Corahtar Lvl 2 I do believe it has been removed from Wiki. I don't think we'll get a Phacker :(

We don't really know which Sectorial will be first or last, but we know that EACH FACTION (Tohaa included) is getting a Sectorial in the next book. For Tohaa, that Sectorial is Triumvirate, and it has been teased as "some Tohaa plus several Mercenaries".

Being pretty amoral guys, the Druze make sense working for the Triumvirate. We should also add to that Sectorial the Krakot, The Cube Jäger and Le-Muet.

Regarding Corathar Lv2, it was removed from the Wiki because it was there only as a placeholder as the current Corathar Skill says it is Lv1. No one really knows if CB will ever release a Corathar Lv2 skill, but you have to consider that it isn't really necessary: one of the profiles for the Kawaii Sentinels already includes a Pheroware Tactic, without using a Symbiobomb; if CB wanted they could release new profiles that included some of the Tactics.

A ZoC healer would be so good and broken. I want one :)

I think it will be more like the Kaauri with Nimbus sphere. Pheroware ability/s attached to specific units. I don't think we'll get them all but that's probably a good thing.

The "First Aid" Pheroware Tactic can only be used once per game, so this problem is already covered.

Even though, I also want one :P

I’m disappointed with the sectorial being some Tohaa and a bunch of mercenaries.

Same it just seems lazy for one, hopefully you can build a Tohaa only force from the sectorial.

i feel the same story when the onyx came however there were some models like unidrons and legate that help te sectorial to come up different in look.

however if corvus belli designs this army with already on the market tohaa stuff and bunch of mercenaries only, i am not sure that i will be interested at all.

we will see.

I'm sure the reason is 99% to sell merc minis.  There was a 2015 interview with Gutier where he said that the Exalted (Chaksa) sectorial was coming.  Seems Tohaa weren't selling as well as they hoped, so they changed gears.

Druze link team will be for sure. i am sure because putting into market the minis and announcing tohaa sectorial cant be a coincidence. i do also think that the new druze stats coming with outrages minis were true and there will be only slight change.

kaauri link , i am sure. but there will be some guys inside of it. either kosuil or a sukeul. although i think a kosuil is better idea, i am more towards to sukeul nowadays. minis are new and bs16 with mimetism can seem for corvus belli a good idea.

Kaauris dont have a specialist option. Kosuil engineer and sukeul forward observer both are options and maybe needed to increase the cost of the links.

haris ? what do you think about a kaauri + sukeul haris option ? similar to a hsien+zhangyings idea on budget.

yuan yuans, we are sure about it.

but there will some new units right ? from tohaa race ?

1-2 Kosuil Core fireteam with 3-4 Kaauri still makes the most sense to me.  I gently cross my fingers for a Kosuil (Bioimmunity) revamp, because Sukeuls are a far better bargain.  That fact combined with the Kosuil's Engineer status makes a Kaauri+Kosuil fireteam make sense.

If Sukeuls get a special link, I expect it is with Druze, like the Crane leader and Celestial Guard or Hsien+Zhanying, as you say.  That would be a cool way to get a "top tier" fireteam while still saddling the star BS16 Sukeul with human baggage.

Will there be new Tohaa units?  I expect at least a couple.  I've shared my thoughts on how to diversify the faction before.  But I am cynical.  I do not expect much Tohaa given the "mercenaries plus some Tohaa" pitch.  Corvus Belli seems to communicate, "Tohaa, your rules are good and you have your minis, buy another box of Kerails, because we are back to loving Yu Jing and Haqqislam now."

Luckily I have aims to start Tunguska and Vedic when they come out as well but I will be pissed if Tohaa gets squatted cause I do like the faction.

Triunvirate won't probably get some of our best troops, like the Kaeltar, the Rasail or the Makaul. Also, I don't see the Taqeul getting place there.
That means:
- Not giving every Fireteam Eclipse Smoke + Heavy Flamethrower + CC Specialist.
- Not having Chain of Command models -> forget about the Rasail Rambo freely spending the Lt. Order murdering things before dying without consecuences.
- Bye bye, Symbiomates.

So, instead of resilence, the Triumvirate will have a different theme.

I hope that Triumvirate gets Mercenaries like the YuanYuan and the Cube Jäger, and Tohaa troopers like the Igao and some new Impersonator. That would mean that the Sectorial will be centered around some powerful Fireteam (the suggested Druze + Sukeul looks cool), backed by some troops covering the Deployment Zone, a few Specialists doing objectives, and then several nasty tricks (Impersonator, Parachuist, Infiltrator...).

I love having choices, and this would mean that I could play a very different game just buying a few more models. Awesome.

i want sneaky options. triumvirate name is no joke.

impersonater, some hackers, some camo options with tricks, no symbiont mate or bomb but access to pheroware attacks. maybe some new ones ?

new fluffy mercs, new personalities.

but please new troops with symbiobugs.

I disagree, it will defiantly have Rasail, after all, they are essentially the blackbeards of the tohaa sphere. I cant wait for a tohaa merc faction, the idea that the war against the EI has reached the point where they are ready to 'use' another race to lighten the burden adds some moral ambiguity and really deepens the idea of what tohaa society actually looks like. Not to mention mercs fighting for one alien race opens the door to a certain other human faction to working with the alternate alien race.

Isn’t that already the fluff for the Tohaa anyway?

Yup.

The fact is that the Human Race only came into contact with the CA and the EI because the Triumvirate felt that they needed a meatshield while they replicate (and improve) the experiments done on Paradiso.

Wow I feel totally the opposite. This has a Star Wars Cantina feel to me and is the future sectorial I am most excited for.

I wouldn’t mind so much if Tohaa weren’t already behind in terms of profiles and models, but now we’re gonna get less new stuff because half the sectorial will be existing mercs thrown in.

This is where i'm at, almost, I would be very displeased if it end's up being a bunch of existing human mercs.  I chose to play Tohaa for the way they look and play, I don't want humans if I did I would have played one of the many human factions, and as you said it's really bad because we hardly get releases.  If vanilla Tohaa had new releases on the horizon I wouldn't care as much that our sectorial is being squandered by humans, but as far as I know cb has said that vanilla Tohaa is basically a completed faction.
If it ends up being Tohaa or other alien mercs just so that they aren't available in vanilla that is more than okay.  I just don't see any reason to give Tohaa a sectorial that is human mercs + some Tohaa other than a huge fuck you.

vanilla tohaa completed ?

if it is true, i can sell tohaa right away.

ariadna has already 3 sectorials that they can choose varieties among 4th one on the way with kazakhs, even kazakhs are already there as options.

pano has 3 sectorials , 4th one is on the way etc...

tohaa is the only army wihout any sectorials. Tohaa is ofcourse playable but.

i really hope that it doesnt happen.
